Looking for a game where the system doesn't matter as much as a willingness to work in a character's backstory. Not necessarily free form though because I don't want to just decide if I accomplish things.

A young rogue is assigned to steal something from a temple by his thieves guild; which he accomplishes pretty easily, maybe too easily. After turning the artifact over to the guild, he goes back to his normal life but one early morning, a few days later, a  strange cloaked figure intercepts him and tells him they are from the god/goddess and tasks him with recovering the item. To ensure he is motivated into doing what he is told, he is turned into a girl.
The idea is that "he" is really transgender and the god/goddess knows this. The rogue ends up realizing being trans and staying female. She also ends up idolizing the god/goddess and starts working for them.

The backstory doesn't have to be the main story line at all. She may never find the artifact at all. However, the character's (any who play) backstories are periodically worked into the game is what I am hoping for.

It is an interesting concept and I would love to be involved but I don't currently have the time to DM a new game...

I could work with your background/character idea, I think it would be quite fun RPGing that character development!

I am just rebooting a Pathfinder 1e game, if you were interested in playing amongst a group you can join that or we could run you solo if you prefer (under the same game umbrella just private thread).  We are starting level 1 characters.
