Re: OOC Thread

General note: if you roll an unmodified 9+ for a heart/spine shot, please also roll your gun's damage - you miss the heart/spine but you hit the body, which can result in the zombie falling back if you deal enough damage (these first few falls were a generous gift, but don't get used to it :P).

Re: OOC Thread

Action sequence for BAU: First Come First Serve.

Nephi is in the back looking for a sword, so he can post the progress of his search (a cumulative 4 Success Levels are required to make sense of the mess and find the sabre: it should take up to a couple of Turns).

Jane and Geoff are in the front and trying to keep four zombies at bay. Aiming for a limb is possible, with a penalty of -2: 15+ points of base damage (note that zombies do not suffer the x2 modifier for bullets and slashing weapons) will sever the limb.

Hector and Monica are in the alley. There are no zombies there...

Incidentally, after the current zombie attack ends I'll wrap up the first "virtual session", which means I'll start distributing XP.

Re: OOC Thread

We have a small continuity problem: Nephi saw the car parked in front of the shop, and he parked there as well.

However, Hector is suggesting that, him having "pulled into the parking lot", it should actually be out back.

So, the options I see are:

1: Hector parked in the back lot, Nephi parked on the other side of the shop

2: Nephi and Hector both parked behind the shop

3: Nephi and Hector both parked in the road on the side of the shop

4: Nephi and Hector both parked the street in front of the shop

With P being the Police car and N being Nephi's, and P1 and N1 representing configuration 1, this would work out as follows:

                | |
 --------------- --------
          N1

          P4 N4
 --------------- --------
 QUEEN'S |P N|
 GAMBIT'S |3 3|
 PAWN SHOP | |
 --------------- |
P1 P2 N
2
--------------- | | |

The map is not in scale. N1 can probably double as N4 as well...

We have been working on the assumption that both cars were out front, so I think 4 is the option closest to what we've been assuming so far.

Re: OOC Thread

Uh.....wow. Didn't expect you to do a whole diorama project. It's no big deal; I originally thought I'd parked in front, so let's just go with that.

Re: OOC Thread

I rearranged the last few posts just a little bit... Nephi, you got two SL, another two and you'll find:

Civil War Sabre (Replica) D8(4)xSTR

It's just different enough from a rapier to feel slightly awkward (-1 to offensive rolls), but it does beat a pipe, and it certainly beats being unarmed...

I'm thinking N1 and P4 is the closest to what I pictured.  And getting armed with something I can use is a definate plus.

Re: OOC Thread

BAU folks: the inner door will keep the zombies at bay for two, maybe three Turns. By then, Nephi should have retrieved his brand-new fake-old sabre, and the three characters still left in the shop should be able to reach the building's door and head out.

Re: OOC Thread

Hopefully I will have an answer for you by tomorrow, this last couple of days was... Interesting.

Meanwhile, Hector's last post brought up an important point: what isn't written on your character sheet doesn't exist.

You should ensure that I correctly wrote down everything you have in your gear, which I probably didn't, and give me an appropriate wake-up call :P

Thank you for your cooperation...

Re: OOC Thread

Just a note about Nephi's Touch of Healing - it is related to the LDS practice of 'blessing the sick', so if it's not done right, Nephi won't believe it'll work.  To help with this, could everyone post their character's middle name(s) somewhere, like the character profile?  The person giving the blessing needs to know the recipient's full name.  And I feel that posting the prayer which would be said each time it's done would be a little sacriligous, so won't do that.

Re: OOC Thread

I have to remark that your knowledge, as a player, of other characters' information doesn't transfer to Nephi, who will certainly not know, for instance, Hector and Geoff's full names, having just been introduced to them.

You would need player knowledge of those details in order to post the actual prayer, but as it seems that is not going to happen, all you actually need is for Nephi to ask, at a suitable time, for the other characters' full names, in the IC thread, and get an answer, regardless of your knowledge as a player of that information.

Re: OOC Thread

One post for Geoff, who has something to show you, then Nephi, to get the whole group out of the building and closer to Hctor and Monica, then I'll post for the car scene, and then we are back to the normal rotation, with Hector posting first.

Re: OOC Thread

Little help here... I'm counting for Geoff three shots fired and a magazine change, which would mean an ammo total of 15 + 2x15 + 12. Could somebody please double-check that? I am also having some doubts on the "double tap" part in the first shot, which could mean an extra shot fired.

Re: OOC Thread

Am updating now.

OK: Four rounds fired and one up the spout makes for 10 rounds left in the partial mag and two spare 15 round mags. The mag in the gun is full now.

Re: OOC Thread

I looked back at the old posts, and it appears he "double-tapped" just the once in the beginning. Which would be 4 shots fired, unless I missed something.

I love when characters do all the right thing without players realizing it :P

Unfortunately, while I am talking about Hector (and he *probably* doesn't know why :P), I am not talking about the car.

Grrr... Obviously, when I said I can't complain about my work load last week, Murphy was listening: now I can.

I'll try to answer ASAP, but it looks like it's going to be an interesting week.

Seven, my lucky number!

Actually that's 42, I'll try to hotwire the car next turn...

So, Geoff is in the van, Hector is carrying the wounded woman (where, again?), and Nephi is going to follow him.

Re: OOC Thread

Yup, Geoff will nose the van up to the wreck and then judge if he can push past or if that's too risky, I probably can already guess the answer to that. Many Bugs have a ladder on the back for loading the roof rack, if this one doesn't people will have to get in the van and climg through the sun roof.
