Re: OOC Thread - Kingdom

Guys,
I'm on a plane from London to Tokyo as of tomorrow. I'm thinking my internet access will be a trifle spotty over the next two weeks. I'm specifically thinking here of the two days of inebriated unconsciousness after New Year and the barbaric feasting over Xmas. Looking forward to wearing a kilt and carrying a deadly weapon in my sock.

Merry Xmas and a Happy Hogmanay (New Years Day is a day of the dying where I come from)

Seems like it.  No one declaring actions, conversing, etc. *shrug*

Y'all've met a new race are traveling in a previously unexplored region (for humans) and have lots of opportunity to learn, to guide the story as PCs.  Maybe work is pulling everyone away?  I still check every day. :)

Sorry, I was moving house and without internet for a while. Longer than I intended but you just try getting a wireless router working when the instructions are in Japanese. :)

I'll post in the next day or so. Diplomacy and stuff is generally Zenobia's thing so I'll work something out.

Yeah, I am sorry, but it seems that Zenobia just doesn't keep up.  If you do not mind, I shall NPC her and then we will move forward at a standard pace.  Anyone who does not post will be NPCed for that day.  I'm bored too cause people just don't post (except you apparently).

Thing is, I don't want to just be telling a story.  This is an interactive game.  Players need to take initiative and drive. :)

Re: OOC Thread - Kingdom

Sorry, I was waiting for the results of a wisdom check. I was checking practically every day and it didn't seem to arrive. It now seems like I got a private message when everyone else got a request to roll wisdom. That's not the way I read it. I apologize if this misunderstanding has slowed the game down. I was simply waiting for feedback.

Re: OOC Thread - Kingdom

Ah, no problem.  Thought we lost you.

Just an fyi for all, I don't always provide feedback on rolls I ask you to make.  Failed checks especially, but often I don't exactly indicate what was the result of a successful roll, I just incorporate it into the story, especially if everyone passes.

One thing I would like for all to do is don't wait.  I can drive the story, sure, but if I do that, folks tend to get angry with me for "taking over their characters".  Ask Genovia, I prefer to let characters drive the story and I just fill in the details.

But if there is a potential lull in the future, I'll just simply keep going.

XP Rewards - An Old Foe, A Potential Ally

Here are the xp rewards for the adventure so far:

[Private to Genovia Swiftfoot: xp - 2075]
[Private to Tyler Darkwatch: xp - 2250]
[Private to Zenobia Aurelius Gracchus: xp - 2000]

This is for combat encounters along the way and roleplaying.  If this levels you, go ahead and make the changes.  I will try to provide more periodic xp as we move faster.

Zenobia, as titular leader of the group, you need to let Jarsichok know where you are going next.  On to the Kradok or to try to find 'the source' of humans on this world?

At this point, I am waiting on either OOC or IC posts on what equipment SLOTS you want to replace/fill with Echtinik equipment.  Just tell me the slot: head, cloak, neck, shoulders, arms, shield, weapon(s), torso, waist, legs, feet, or accessories.

Re: XP Rewards - An Old Foe, A Potential Ally

Non-magical in most cases.  The Echtinik are not prone to enchantment type magics.  At best you will find lighter, master-work equivalent, and hardened versions of what you are wearing now.  For example:

Thak-hide armor (studded leather) - +2 AC, +6 Max DEX, 0 Armor Check Penalty, -10% Arcane Spell Failure, 30 ft/rd speed, 12 lbs -- DR 1 (magical)

Jarsichok will provide you with tinikean-weave rope, which is stronger and lighter than silk.  The rope is free as much as you want.

No, they do not have range weapons like that.  At best they might be able to rig a bow with their tinikean-weave, but it is not something they have on hand.  You will most likely be looking at melee weapons, armor, or accessories.

Roll attacks and damage, Genovia, Tyler, Zenobia...even the bard can get a swing in.  -1 attacks for everyone.  For Tyler and Zenobia because of awkward positions.  For Genovia for holding Zenobia.

[Private to Genovia Swiftfoot: The boots steady you pretty well so you get no minus as if you were standing on the ground.]

According to the last summary:

Genovia    -5

Though Genovia looks the worse for wear (her -5 is a higher percentage of her total hp).

XP Rewards as follows:

[Private to Zenobia Aurelius Gracchus: Zenobia - RP = 300; combat = 200; healing = 100]
[Private to Genovia Swiftfoot: Genovia - RP = 350; combat = 400]
[Private to Tyler Darkwatch: Tyler   - RP = 450; combat = 350; healing = 100]

Loot is at the bottom of the wall if you want to take time to go get it.  Denala is out of the cave with Bedawry by now.  Bedawry will assumed to receive healing as soon as you catch up with him again.
