Oskar, just to clarify - you're running towards the left pair of buildings (your team's objective), and not to the closer right pair (Frank's).

No, I just had to go out of town and didn't think I'd be gone this long. I just got back so will either get things done tonight or tomorrow.

Map may have to come tomorrow. Sorry about that. In addition I'll be giving a more detailed description of the buildings you're closing in on.

There's a lot going on so if I wasn't clear on something feel free to ask away.

Re: Do we REALLY need to arm them all?

I know the scale is pretty large, but I indicated the confirmed enemy positions, as well as who they are currently shooting at.

There's gunfire heard to the north, but you don't know from where exactly.

One of the militia is wounded (yellow).

Both squads are one turn from reaching the side of the building (another turn will be needed for actual entry). Oskar's team had to cover more ground than Frank's, but they weren't bounding so they were a little faster taking that risk.

The enemy in the storage area who threw the grenade is not in view anymore. He ducked below a mound of scrap metal and junk. There is a tall chainlink fence surrounding the storage area with a barbed wire on the top. Access is likely through or or both of the adjacent buildings.

Left pair - larger building is two stories. Known doors are on the SW side facing the road and only visible to Bradley team right now. The smaller building is one floor and the only known door (where the shooter is) is facing Oskar's squad.

Right pair - the white building is two stories with a small door on the SW side (looks like a service door and not the main ones). Lots of windows. The other building is more of a storage type structure with no windows. No door is visible. NO ENEMY are observed in either of these two buildings yet.

The three guys still next to the road are Mitch, Mike, and Zajac. I forgot to add the frozen guy but he's there too.

You da man Osk...

Will try and get a post out tonight.  Been working some much needeed OT at the prison!  If you have to move for a post, Frank wants to clear his two buildings while loking for any surprises that might be left behind!

Re: Do we REALLY need to arm them all?

Turn is up. I have no idea how it became so long either.

Hope nobody is bored. Things are going to pick up soon. A lot.

I'll leave the map for tonight - I'm sure you can figure out where you are. Both squads are lined up on the sheltered side of their respective buildings, except for Rooke who's over at the other one alone.

If you need to ask any questions before you want to make a move, go right ahead.

Re: Do we REALLY need to arm them all?

Fusilier:
Withing seconds, Third Squad is lined up, shoulder to shoulder in some cases, along the SE wall of the building and adjoining storage lot. Peering over the stacked scrap metal through the chainlink  fence, Varis looks into the lot but doesn't see the grenade thrower. A door leads into both buildings from the lot though.

The only visible access to the 3rd squad Alpha buildings is through the lot, which is on the other side of a chain-link fence?

Re: Do we REALLY need to arm them all?

In reply to Oskar Friedmann (msg #1021):

No. This is what is known so far...

"Large Building" - 2 floors. The front of the building is the SW facing that the Bradley shot up. There is a known entrance there.

"Small Building" - 1 floor. There is a door on the SE face (this is where the rifleman was before he took off after Varis' grenade). It's shut and without windows. The SE face is also where you are stacked up.

You can only access the lot by going through either building first.

Re: Do we REALLY need to arm them all?

I think there is some confusion in 3 Squad that might need fixing before the turn post or it might have to get resolved at battlefield confusion.

Yes, Varis threw a grenade over the scrap pile beside the target building. Oskar's turn suggests the grenade went into the building itself. Not sure how to fix this on my end.

Varis reaches out his hand and commands, "Grenade."

I didn't think any of the militia were issued grenades because of the danger they posed to both themselves and those around them?  :S

Re: Do we REALLY need to arm them all?

Minor point, I forgot to show the frozen militia and the shot militia on the road. Keep it in mind that you have one less each to work with in your squads.

I hope you can make out everything - I might have to have a zoomed up version of the map for you.

There's two enemy in the trees at L06 - one is prone behind tree cover and shooting at Rooke (missed this turn), and the other guy is bounding northwest. Mitch is covering and can fire (missed observation roll), but can engage only one of the two targets. Rooke also has a choice, he will have to decide to shoot or take cover and then shoot.

For Oskar/Varis, you don't know where those two enemy are, only that you can hear them to the NE. To investigate you'd have to go around the corner of the building first. Right in front of you though is the door leading into the building - no signs of life from within or from the behind the scrap.

Bradley's targets have gone to cover.

Smoke is on the map.

It would be helpful if you could show the progress of the neighbouring units too. We don't want to get too far ahead or behind them.

What's the wind direction and strength? Now we've got smoke on the table I think we need to keep track... :(
I'm not going to call a second WP mortar round as we've only got a handful and the Bradley is close enough to the intended location that a) they could be hit by it and b) JJ can toss a smoke grenade out the hatch if needed.

Fuse - can you please mark the wounded and frozen militia on the map, as I may attempt to contact them if our paths cross.

BTW - we have hit 1,000 posts in this thread. Time for a new one?

I was thinking that myself actually. Either kick them forward or strip them of their weapons and equipment and shove them towards home.
