Looks good to me and I'm very happy with the role that Tosh has been given.

Francis 'Frank' Benucci:
Fox use the same kind of ammo that Frank's rifle currently using?  Do we have anything extra?

What is Frank armed with now?  He used to have a AKM with a drum mag but Fox is using a 7.62mmN rifle I believe.

I ask because if Franks AKM is not being used then some of the mags could be distributed to the POWs with 7.62mmS AKs and Tosh would like the drum mag for his RPK.

I'll suggest this in character if Frank does have an AKM etc that he's not using.

Ta,

Andy.

Frank has been using the M-40 sniper rifle since we left Gdansk for this mission.  He still has his AKM, (2) drum mags and some 30 rounders.  Perhaps Ferro would like to use the rifle now or somebody else?  I've been stingy with my mags for the AKM since I swapped out to it and have been collecting mags for since few of us were using the assault rifle.

Cork, I reckon that for this mission Frank should be using his AKM, not the M-40.  We're going to need firepower rather than sniping I reckon.

Michael Kessler:
In reply to David 'Tosh' Lines (msg # 922):

Mariusz (for political reasons), with Christensen and Fox providing advice / support.

I'll post IC to that effect later.

I'd suggest putting Christensen elsewhere.

Which militia squad is with Assault Group #1 and which is with Assault Group #2?  I'm guessing that one of these will be Fireteam #4 and one will be either Fireteam #1 or #2.  I'd suggest that Christensen is placed with #1 or #2, whichever is attached to one of the Assault Groups, to bolster that militia unit, presuming that there is space on/in the vehicles.

On my phone, hence the brevity.

Fireteam 1 goes with the Btr
Fireteam 4 goes with the humvee / bmp

I prefer Christensen where I placed him - any one of several Mad Dogs should be able to lead a rifle squad but if anything happens to Mariusz the blocking force may have leadership issues if the locals don't listen to Fox.

Anyone else got a preference?

Re: Getting up to speed

In reply to Michael Kessler (msg # 932):

Ok, that makes sense as well.

One other thing.  We have spare ammo in the unit stores for the weapons that the former POWs have been issued.  I think that it's worth issuing more than one mag each to them if we can.  Do you want me to work that out for you?

Sleeping with a roof over his head was a welcome change to Billy and the breakfast was icing on the cake.

Cymon, I don't think that we're hanging around long enough to get any sleep or to be fed.  Tosh was hoping for both but has already been denied....... :(

Re: Getting up to speed

OK, Andropov will give the radio to the mortar crew and JJ will give his tac radio to Mariusz. Any information for the Command unit will have to be relayed through Reidel. On another matter, would the grenade launcher work if we had a PACT tripod of some sort? If so we can ask the militia if we can borrow one if they have a spare. That would add a bit of punch to the mortar team so it would be in their interests as well.

Does that sound feasible? Of course, they may not have one to lend out.

In reply to John Jameson McCarthy (msg # 936):

The CO giving up his radio is daft when we have a surplus of radios in the fireteams.

If you want Riedel will give up hers so that he relays messages to her rather than the other way round but be aware that may mean delays in medical treatment if the medic has no radio of her own and her and McCarthy get separated. More logical option in my opinion would be for someone in the fireteam to give up theirs

Looking at the list, JJ can draw the spare 2k Chinese radio, is that OK, Fuse?

Yes, he can draw that one. It's a light, short range set (~2km range estimate).

The biggest thing that I don't miss about GM'ing T2K, OOC-drama aside, is keeping track of party stores. Holy crap is that tedious. I could never be a quartermaster. Fuse, I salute you.

I wish rpol had a system, like an spreadsheet thing. Something different than doing it all in text blocks.

Everything set for moving things forward? Ok with immediate departure and occupation of Wislinka (assembly area)?

Note, Wislinka is where 4 mad dogs were killed. It may be years in real time, but only one season ago for the characters, so they'd remember the place.

Re: Getting up to speed

Mark, the Chinese radio (#Y11) is in Mariusz's hands.

Keep McCarthy's personal radio as is.

I've transferred the manpack radio #Y03 from Andropov to the mortar crew/Fox.

Andy, since you seem to be handling it, what's the final call on ammo/mags changes you've been discussing?

Corkman, please confirm M40 sniper rifle is gone from Frank's hands. I'll put it in stores unless claimed.

Alan will take the 90 5.56mmN from stores and the 3 FRAG grenades. Thanks.

Done.

Fusilier:
Andy, since you seem to be handling it, what's the final call on ammo/mags changes you've been discussing?

Happy to do this but I have a couple of questions.

Firstly what is the ammo level of the militia, particularly the two fireteams that will be linked with the Mad Dog units?

Secondly am I right that the POWs were armed as follows:

5 x AKM's with 1 mag per person
3 x AK74's with 1 mag per person
1 x M16 with 1 mag

Francis 'Frank' Benucci:
I have [3] spare mags and about [85] rounds that I will give up for that group if you want them?

Thanks - these combined with 4 mags and 125 rounds from the stores gives us 7x 30rnd 7.62mmS mags to share out, either amongst the POWs or possibly with the militia if necessary.  Please can you remove them from your sheet.

We can also give the POW with the M16 3x 30rnd STANAG mag and 90 rnds.  Fuse - you have 2 entries for 90x 5.56mmN rounds - is a duplication?

And the 3 POWs with AK74s can each have 3 full 30rnd 5.45mmB mags for a total of 9 mags and 270 rnds.

Once I know the answers to the questions above I can clarify fully who has been issued what.

Militia have just first line ammo, 5-6 magazines each.

The 5.56mm is a duplicate.

Re: Getting up to speed

In reply to Fusilier (msg # 952):

OK, thanks.  With the POWs:

5 x AKM's with 1 mag per person - they get a further 7 mags to share between them.
3 x AK74's with 1 mag per person - they get a further 3 mags each for a total of 4 each
1 x M16 with 1 mag - he gets a further 3 mags for a total of 4

The following will need to be removed from the stores:

 - 7.62mmS rnds x125
 - 7.62mmS mag x4
 - 5.45mmB rnds x270
 - 5.45mmB mag x9
 - 5.56mmN rnds x90
 - 5.56mmN mag x3

The remaining 7.62mmS ammo and mags are being provided by Frank.

Ta,

Andy.
