In reply to Judge Messalen (msg #1):

Are our horses able to learn individual tricks?  I know they are trained in Combat Riding, but with Int 2, how many more tricks are possible?

Re: OOC: Conversation 3

Well, I put in a house rule that all PC horses would have the EFFECTIVE benefit of Combat Riding in terms of being a Trained Mount based on the Mounted Combat rules on p 224. I did this specifically so we could have mounted combat without every PC's horse bucking him out of the saddle after the first weapon report.

That doesn't mean they get all the tricks associated with full Combat Riding training as per the Handle Animal skill on p79. In order to get the six tricks that come with that full training, the full training must be applied. Thus, PCs who did train their mounts (hello, Senor Domingo), still had tangible benefits to applying the Combat Riding training.

Separate tricks may be learned through the normal process described in the Animal Handling skill. See the "The Trigger Rule" sidebar on p78.

In reply to Travis Sunday (msg #4):

Hmmm, I'll probably have to check that out. The last AMC western mini-series (at least last one I know about) was outstanding ("Broken Trail" with Robert Duvall and Thomas Haden Church), so I'm definitely willing to check out another one. As long as there aren't any aliens in it. Thanks for the heads-up.

Re: OOC: Conversation 3

To reiterate, any PCs who have completed their back story--including the story of entry into FG, alone or with pards--as well as completing their leveling-up (with Judge approval) may enter Ch9 when ready.

I would ask for a slow approach. The Judge's preliminary posts set the stage for entry into town. Please post something that advances your PC toward the town, allowing the Judge to follow-up with more description to introduce the flavor of the place. In other words, please don't jump too far ahead all at once, bellying up to the saloon in the first post.

I have a new profile picture (see to the left) and a new profile. You can see that on the cast list.
