Mage: the Awakening 2e

Dedicated and knowledgeable forever-GM looking for a chance to play Mage rather than run it for once! Seeking a GM interested in running a solo or small-group Mage game. I would prefer an adult rating (since CofD tends to stray into adult themes) and starting at Adept-level (at least 4 dots in 1 Arcana, higher starting Gnosis, already in a Legacy).

I have several character concepts I'm interested in playing, so I'm very open to whatever kind of chronicle you'd be interested in running, from a structured mystery/horror game to a city-sandbox-style game. I'm highly knowledgeable on the system and have done a great deal of homebrew in it to update and create Legacies and other 1e mechanics, so I'm happy to help support any GM on the mechanics side of things.

Let me know if you want to talk ideas!

Mage: the Awakening 2e

I can see you're specifically talking 2nd edition here. If you become flexible, I'd run something. I only have 1st edition, sadly.

Mage: the Awakening 2e

Unfortunately, after having run 2e for like 3 years now, I don't think I could go back to 1e. The setting and mechanics are both too different, and (imo) 2e is so much better in every way than 1e... Plus all my ideas were made with 2e in mind, and would be difficult to translate back to 1e's version of the setting.

Mage: the Awakening 2e

Hello

I didn't play GM for two years now but I am willing to give a try and I love Mage (my favorite RP with Exalted). Give me the week and maybe some themes you like or a place and I can cook you something.

Do you have Sign of Sorcery and/or NH: Nameless and Accursed?

Re: Mage: the Awakening 2e

Well I can manage three players. Don't hesitate to give me theme you wish to play, so I can create a game you will enjoy.

Re: Mage: the Awakening 2e

I'd like something that is light on background knowledge, more focused on magic than on magical organisations.

I wouldn't mind getting to know those slowly, but for the beginning the complex spellcasting system is challenging enough without me having to learn that I didn't adhere to the code of some obscure splinter group.

I don't mind starting with little power - I've met so many players in all kinds of games who think that characters who are good at stuff have it easier. I believe high power levels make it difficult for the storyteller to strike the balance between a trivial game and one in which the omnipotents smite you. What I do love is seeing a character grow though - slowly but steadily.

That said - none of my ideas are something I cling to fanatically. Roleplaying is about everyone being flexible.

Re: Mage: the Awakening 2e

So waiting for an answer of Trilogy, I can count on butter78 and Sith_Happens.

I have the basic layout of the game. It will mostly center on a big mysteries and the PCs will need to investigate and search for objects to learn the truth. A little basic but I have one or two twists. Interested?

I currently debating the scope of the game, will you prefer to play in one location or travel the world?

What kind of characters are you thinking to play?

Re: Mage: the Awakening 2e

Doesn't that depend on the setting? And on the characters played by the others?
I find the spirit worlds confusing, so it's likely going to be Acanthus, Mastigos, or an Obrimos - they are more from this world.

Obrimos maybe - someone with a religious background with fate prayers?
Or a Mastigos swindler/thief of some kind?
An asketic Acanthus with a knack for animals?
