Re: OOC Board
I'm just amazed! 4 original players coming back after so long.  I know Umfrey wasn't truly an original-original player but he came in soon enough, at least before the first combat and that is original enough for me.

Good to see you all.

At least I kept pretty good notes.  The NPCs and the Adventure Journal threads are fairly up to date.

Sounds like we can convert to Pathfinder then, I'll rMail Rath and Carlo and see if they are still around on RPOL.  I don't think I had anyones email addresses.  I'd like to give them at least a few weeks to respond so could NPC them at first if needed.

I have a Google Docs spreadsheet for Pathfinder that I've been using in my other game.  I'd like to use it for this game too as it helps me a lot as I have a master sheet that grabs values from all the PCs so I can keep track of everyone in one simple little sheet.  Anyone have problems with that, or accessing Google Docs?  You would have to share your email address with me (can PM it to me) so I can share the sheet with you.

I probably won't be able to prep the sheets for this game until the end of the week, but if you want to start thinking about character design, try to keep your original stats, subtract off any of the old 3.5 racial modifiers and add the pathfinder ones.  If I remember right, everyone just leveled up to level 2.  Pathfinder offers a lot more customization, so feel free to swap out for some of the new abilities or feats but try to keep your character concept the same if you can.  I'll allow just about anything from an official Paizo source.  Any Forgotten Realms stuff still applies though might have to be modified.  If I remember right, everyone got a free regional feat, this would be essentially the same as the two free traits you get with Pathfinder.

Re: OOC Board
I wasnt really expecting a response. So Im surprised that everyone has replied so quickly.

Id be up for getting this game restarted.

Im not really practised with Pathfinder but I know the basics as Im playing a pacifist cleric in another game here on Rpol using the rules. Hopefully now were level 2 rebuilding Umfrey will be simple enough as long as you give me plenty of time to do it.

Looking forward to getting going again. Im glad to be considered one of the original characters. For me Umfrey was an odd character and not something Id tried before or since so I reckon I should be able to slip back into character easy enough, remembering the story and all the other characters involved might be more difficult.

Re: OOC Board
After a long hiatus, I started playing a table-top 4e campaign last week. On a whim, I logged into RPOL for the first time in a long time. Must be something in the air.

I would play if the game starts up again!

Re: OOC Board
Aww yeah!

Glad you are around to play Rath, he has a certain style to him that I haven't seen duplicated and you play that character very well.  There was a great dynamic between him and Sigismund which is rare with a Paladin, props to Sig on that one too.

Now if divine intervention sparks Carlo to return we would be golden.

This group is probably one of the most interesting parties I've ever played with, unique characters that have found a way to work together despite some personality differences.

In the last thread there was a plan in action to split the party since Durl and Umfrey were the only remaining players at the time.  We can try to work with that plan or retcon some of it.

Re: OOC Board
I'll need a little time (this weekend) to read through the game to get the details back in my mind.

I'm not against converting to Pathfinder, but I don't have access to the rules (except, I think, a beta test version from a few years ago), so I would need some hand-holding.

Re: OOC Board
There is no hurry on my part, I need a bit of time myself.  I'll happily help out with any conversion issues, as a player, pathfinder isn't all that different than 3.5.  Characters tend to be a bit more powerful and have more options available.  The downside is, a lot of the enemies are more powerful too.  I believe in 3.5 a 1st level NPC (with character levels) was a CR 1, in Pathfinder a 2nd level NPC is CR 1.

Everything you need too know about Pathfinder is here:  http://www.d20pfsrd.com
And this seems like a pretty good guide into what is different between D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136890

I also have the Character Sheet ready, it helps with a lot of the math at least.  Just PM me an email address that I can share a google doc with you.  If you can't access google docs you can do your own ASCII sheet and I will most likely plug it into google docs so I can keep track of them all in one place.

Here is an example of the sheet in action for viewing: https://docs.google.com/spread...xVGw0dVZiLTd6VUNFdEE

Cool, 5 out of 6. :)

Well, I've read through the many threads and should be up to date. I'll see if I can find the time to convert the char this weekend.

Re: OOC Board
Lately, instead of rolling for HP, I've been using 1/2 Hit Die +1, this is actually already built into the sheets I've sent out.  It ends up being slightly above average and most likely better than rolling for HP unless you are really lucky with the dice roller.

Anyone strongly against that method?

There are a few really cute bard variants which I like. Sadly, none of them qualifies as "Ciara 2.0" ;)

Re: OOC Board
Humans in 3.5 got no bonus to ability scores so go ahead and add the +2 to any ability.  If you need to shuffle abilities around slightly to maintain the design of your character go ahead and do so.

Umfrey and Durl, I don't have my books on me at the moment, were shield dwarves different at all than the standard dwarf?  If so we might have to modify them slightly from their pathfinder version.

Re: OOC Board
In the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting the only variation with Shield Dwarves and regular Dwarves is the bonus languages. So I'm guessing I can treat Umfrey as a typical dwarf for generation purposes.

Cool, I couldn't remember if they were different or not.

I'm not expecting to start the game back up until after the new year, this time of year is flaky anyways, best to start up after the craziness has subsided.

I'll try to go over the sheets this weekend.

I'm also not completely done yet.

You mentioned an extra (regional) feat? Didn't find that on the original sheet... is that still valid? Just to cover it all: would two traits be ok as well, instead?

Re: OOC Board
I guess I was mistaken, you could originally chose from special regional feats but they were not extra.  You can choose 2 traits then, as per the rules from the website I linked to above.
