Looking for games

So; I've finally figured out how to play with a fulltime job, but whilst I was figuring that out, all the games I was in either died, or I had to drop due to not having the time.

Games I'm mainly interested in playing are:
Pathfinder (1e)
AD&D (2e) - Probably without the players option; but all the 'complete handbooks' would be on the table.
DnD 3.5 - Not gestalt
Buffy RPG
Doctor Who RPG

Also willing to try new things; especially more skill-based than class/level.

I have a space open in my Torg: Eternity game here if you are up for that. Advancement is by XP, which you use directly to buy new skills/attributes/Perks.

Looking for games

I have 3 'pregen' characters available in my Amber game .. this is both an introduction to Amber and to Diceless so you don't need to know anything about either. Along Divers Waysmsg#9

Looking for games

As a GM and longtime lurker I can say accurately that those who express their desired game experience get better responses. Can you share what you are actually looking for in a game? So far you’ve listed the systems with options or dislikes. I have several 3.5e games and even a 1e pathfinder but that doesn’t mean much if the game play or style does not match your unspoken desires.

Pathfinder is politics and vigilante justice set in Hillsfar thwarting the xenophobic First Lord. Less party oriented and more solo investigation and opportunities to team up with PCs and NPCs alike.

Another game is being the bad guys and saboteurs against a goody two shoe kingdom. One of the PCs decided to get married and is expecting a child while plotting the invasion of bugbears into the kingdom.

While another game is set at an outpost as a second chance at life through military service and mysterious forces that the group has to overcome. The party is still getting to know each other and haven’t arrived yet. Though a freak incident has them on their toes.

With the rare exceptions all my games are adult rated to allow for the full breadth of experiences. Most of my games focus on the RP and while combat happens is not the main XP advancement. Also, you mentioned no gestalt but I run classless as an option allowing for quite the plethora of character choices. Do you not like gestalt because of too many choices or too powerful or some other reason? Explaining your likes and dislikes allows for a discourse and a starting point to see if you are willing to compromise.

I enjoy working with players to get at least the character they want. Can’t always get the game experience though, that’s a collaborative effort with all the players.

Rmail or RTJ if you think those might be of interest.

Hope that piqued your interest or inspires some great responses to help you find the game(s) you are looking for.

Cheers.

Looking for games

So in answer to the above:

My biggest interest is in RP-based games - it doesn't always show in the characters I create especially for DnD 3.5 and beyond, but RP is the most important aspect; not a hack-and-slash game. This is true for 2E and Buffy as well; but not as fussy as those games are just rarer.

Whilst I'm aware of the argument that it isn't; gestalt just feels too powerful for me. For 3.5 games in particular, I'm interested in playing things from Tome of Magic; and though RP is the key, there's a few prestige classes I wouldn't mind trying out - some I know are weak comparatively; some quite strong but I just want to experiment with them. I don't have a list of characters I want to try; because I always have a few. Whilst it can work fine for 2E; not really enamored of a pure dungeon exploration.

Always want to play good guys - don't like evil characters. I know some people can make it an interesting, challenging experience, but it's not for me.

In regards to Pathfinder 1E, really quite interested in trying out the rules found in Complete Intrigue - like the Vigilante class for example.
