Any takers to run the old TMNT Palladium Game?

I backed the Kickstarter. Come to think of it, I may be receiving my slick new copies sooner than later. When I do, maybe I'll run it, but not until then.

My love for this insane game remains intense and pure even after all these years.

What kind of game would people be looking for? After the Bomb? Modern day stealthy ninja fights? Gonzo space robot wizards?

The genre has a pretty varied canvas.

Excellent questions.

My preference would be something either modern or set in the 80s. There are benefits to going pre internet pre social media when you’re a mutant animal.

I think the Mutant Mayhem movie did a great job of establishing the teenage angst/challenges.

So my desire would be mutants in the modern world either acting as crime fighters or perhaps serving more selfish underworld for profit motivations.

I prefer the team build option myself, but open to having different animals with a connected origin. And it doesn’t have to be ninjas. Might be just as fun to be fun toting gangsters.

I have the book in a box somewhere... hasn't seen use in like 30+ years... I'd be interested in playing... my favorite character was a mutant porcupine street thug.

willing to purchase an updated version.

Heh. TMNT. Hate Palladium rules but they have such great stuff, like TMNT and Rifts. After the Bomb is fun too, but modern or 80s could be interesting.

I DID back the recent kickstarter.

That is an interesting idea.

Maybe not specifically "the hood." That implies some real-world political realities I would be uncomfortable including in a light-hearted game about mutant animals.

But "Mutants in the Inner City" does sound fun. And a really good match for either the modern day or the 80's.

We could either do mutant crime-fighters, trying to clean up the streets. Or mutant gangsters, trying to take them over.

How closely do you prefer to stick to the actual rules in the actual book? I've found that some people who love Palladium really want to play it as it lays. Which is fine, obviously, everyone should do what they love. But left to my own devices I tend to drift toward "loosely based on Palladium." Mostly in terms of trying to keep the free-wheeling creative insanity that makes the games so intriguing, while discarding as much of the overly restrictive player-agency suppression as I can.

I think that setup works. Its a street level game after all.

For rules, I'm open. There are certainly significant issues with Palladium in general and TMNT had a decided lack of editing. I think using the structural guidelines but modifying where it makes sense would be fine with me.

I backed the kickstarter too.

Once I read over the updated rules I may run a game too here. I’m expecting the “updated rules” to just be a copy/paste from BTS2E and Dead Reign.

Have you tried a game here? Perhaps there is enough interest to make a game happen.
