Interested in a John Wick Type Game

Hello all. I am interested in a game set in the John Wick universe. My character is the John Wick type of character, brought of of retirement and forced to seek out her old friends and allies.

Be seeing you.

What maturity rating would this be? I'm thinking at least mature, right?

I have not seen John Wick, but I'm fairly familiar with the concept of his type of action movie hero, I think.

I have an adult supernatural Vampire v Werewolves, Vampires & Human agents, game set in modern time. It is set up in the format style of John Wick.  Government under cover secret agency ‘Silvermoon Agency’  link to another game

What system would you want to use? Or are you looking for a free-form game?

Free-form tickles my fancy but if there was a system I would definitely prefer HERO 5th. Best gorram system in the Verse!

the hero system seems a bit complex for an RPOL game. and it would take quite a bit of time to make characters owing to the usual back and forth of posts. then there is the whole issue with people who want to play the game but aren't familiar with the system nor own the rules.

just what twist on the rules are you looking to exploit in a hero system game of highly skill normal people that can't be expressed in a less crunchy system?

I'm not looking to exploit anything. I just love the HERO system but I've never been a min-max type of player and HERO is not set in stone. I'll do freeform and be just as happy given it's the universe the movies are set in that is of most interest.

ok, what sort of character do you envision yourself playing.

john wick was an assassin and possibly had worked as a bodyguard based on those who knew him in the movies. it is also likely he worked handling the day to day operations of various organized criminal enterprises if he were a long time member of a russian crime syndicate.

many of the characters portrayed in the movies worked in specialized/specialist roles handling the gathering of intel, chopping cars, securing venues or people, and so on.

just what do you feel would be your character's role in this highly organized underground society of criminals?

Essentially John Wick (Jane) in an alternate-universe. The same world, same shadow world that lives just to the side of the real world where my legendary assassin, known and feared the world over, got out but something brings her back in. I'm not wanting to play the movies so beyond the setting and my character, everything else is whatever the GM cooks up. Anyone playing (or reading) the game would recognise the background and setting but the plot is all new and different.

What would we do if were the creators and writers of the character/movies? That's what I'm looking to do.

to be clear, you are wanting a solo game?

you want to play a highly trained assassin that has been 'forced' back into the life by elements outside of your control, and must now fight to survive/get even/prosper. something along those lines?

i take it you want a detailed fight/combat sequence then. do you want to use a detailed game system designed for intricate combats or would prefer to free-form play it?

I think this would be better suited for a solo game but there's nothing saying it has to be. There's a vast, world-spanning network of those who serve under the table.

Exactly!

I would love detailed, intricate fight sequences involving Gun Fu and all sorts of action; be that through free-form and play and skilled writing (we've gamed before more than once so I know we write well together) or using a system and skilled writing. If rules will get in the way of the narrative then we toss the rules or just decide not to use any. I am open to either option.
