The Judge will post a narrative by tomorrow morning in Ch27 to advance the plot, as it seems clear the heroes are camping here for the remainder of the overnight.

Judge,

Re: Earnest's suggestion that some of the pards could check the invaders' base camp to see if the leader's horse has returned, and to check as to whether any of the hardcases have done likewise, then join up with the others in Rockville  -- how much travel-time would be required for the base camp party to rejoin those who have proceeded on to Rockville?

Based upon the wording in Mag. #525 of the IC thread, it appears that present game-time is an hour or so before mid-day (Earnest would know the exact time, I believe).

Thanks.

PS. Based upon their familiarity with the area, I am thinking that the PCs (IC) have a better understanding of this issue than do I, OOC. :)

In reply to Jacob Richardsen (msg # 395):

If on horseback, it's no more than 30 minutes between each town and the invader's camp area at normal pace (not running). On foot, about twice as long. Yes, it's roughly quarter-past 11 when the pards awake, and we'll assume another 10 minutes to assemble, discuss and prepare to depart. So figure 11:30 a.m. by the time anyone heads out.

So you can compute travel time based on that, although that doesn't include whatever activities the heroes might undertake in any given location. It's just the approximate time to travel from one point to another.

The pards are refreshed enough to avoid the -2 to Vigor rolls mentioned earlier. However, they aren't fully rested, and depending on what transpires, the Judge might ask for Vigor checks against Fatigue at some point during the day.

The heroes are awakened by their hosts upon the return of Daniel Knight, just less than an hour before the sun would blaze directly overhead on this warm July day.

So the pardners rested just an hour or two?....Tommy was picturing maybe 4-5 hours of rest in a nice bed before moving on...haha no rest for the weary

No, the pards awoke at sunrise and returned to Springdale before 8 a.m. They got roughly 3-3.5 hours of sleep. Remember also that a few of the pards got sleep near the mesa, while Jake and RS kept watch (finally relieved by Padre).

But correct, no rest for the weary.

Having set the stage (Msg. #555 of the IC thread), Jake will be interested in hearing the Woolverine's and Eirish's thoughts on how to best proceed when trailing human prey (assuming that Tracy is unable to confirm, through his sign-reading magicks, that the human sign was made by the estimable Red Shirt). :)

Judge,

Would it be common knowledge as to the likely reception (from the French powers-that-be) that would be afforded to any civilian Norte' Americanos who happen to wander across the border?

Is a dice-roll appropriate?

Thanks.

General insight might be commonly known, without a roll, but the Judge would require a Common Knowledge roll for any particulars.

The general knowledge is that it's not illegal to cross the border, although if a body ran afoul of the law there, the consequences are likely grave.

If you want to recall more than that, make a roll.

It's 1877, pard. We're in an alternate reality, which is very close to our historical universe, but not exactly the same. There have been some recent notes by players and GM about the differences in history in the mid 19th century wherein Mexico still controls some of the southwest, backed by the French (and the Foreign Legion). That's the primary difference. Obviously there are various and sundry cascading differences, so even if your idea is not appropriate for a strict historical Western, it might be here.

NP for the Judge, just figured you and Daniel would ride back quickly to meet with the telegraph operator.

However, in msg # 627 in Ch 27, the Judge asked for players to state whether they were going with Daniel and Tommy, or doing something else.

Only Earnest has answered that question.

And to be 100% clear, the current question is:

Who is going with Tommy, Daniel, and Earnet to Springdale to see the telegraph man to aid Tommy's plan?

And if you don't go with, what are you doing? (Even if it's just "staying in Rockville and waiting for Tommy's return," that's fine. Just need to know what you have in mind.
