Willing to DM solo or duo 5th ed for someone DMing for me

I don't really want to play, but appreciate the offer. I would, however, be interested in GMing a solo or duo game of D&D 5e.

If you want to Rmail me, or discuss some ground rules here, I'd be very open to figure out if I can DM a fun game.

Big pros of me DMing:
  1. I don't want a game DMed in return, I just want an enthusiastic player base.
  2. I will challenge and reward you by giving enough emphasis on your weaknesses so that your strengths highlight the game.
  3. I build events based on NPC actions, not around fixed plots or objectives. So the goals are born of your character's interpretation and attitude. I don't think West Marches games really work on RPoL (as it is by nature site wide) but I create NPCs that have goals, and some of those goals will motivate your character to act in cooperation, or opposition, to the NPCs. If they don't, I have more NPCs and the ones you don't care about will largely be abandoned by your character's view point. I might have repeating NPCs, mostly from NPCs that were abandoned, helped, or given mercy. Mostly, it will be a large cast that is frequently changing.

Big cons of me DMing:
  1. My RL hasn't been and won't be stable for years. I'm active about nine months out of the year, and about two days out of the week.
  2. I have a history, despite having the opposite intentions, of killing PCs in major battles. I use the levels of antagonists to gauge what you, the player, will be faced with, but I'm a red tag GM. I don't think death has to be the end of a game, but if it is for you, understand that is a possibility; and the more major battles your involved in, the more that chance becomes relevant. I don't play my antagonists "smart" because they're side characters, they're meant to lose, but I am a tactical GM. Beasts will do bestial actions, wealthy characters will use minions, weak characters will lie and cheat rather than use brute force. I won't always play a character "smart" or look at their mental stats to determine whether an action will be taken, but I will have the characters (even things like an ooze) act on their perceived strengths and toward a goal. That goal doesn't have to be killing your character, especially if battle isn't implied, but killing your character if your character attacks them can often by the simplest solution.
    • I have rarely seen a PC that has fled and lived. By the time your character thinks it's best to run, it's probably too late. The same, however, is often the case for enemies. Some will, however, surrender or foolishly try to run. It can work. In practice is never has worked. Never.

  3. I don't appreciate long posts. It is lost on me. On occasion I enjoy them, but seldom do they have the desired immersion. This is also true of any post. Even a background history that's rich with information is too long for me. I want posts to be able to convey their message in no more than one (Desktop monitor's) screen's text. That should also be the rare case. Most should be about two or three paragraphs of these bullet-points' volume.

I'm flexible to start above 1st level, but won't start higher than 5th. I would prefer you start at 1st.
