Jed Black:
Somebody had to do it and I didn't see any hands going up for the job.
Or should we have simply guessed and hoped we still had enough ammunition and other supplies to trade away without leaving ourselves defenceless?

But I haven't bothered since about July - nobody seems to care about the truth.

In the current situation, all I want to know is who may soon be in a position to drop what they're carrying and take on the Bren, which would then allow Jed to use his HK CAW and really start the close range carnage.

Did anyone ever get briefed on what chemical weapons were available to the city defenders? It would be useful to know if the gas masks some are carrying is enough protection. Of course if the IB kept it close to their chests... :(

Re-Ammo usage. All players should be responsible for tracking their own PCs ammo usage, and if you are low you should tell people IC. I imagine this would be a standard protocol IRL. Keeping an accurate record will help make gameplay more interesting and realistic.

The GM will track NPC usage, but PCs should be prepared to ask their militia about current ammo status IC, as they may be inexperienced and might not be aware that they are low until it is too late.

BTW - dont forget that Caleb gave a 40mmS HEDP grenade and some AK74 mags to Mike/Frank which may be useful.

Jed Black:

There is someone who has been keeping track of unit stores for as long as I’ve been involved with this game and if you look at the Vehicles and Party Stores thread you'll see that it is up to date.  He's called Fuse and he's the GM of this game.

Fuse, please can you stand up and wave so that Leg is aware of who you are!

Jed Black:
But I haven't bothered since about July - nobody seems to care about the truth.

Actually they do and if you were to actually read all of the posts you'd discover that this is the case.

Jed Black:
My rather outdated records (at least six months old) show 1,570 rounds of 7.62L belted available - I can't imagine though that he'd have all 47kgs of it on him.

Your records are now completely inaccurate and I'm not sure why there is a need for a duplicate set in the first place - the Vehicles and Party Stores thread covers this off.

To summarise what's happened to the 7.62mmN belted (which is what is fired by the M240 that Meyer is using and not the 7.62mmL belted you mentioned, which is what the PKM Mitch had to abandon uses) for you when we set up the defence of Charlie position Mitch issued the spare M240 to Meyer with a load of belts and also gave some additional belts to Oskar as we were working on the assumption that the defence would last longer.  All the 7.62mmN belted ammo in the Vehicles and Party Stores thread was issued (which is why there is none listed there now) and to find out exactly what was issued to whom you'll have to find the IC posts where Mitch did it (I think that there was some OOC discussion as well).

With regards to what spare ammo Oskar and Meyer are displacing with then that is obviously a question for them but I imagine that some of their ammo has had to be abandoned due to its weight and the need to move fast.  They have some militia with them however so it may be that some of them are carrying spare belts.

Re: OOC Thread 6

I have 400+ rounds for the GPMG either on Meyer or carried by Ferro who became the assistant gunner.

Nobody but him and Ferro know this, but he hasn't shouted out that he's low on ammo to anyone.

Mike is your only surviving IB member left, and he had no idea it existed.  It was just SOP for key personnel (like medical) to have Masks with them at all times, and any other IB personnel who had them to have them as well.

Ok, rolls are done and later tonight after I get home and settled I'll get the narrative up. Thanks for everyone getting their turn(s) in.

Oh, and I almost forgot. Not to ruin the surprise but a PC died. I won't say who it is, but his initials are O.F.

Haha. While the above statement is just a joke, the rearguard fellas do have their work cut out for them. You are surrounded now, the enemy is inside the wall, and you need to bust out in the open to escape. Hope to see some good IC planning and teamwork to make it happen.

Sorry - the rearguard should have pulled out earlier.  Hopefully the delay hasn't killed us all! <G>

Will you be wearing your underwear on the outside, Superman style? <G>

And will you have a cape?

Or a mask?

I think there is a new portrait for Oskar returned from the dead <G>:

If you look back a bit further you'll find that Fuse's list is a direct decendant from the excel sheet I was providing him by email.

In my opinion, it should NOT be left up to the GM to look after PC stores. He's got enough to deal with already.
Robert Mitchell:

My mistake on the weapon - for some reason I saw it as PKM.
Robert Mitchell:

Not entirely true. Take a closer look at the M2 Bradley post and you'll see a good 1500+ rounds there.

I quite agree – my point was simply that someone was keeping track of PC stores when you said that no one was.

Jed Black:
Not entirely true. Take a closer look at the M2 Bradley post and you'll see a good 1500+ rounds there.

I was counting those as “issued” – my point was that there were none left sitting idly in the stores.

Jed Black:

However in the time it’s taken to get Jed down from the top floor of the townhouse the rearguard have gone from being flanked on one side to being practically surrounded!

It will be fun to break out though.  Or rather to attempt to break out! <G>

Fuse - are Mitch and/or Rooke aware of the grenade that has just arrived between Andrzej and Varis?

Just so everyone knows I'm away for a long weekend and don't expect to be able to post from Friday to Sunday.

No they aren't.

Thanks for the reminder.

Rest of the turn up today. I got interrupted last night and couldn't finish.

The good news is that thanks to Jed there's no shortage of firepower available. He's got the Bren, HK CAW, his .45, 5 frag grenades, 2 long lasting smoke grenades, and the 6 mines, as well as the RPG he thoughtfully recovered. There's also half a dozen 5.45mm mags upstairs if anyone's desperate.

Added to what others have on them and we could either hold out (not really an option given the non-existant chance of reinforcement/relief, and imminent gas attack), or break eastward across the alleyway.

Meyer still has some basic demo gear doesn't he? While the mines aren't exactly ideal, I'm thinking that given a few moments they could be turned into improvised command detonated grenades.... Even a pair or pliers and some wire, or a length of string might be enough.

In reply to Jed Black (msg #930):

Posting from my phone while in the airport.

Just to say that while Jed might have brought firepower he has sacrificed speed of movement and also missed the opportunity to gain a tactical understanding of the current situation. Being realistic Jed has minimal understanding of the situation the rearguard is in and therefore discussion about setting up options is only theoretical as the situation will have changed by the time it becomes relevant!
