Re: OOC Thread 3

I would be glad to join in on the hospital trip, but figgured we really needed the maintenence on the rides. We also serve who shoot big guns and turn wrenches. :)
Not to mention we need to keep a few of us with our gear so it doesnt try to walk off.

Re: OOC Thread 3

We're also extremely limited with space in the softskins. Only one or two more than Ben's suggestion would be possible, althought it'd be a tight squeeze with the wounded.

Re: OOC Thread 3

Added 3 pictures to help illustrate. These are from the actual location. However, this time you'll have to use your imagination a little more - as its night time in the game. Some times I like to photoshop them for added realism, but I'm a little rushed tonight.

Photo 1 - Gdansk's wet streets and dark alleys.
Photo 2 - The view at the bridge facing to the west. St.Mary's cathedral is visible on the right.
Photo 3 - The old turret fortification at the bridge. Not shown is the other defensive works and roadblocks.

Correction on the Hummer, Ben removed some of the stores and munitions.

Also, I'm jumping ahead a little here, but take a look at just how big the cathedral is compared to the other buidlings...

Nice work.

Wow. That is pretty big. 25,000 capacity.

Re: OOC Thread 3

Thanks.

I updated the stores list and changed the format to make it a little easier for me to keep updating the info. Well actually, I still need to subtract the ammo from the bridge ambush but at least most of the work is done. I hope you all have been better at book keeping than me and have your PC's inventory up.

--> I changed the ammo cases to the actual number of rounds.

--> I removed the weight listings. I know that might interfere with storage realism, but the list was too cluttered for me.

Man, that is a HUGE freaking list of stores.

Big thanks to Legbreaker who's taken a lot of his own time to help keep track of the book keeping.

Next up is getting the fuel updated.

...and I'll keep doing it too.
I'll keep track of the weights, etc also.

Yes, there is a lot there, but much of it is really quite useless to us as a unit (take the 40 or so excess small arms we've got for example). What we really need is something worth trading it all for, such as a thousand litres or so of fuel, or a tonne (literally) of food.

Perhaps that's a job for our scroungers and negotiators? It's a big city (so we're told) and the chance of finding specific items is fairly good.

I'd like to try finding some replacement tyres, bilge pump and parts for the BTR-70, armour plate to fabricate gunshields for the M113 cargo hatch (or simply have them made for us), and numerous personal items such as armour vests and kevlar helmets.

Being a harbor town with a fishing, merchant marine and ship building, none of that would be a problem.

What about our personal militia?  Or am I thinking too far ahead.  :)

Re: OOC Thread 3

I have a plan for the M113, leg might like it, but probably tell me that it's impossible. My answer is boo.

Kamineski has lots of broken PACT vehicles, I'm not sure what, but I really want to find a BMP, 2 or 3 would be good and cut out the section carrying the turret, then fix it on the M113 and make ourselves an ASLAV Frankentank. I reckon with a welder and some duct tape we could do it. Damn reality, I want my Frankentank!!!

Re: OOC Thread 3

I like the idea, but the execution is probably beyond us. There's some significant engineering obstacles to overcome which I think might be beyond our skills and equipment (not to mention available time).

Still, it's worth taking a look at - we could be suprised.

I'll get a post up for the fellas at the hotel in a couple hours. I still need some time to brainstorm and think up somethings to keep everything going there without it getting too boring for the PCs there.

I'm happy to sit and wait for now.
The characters could certainly could do with the downtime.

Sleep, guard duty and maintenance is probably the order of the day.

Re: OOC Thread 3

I’d like to take a moment to announce that it has been one year now since our game here begun. It would never have been possible without the amazing contributions of the players. Both those who were in since the first days, (giving me credit in advance that I could pull something off), and those who we’ve had joined along the way. Thank you to everyone who has helped to build this game into what it is.

Looking back I feel not only thankful to my great players, but I am also surprised and relieved. You see, prior to this one, I’ve only played in Rae’s and KCs online games. So I’m quite new at experiencing Twilight2000 over the net, and was completely inexperienced in GM’ing one at that. I wasn’t really sure just how well everything would work out. Thanks for your assistance, patience and understanding towards this.

Re: OOC Thread 3

Well, I'm certainly enjoying myself.

I'd never managed to play T2k throughout my entire childhood; the setting was just too cool for me to abandon.  Getting to finally play here, with generally good writing (especially the Narrator) and people with military experience certainly adds to the game's feel and immersive qualities, and it's a real joy.

I do wish I could write more with Oskar that would be relevant to his experience rather than filling space with an occasionally witty internal monologue, but I don't think there's any possible way for me to reasonably do that.

I don't think its "filling space" as you put it. I think your posts are awesome. For every one I read I get a laugh and love the way he sees the world. Oskar gives an extra, really unique angle to the big picture. In addition, he's been spot on for putting the pieces together and figuring everything out... I can't ever keep things in the dark!

Has it been one year already? It doesn't seem like it's been that long. I think that's the sign of a good game. It doesn't drag at all.

I really enjoy playing with you guys.

Re: OOC Thread 3

hahah.  Well done St Gill.

I wasnt sure if "schwepps" was just available in Australia or not.  So i didnt know if people would think i was just shortening his name, or making a joke re the drink company.

But yes, i'm trying to gauge our german friend.  Hopefully the combination of talk re lucky symbols etc means it goes down ok.

Re: OOC Thread 3

I'm updating the vehicles/inventory and when I added the BTR-70, I remember there was no 7.62mmL for it... it came with around 175 KPV rounds (50 fired in ambush) but no PKT ammo. Did anyone transfer over any, and if so, how much?

No worries Kurt. Welcome back.

For the guys at the hotel, sorry if the time is dragging. I don't want to push too far ahead of the fellas at the church.

I'm laughing hysterically at the scene at the hotel.

Oskar would have shot Shweppenburg right there if he had heard and saw what was going on.  :p
