DM - Jeff:
I know Sigismund is probably already breaching his comfort zone... it's tough to be a paladin in a shady world.

What?
The paladin is planning on going to the darkside? I knew it!!!
In my mind, Durl is a dwarf first. And men have their ideals and morals... as long as it doesn't hurt dwarven-kin, Durl doesn't have any problem.

Can you imagine a Dwarven Paladin in a world of men?

As long as the GM is able to continue, I'm game.
Who knows about adding new players... it has some risks... we may consider 2nd characters ;)

Re: OOC Board
I hadn't thought about having existing players play additional characters.  That could work, you could have another character in a different group.  Good idea.

On another note, anyone opposed to using Hero Points in this game?  Could come in handy.  You could all start out with 1 hero point.

I vote in favor of hero points. Really like karma/bennies/hero points/destiny points... however they are called.

Cool, I think that is a good majority.  So nice of Carlo to stop by to put in his vote too ;)

Okay, Everyone gets 1 Hero Point to play with.  You get more for doing cool stuff or after key moments but can never have more than 3.

Re: OOC Board
Additional characters could work. It might be fun to flavour them as secondary characters, perhaps as apprentices, servants or squires of the current characters. So someone not in Sigismundís group could play his squire whilst someone else could maybe play an apprentice to Umfrey. Obviously theyíd be weaker characters but they would have added depth and a reason to hang out with the heroes.

Hero points sound good, Iíll have to go read what you can do with them :)

Re: OOC Board
I already envisioned Rath as a secondary character to Sigismund. :)

I saw that too, it was sort of what inspired the idea.

Re: OOC Board
Sorry but itís a weakness of mine that all the characters I love have to sing every so often. Itís probably why I always end up playing bards.

Yeah it's good to have a sing. It's a shame Ciara not there to hear Umfrey's singing :)

Re: OOC Board
Durl, Rath and Umfrey, a little bit of a delay.  Something in Ciara and Sigismunds thread might have an effect on your current thread... no promises ;)

Ciara and Sigismund, if I could ask for 1 or 2 more posts this week, that would be awesome.  I know you guys are busy, or at least Sigismund, so if that isn't possible I understand.

I'm going to move forward tomorrow morning (for me), about 12-16 hours from this post.  If Sigismund can get in before that I'll post as soon as I can.

Rath's Initiative?
Game mechanics question:
Since I used a hero point to act out of turn on Round 6 (moving my initiative to just before the enemy), Rath shouldn't get any more actions on Round 6, right? I'll need to wait until the beginning of Round 7, after Umfrey has gone. Or am I missing something?

Re: Rath's Initiative?
I'm not sure, I kind of treated your hero point like an additional move action in your current turn, it seemed like the same thing to me, but then of course the enemy closed on you, I guess it prevented an AOO. Either way I think you get your regular turn.  If you don't think I handled that correctly let me know.

Re: Rath's Initiative?
Okay, so I looked it up, you are right, if you act out of turn it is like a readied action and moves your initiative to the new count.  So I guess it depends on the desired outcome.

A) Act out of Turn: Enemy takes 5' step, you move, it gets AoO and stays where it is.  Next turn: You act just before it and it isn't adjacent to you.

B) Additional Action: You Move, it catches up and attacks.  Next turn: You act normally.

Either way, you still get the same amount of actions, it's just your initiative shifts to the end of the group (or top of the next round).

I can change the result of the action if you want.

Upon further thought though, I think there might be other complications with the 5' step and move.  Just because you are getting an additional action doesn't mean you can break the 5' step rules.  I don't think you can do a 5' step, and a regular move, but I'm willing to let it slide this time, especially since I'm unsure of it.
I thought I read somewhere that you can use a Hero Point to get the use of a feat you do not possess but I don't see that in the book, that might be an option too though, as long as you meet most of the qualifications for the feat.
