Woot!! We just hit 28,000 (public) posts. That is quite impressive for an RPoL game (most of my other games here on this site crash and burn within six months of launch, it seems).

Although we arguably all deserve a pat on the back, I am of the firm opinion that the largest dose of Kudos (if, indeed, that is how one measures such things; or, as Jake would put it, "the most bodacious atta-boy") should go to the Judge.

BTW, the Judge didn't intend to squash any role-playing in Chapter 6 regarding speaking to RS and each other. Kudos to the professor for pushing forward.

Please feel free to post as you wish; my goal was to avoid wasting time trying to get RS to answer questions he can't answer, when, again, he isn't the key to the adventure.

FYI, the Judge is pausing briefly in case anyone wants to chime in re: the professor's suggestions for travel back into the caves. The Judge will move forward within 24 hours, using Earnest's suggestion unless anyone objects or suggests something else.

As noted previously, the Judge figures our progress will slow over holiday season. NP, please continue free posting in the game forum as you like. The Judge will, too, although my frequency of posting may change for a few days next week.

The RP about the caves and especially now the spider cave is quite interesting. The group should take as much RL time as desired to put together a plan for the third foray into the spider's alcove -- this time with specific objectives.

Meanwhile, just posting my note from the game forum about Tommy's status in the game. He's been logging in and keeping up with posts based on the Judge's RL knowledge, but has't posted himself in almost a month. The Judge has been in contact with Tommy in PM/DM and is following up to see where things stand. Hoping Tommy can continue playing, even if he needs a break.

The Judge has heard from both Tommy and Tracy, who have been posting minimally in the last few weeks. Both have had RL challenges lately, but both are expected to continue in the game.

Both need to make Athletics rolls for preparing makeshift armor, before we continue.

The Judge hopes other characters will resume posting in the game forum in the coming week. moving forward to the third foray into the spider cave after Tommy and Tracy make their rolls and resume participation.

In reading back over the Messages pertaining to the previous fight against the spiders, it looks like a lot of stomping was indulged in by the heroes. Also, since the number of lanterns is limited, the pards fashioned some torches to wave at the spider-horde.

Also, Tommy dug some shallow ditches that were filled with lantern oil. I'm not sure if we have enough extra lantern-oil to attempt this particular tactic this time around.

I've lost track (a little) of our in-game prep-work. Have we (IC) fashioned torches in preparation for this go-'round against the spiders? Do we want to consider ditches?
