Mythras campaign search

Hello rpol,

This will be the first time I try my hand at Mythras. I have played D&D since the Basic red box set all the way to 5E (1983 to be exact). Took about a decade and a half off from all TTRPG's and started again early last year. I was in 2 campaigns here on rpol, D&D 3.5 & 5E.

The 2 campaigns I was in were both run by the same DM. To my shock and dismay, we were recently notified that our DM passed away. RIP sir!

Now I suddenly have time for Mythras. I have already acquired a bunch of books and learning the game. My question...is there a DM/GM running a Mythras campaign that's willing to take a chance on a new player? Full Disclosure: I am just learning the game now and have zero experience playing it. I want to be completely upfront about that.

Thank you,

Gars

If you find someone, kindly give a shout, I'll dive right in.
Same background as you (Red Box), btw.

If you want that DnD feeling but 'updated' to d100 check out Classic Fantasy Imperative instead. It is Mythras, free and has all the spells you know from DnD.
I have been meaning to set up a game myself but have simly not found the time.
Maybe if you draw enough interest I may consider

Another Red Box player...awesome! :)

Yes I'll bring you up if a group here accepts me.

I have the Classic Fantasy Imperative and am open to try that out too.

I would start my own campaign but Mythras is a new game system for me and it's been so long since I DM'd. Years ago I ran a 'Roman Empire' campaign setting for D&D (2.0?) and it was so awesome. Prior to starting the campaign I made myself well read and studied on the Romans...the legions, government, culture, different cultures within the empire, religions, etc. We even had a mini war campaign (home-brew rules) where the Legionary in my group had command of a century (80 roman soldiers and 20 servants/slaves), with an auxiliary of 50 "balearic slingers".

Whenever I DM next, it will be Ancient Greek centered OR Medieval Europe.

I've been trying to escape the video game feel of D&D combat for a more simulated feel. From my research Mythras seems to fit the bill perfectly.

I dawdle sometime with the system, when I find the time.
Made a Mythras combat example, you can peruse it if you want, just check for my game, which really is the left-overs from previous GMing a WFRP4 game (hence the post count)
