I've seen it, and cyclops doesn't make his appearance yet.

Nah, it's not Cyclops.  Supposed to be his brother, not someone old enough to be his dad.

Re: OOC Thread

His brother huh?  As an adult in the 60's... is this even biologically feasible outside of the few freak latelife maternity stories? :P

Re: OOC Thread

I did say 'supposed to be his brother'.  Far as I remember, Havoc is supposed to be a couple of years older than Cyclops, hence the reason I asked if anyone else noticed characters who are supposed to be too young for missions in the 60s.

Re: OOC Thread

Oh, on the same note, did you notice Ice Man in the previous Xmen movies?  He's supposed to be one of the original Xmen, so his current movie iteration is like 2 decades too young.

Re: OOC Thread

Nah, Iceman isn't that much younger than he's supposed to be.  10 years maybe, but not 20.  If I remember correctly, the originals were Angel, Beast, Cyclops, and Marvel Girl (Jean Grey), and had been gathered quite some time after Professor X got stuck in his wheelchair.

Re: OOC Thread

Good news, everyone, and by good I mean bad.

I don't know what happened, but it seems I can no longer put together a single post.

It may be some sort of writer's block, probably compounded by the fact that I really wanted to go back to having a good game, and realized that I couldn't.

All I know is that I can't even seem to write an OOC post anymore... True, I got interrupted a lot while writing this one, but even if I hadn't been, I think it would still have taken me an unreasonable amount of time and effort.

Bottom line, yours truly is out of commission.

I hope it is temporary; even so, I am currently unable to move the game forward in any significant manner.

Now, if any of you feels that they can, and want, take over, I would be happy to promote them to GM, and offer as much help as I can in continuing the game.

Barring that, however, I'm afraid the game is going on hiatus.

I'm really sorry about that, but I really don't see an alternatives.

Re: OOC Thread

=\ Hrmmm.  What sort of blocks are you running into?  Is it plot development, etc etc?  Perhaps soundboarding it with some brainstorming from the team could help shake loose some direction.

Dead most likely, seeing as last we left our heroes they were surrounding by the hungry dead.

Re: OOC Thread

I think I'd actually removed this from my sticky list.  Kinda glad I based Nephi so much on me though, if we're going to get going again.  Means I have less work to do to get back in character.

Re: OOC Thread

Well, I need to reread a lot of the material, but I was looking at some online sessions of Pathfinder and I realized two things: 1) how easy things are in Unisystem compared to D20 and 2) that I miss playing.

We could give it another try if we still have players around...

Re: OOC Thread

So, re-reading the main thread: the zombies are chanting TPK, there are more baddies on the way, and soon you should face just enough bad guys to actually challenge you (i.e., make you start burning those DP instead of hoarding them).

Good.

Geoff and the good Reverend are marching bravely forward, straight from the frying pan and into the fire.

Also good.

John's timeline is still at the beginning of the story. Not so good, I needed that part of the storyline to be defined by the time Geoff and the Rev arrive at the fort, I guess it will have to be retconned.

Downloaded MapTool, will try to make a tactical map, trying to locate an appropriate stretch of road on G maps.

In the interest of moving the game along, I have decided that we are approximately here:

37.12381, -76.84256

This may or may not square with the established timeline. The good news is that, if it doesn't, and your characters notice, you now have some clue as to another effect of the zombie invasion: time and space become unreliable. It was supposed to happen much further down the timeline (several months of in-game time), but real-life time will have to suffice.

I imported a portion of the image in MapTool, and I am working on making an understandable tactical map. Hopefully. If someone has experience with maptool and wants to help out with tokens and whatnot, please feel free.

Re: OOC Thread

Frankly I was going to be burning the DP anyway, just to have a decent chance to hit thanks to the Taint.

Re: OOC Thread

To be perfectly honest seeing as I started the game off with an NPC and have since the games death and revival, lost my rule book and no longer have any idea who the character is or how I was playing her, I'm not particularly excited or interested in resuming the game. So if you'd return Karen to her NPC status and remove me from the game, I'd very much appreciate that.

Re: OOC Thread

You mean aside from having feelings for my character due to him saving you?  Oh well.  Although, it should be easy enough to find a PDF online, or use the free Witchcraft PDF (which has the Unisystem rules, just without the zombie apocalypse specific stuff).

Re: OOC Thread

OK, so, at this point I think we have two players. I removed Karen from the game, and I am trying to contact Monica... Unfortunately, I think I may have to NPC a number of characters for a while.

Ah well.

Meanwhile, I am slowly trying to put together a tactical map, should be an easy one but I can't seem to (surprise double shifts don't help, but the next week should be quiet).

Re: OOC Thread

A year later...  I'm glad to come back and not see this one in the deleted bin.  Whether or not I'm able to return to play, I greatly enjoyed this character concept and the vibe of fluid narration at the onset.  If I were to apply to games that requested RP samples, I would quote posts made here :)  Hope you've all been well.

Re: OOC Thread

Very well then... Let's try this again.

Once more with feeling :P

If I'm not mistaken, I have three players in as many threads.

Most unfortunate.

Any suggestions on how to turn this particular lemon into yet another tasty lemonade?
