"Guh!  何ですか? 不可能!  この魔法は何ですか?!!!"

When Mittens snaps out of it, she's got a horrified look in her eyes, but a biig grin on her lips!

"That was amazing!  Wow!"

She tries to catch her breath.

Shayock looks a little surprised herself and says, "I... don't believe I have seen that expression in reaction to that herb. What did you see?" she reaches out for the beanbag.

Shayock looks at the soda curiously and examines its bottom and top as if trying to understand what Joe just gave her.

"Oh, Mittens probably saw exactly what you intended her to." He hands Mittens hers, and opens his own drink, commenting "Now, responding as intended?  That's where me and Mittens share a lot in common." through nonstandard standards.

Yes he noticed Shayock staring at pull-tab technology. Incidental demonstration is what passes for tact with Joe at this moment.

Mits accepts the offered soda and imbibes.  "Thanks again Wonder Mask!"

She hands back the beanbag and tries her best to recount for Shayock what she experienced.  "What fun!"

Shayock looks puzzled for a moment, then ahas. "You must be one of those warriors who gets excited and even happy from scary things. The spore was supposed to bring to mind something enjoyable or pleasant, yet not too soothing. For example, for some people, it gives the illusion of flying."

She smiles up at Joe, "I do not decide what exactly people see... that is usually decided by their own mind. The fear spore, for example, would bring to mind whatever you are most afraid of. This one had its intended effect, I just... never saw someone have scared eyes like she did."

She is having a hard time with the coke tab. Might be because she has fat, stubby fingers. Might be because she is new to the concept. Might even be because she is only a little stronger than a human her size, which would be a small child.

Admittedly Joe is getting kind of complacent with 'small child' to still mean capable of hurling someone through a brick wall one way or the other.

"I'm going to assume you mean never seen scared eyes from that particular spore" As it would mean the also mentioned Fear spores aren't that great.

At Shayock's continued can crisis, Joe wishes he had splurged on bottles.  "Would you believe those used to be harder to open?  Now the only hard part is getting a nail or fingertip under the tab in the first place."

"Well I loove your fun spore!  And yes.  I am one of those types."

Mits is also one of those types who will summon a big tablet with a video demo of how to open a soda can.  Ok, it's really and advertisement, but it still works.

Shayock smiles and nods. It takes a few tries, but she does open the can herself before trying to drink it. She winces. She isn't disgusted, but it did look like she was shocked enough to react like she would from stubbing her toe. "What is this? What a strange drink..."

When you really think about it, carbonated drinks are one of those things that makes Earth look alien compared to alien planets. At least, the alien planets that don't have carbonated drinks. XD

Well duh.  Alien planets put dry ice in their drinks.  "Well, they also have canned iced tea and coffee if you don't like bubbly stuff."

"There is lots and lots of air dissolved into the liquid," Mittens explains, "Carbon dioxide to be more precise.  The fiz is to tickle your mouth and innards as you drink.  Makes for a fun drink!  May cause belching."

Shayock says, "Oh! I meant no offense, Joe. Thank you for the drink." She chugs some as if to prove she likes the drink. Then gets hiccups.

She looks at Mittens. "I understand the idea of air bubbles in a liquid... but how they caused the drink to create its own is amazing."

"Vague and poorly defined psychokinetic ability." At least, he's pretty sure that's what it is.  "It's mostly personal augmentation, with fringe benefits like putting astral projections in a choke hold.  Though I've got a few other tricks I won't get into."

Mittens vs. sock puppets!  FIGHT!

"Teleportation powers.  Gravity control.  Or whatevers.  I conjure heavy objects to hit enemies with.  Makes for really fun times when said objects have next to zero mass after the fact."

She demonstrates by conjuring a forklift then punting it 30' into the air.

Shayock turns her head to the sound of panic coming from around the corner of the block and a giant robot turns the corner! A man is piloting it and he looks like the stereotypical mad scientist as he laughs maniacally.

Mits puts the forklift in the path of the badguy - an irresistible stomp target.  But she also hides a portable hole underneath so that stomping the forklift will cause the mecha to stumble.

"Please flee in a safe manner," Mittens instructs the people using a megaphone.

Shayock says, "That is very big..."

The scientist answers Joe with, "Both! Hahahahahaha!" and goes to stomp the irresistible stomp target! And stumbles (but doesn't fall). "haHA! Nice trick there! After all, how could I resist stomping on an otherwise sturdy object in order to show how powerful my robot is?!"

Shayock makes some gestures with her hands while chanting something in an alien language and then rushes towards the robot!

The people do not flee in a safe manner. They flee in a chaotic manner and the cliche of a woman tripping and somehow being frozen with fear when she was not frozen seconds ago happens.

Joe fields this frozen with fear NPC in a graceful and considerate mann-yeah we know where this is going.

"Congratulations, you've just won ten seconds of invulnerability!  And a coupon for a free icecream" ...No, there's still going to be a catch  "Enjoy it while it lasts he says, as he (physically) harmlessly throws her sailing through the air into the distance.

She lands with three seconds of invulnerability to spare outside a distant icecream shop.

Mits wasn't aiming for prone anyway, though that earthquake power is awfully funny!  The mecha's foot is now immobilized with the force of a mini black hole!

"Aaall right," Mits comments from the Leroy Jenkins teddybear.  May as well buff the teddy.

FWOOSH!  Some of the robot's speed is siphoned off and Shayock finds herself capable of incredible movement AND attack speed!  (Along with a damage debuff to the mecha / buff to Shayock.)

Mits' rescue probably wouldn't have been any more dignified for the pedestrian lady.

The lady screams! "EEEEeeeeeeee...."

Shayock runs up the side of the robot before landing herself on its shoulder and looking for means of getting inside!

The mad scientist says, "Oh... so thaaaat's how it is, eh?" and the foot detaches! Then the leg stomps into a nearby car to make a new foot! "HA! Behold my genius!" He then fires missiles from the robot's gun-arm at Mittens and Joe!

Meanwhile at the ice cream store, the lady stands up, brushes herself off, and goes inside the store for some ice cream.

"Ok I have to admit that's pretty impre WOAH!"

Mits starts siphoning health to compensate for the missile damage to her and Wonder Mask.  Lack of attention being paid to the teddybear is probably going to cost that villain, and result in lots of lulz.

"Hey villain!  Ever tangle with nonspace entities?!"

Mits conjures some diversionary troller pets to troll the guy.
