Beat to Quarters/Duty & Honour

Just wondered if anyone fancied running one of these, seeing who'd be first to fire three rounds a minute & pick the lesser of two weevils.

I get that the chances are slim, since this is quite a niche game system, but I figure it can't hurt to ask.

Probably easier to find people interested in Beat To Quarters. The Forester and O'Brian novels have always been more popular that the Cornwell ones, although the Sharpe television series gave us far more hours of entertainment than the cinematic adaptations of Hornblower and Aubrey-Maturin.

Never heard of this system. I used to read up on  all manner of war things when i was  and school and into my 30's, then switched to fantasy and Sci-Fi.

Hornblower   series   was very good  with  Ioan Gruffudd, was very good ( i have the  DVDs)...I have the DVDs of  Sharpe as well..i liked the premise  and the series . aleander kent's  book, and the Hornblower books were great...there was a smaller 'harsher'  series  where the hero was Name d 'Fox' series   written by Adam Hardy, it  is very good and a bit  'harsh'

anyway, all those  are god. I -layed  Woden ships  and Ironmen, back in the  Day along with many Avalon Hill tactical games, I loved the detailed   'battle  outcomes" of their charts, and use   my own verisons in my games.

I have those game systems but ended up using my own home brewed system to try a pirates game but not enough active players to keep the game running :(

You can get the game books for both D&H and BtQ on DrivethruRPG for "pay what you want." The author had been working on a second edition, but I haven't seen any updates on that front for about four years.

I would love a wooden ships and iron men kind of role-play. There was a very good one several years ago but the GM passed away.
