GURPS: Hyper-Competent Ensemble Cast

There were a trend in TV shows from the mid-2000s up to the mid-2010s where a small team of super-competent people worked together to solve major problems for fun, profit, or because they needed to.

Leverage, Burn Notice, The Librarians, Scorpion, Warehouse 13, the list goes on. Some introduced supernatural elements, some did not, but when those elements were introduced, such as in The Librarians, they were treated as dangerous and unpredictable Macguffins, not anything as straightforward as loot.

I'd like to play in a relatively high-point GURPS game (250-300?) where each PC is one of the best in the world at what they do, but highly specialized, and hopefully with all the weird quirks that goes along with being that type of person. I think Leverage and Scorpion are the perfect examples of my vision for the game's characters.

The existence of the paranormal should be subtle, if used at all. I wouldn't miss it, but if it's present I would rather be recovering a book that turns the residents of a small town into fairytale characters or investigating rumors of a vampire in Aspen than jousting with a dragon over the streets of New York.

Mm, GURPS.  I suspect I would have a hard time resisting a game along these lines.

I love a good ensemble cast, and it would encourage people to create different characters that complement each other.

Perhaps GURPS Conspiracy X would be a good match for relatively subtle supernatural elements?

I have GURPS 4th edition handy, I should be able to dig up 3rd ed if needed.

4e, please. played quite a bit of that. Don't think I could handle rolling back to 3e.

Agreed on 4e. It's not a huge difference, but that's really the issue. Too many little things to cause stumbles.
