Hey everyone! I have recently started an ADULT zombie apocalypse game using the Savage World's Adventure Edition and I am looking for a Co-GM (maybe two!) to help me with managing NPC's, checking character sheets, and coming up with plot/faction ideas. While I fully intend to do the brunt of the work and running the story, I now have 10 players, and I believe it would be prudent to get another GM on board to help make sure the game doesn't lag while I get settled into my new place and job as the cast grows.
The setting is a modern-day sandbox where zombie media never existed, taking place in the very early days of the apocalypse. Social media and the news are filled with reports of extreme violence and attacks taking place across the nation, but most people are still carrying on with their lives. There is a ton of misinformation circulating on what is actually happening and as things get worse their will only be more misinformation as everyone forms opinions and theories about how the infection works despite few if any having any real understanding of what is actually happening.
I plan to have several variants of infected, but I would like to keep things more in line with how The Walking Dead handled zombies (including variants similar to those shown in the spin offs) and less Resident Evil type infected. Some characters do have secret immunity, but I have hidden the infection mechanics from the players to keep them in the dark about how the infection works and what it takes for someone to become infected, and also how the infection interacts with those who do become infected.
I am hoping to find someone I can bounce ideas off of and who can help me manage NPC's the players encounter and ideally help me run encounters with the players. As I mentioned earlier, I plan to do the brunt of the work but if I can find someone who is willing to run one of the smaller groups while I handle the other players that would be really cool. If someone is interested in doing this, I am willing to give them a ton of freedom in deciding how they wish to run their part of the game as I am a very easy-going GM with a "reactionary" style of GMing. I have a ton of ideas, but nothing is set in stone, and I am more than willing to accept any ideas a Co-GM might want to explore in game.
Familiarity with Savage World's is not required but would certainly be useful especially if the Co-GM is going to be running side threads alongside me. The game is a sandbox so I am fully expecting 2-4 different player groups, but all of the different groups will be staying in the same general area and may interact with each other on occasion. I have given the players a lot of freedom to decide who they travel with or what they do, so it is possible in the future the players may all work together to build one single community or they might end up splitting into different factions each having their own "base".
I have fairly grand ideas for the game, and I plan for it to be a long-term game since there isn't any real overarching plot with the focus being more on the players and what they choose to do. This means any story a Co-GM might want to tell can be done without interfering with a "plot"!
