Re: General OOC

Thank you, Miko.

Palpatine is at a gaming session for the next several hours or so, but when he is done he should be able to elaborate if that is necessary.  I would try, but I'm absolutely miserable with something that I can't even seem to sleep away.  I'm going to try bed again, though, in a few minutes.

Re: General OOC

Howdy ya'll.  New PC wandering in.

I have a question about the Dawn of Defiance module for somebody who's read it.  Is it meant to guide the players into joining the Empire?  I'm in a game and I've carefully avoided spoiling myself for the future but I'm starting to wonder, every rebel we've met has been such a jerk that our PCs are seriously discussing joining the Empire against them at this point, in particular Bail Organa managed to really tick us off when:

A) He didn't pay us anything for saving two of his agents aside from providing medical for the wounds we incurred. . . which happened only because we were saving his agents.  Mind you the money isn't a big deal, it's not like we needed much but it felt like a lack of respect.

B) When we asked if he could use his political power to smooth the way to getting some military grade hardware for one of his missions he told us military hardware was illegal for civilians and we should be ashamed of ourselves for wanting it.  At which point (Given that he was basically asking us to commit treason) the PCs collectively had to gather our jaws off the floor at such unfathomable self-righteousness and hypocrisy.

So anyway, is the module written to encourage PCs to join Palpatine or is it just our GM's style?

Re: General OOC

I haven't read more than about half the first module, but I would say its probably your GM's style. Bail was working for the resistance from the beginning, considering he snuck Yoda and Kenobi back onto Coruscant so that they could go to the Jedi Temple. Then he helped Yoda escape from the Senate building after he tried to assassinate Palpatine.

Re: General OOC

Sounds like your GM's problem.

If you want to join my DoD game, then you won't find that so much of an issue - then again, I'm cutting in halfway through the first module 'cause of the higher starting level on SWSEC, making the players established agents for Organa already.

Come on, you think Bail would have raised a daughter like Leia if he'd been that much of a apple pie?

Re: General OOC

Oh I don't mean I think Bail is trying to help the empire, I just wondered if everybody was deliberately being written as such a moron.  It's we, the players, that are contemplating joining the Empire because Bail ticked us off so badly.  Being scolded as bad, bad people for wanting a heavy repeating blaster and receiving a patronising lecture on why he can't help because it would put him at risk if the transaction was traced when one character died, one lost an arm, and my character lost a lung saving his agent's life was. . . jarring.

I'll check out your game.  Halfway through module 1 is probably where my knowledge leads off, as our group just concluded three weeks (real time) negotiations with an important tribal character that will not be spoiled, only to discover that the important character didn't actually want our help and we were being fed misinformation by the translator apparently in hopes of getting us to help for free, which precipitated a desire on the parts of some players for a tribal massacre.

I love anything cinnamon, except for the looks of her hair - yuck! - but don't show me that now!  I'm sicker than I've ever been in memory with some kind of stomach flu.  So much so that I'm actually vomiting blood.  Ewwwwwwwwww!  :(

Re: General OOC

The Mandalorians, even in KotoR, weren't a species. They're more like a social club.

All you need to be a Mandalorian is to accept Mandalore as your leader and accept the Mandalorian way of life - War.

So, up until he became Mandalore, Boba Fett wasn't a Mandalorian. He just had access to a lot of their old supply dumps.

Kind of like the Hobgoblin in Spider-man. He wasn't actually anything to do with the Green Goblin at first, he just nicked his stuff.
