@Katrina:
That's 14, +8 for WIL doubled... That's 6 SL's, meaning the zombie is bound in place for 30 seconds (6 Turns). The cost is 4 Essence (which you will recover in an hour). I edited your post accordingly.

@Hector:
There isn't exactly a parking lot in the alley: there are parking lines on the side, and there are cars parked in those spaces, but the alley is just large enough for two cars to drive side by side, which results in a parking disposition kinda like this:

"Away from the oncoming van" would therefore mean into one of the empty parking spaces.

This doesn't really change the end result, it's just for clarity. Also, the minimap is not in scale, so I drew only 5 parking spaces but there are actually a few more.

Symbols: OC is the overturned car; * is the rough position of the group; // is Geoff (more accurately, the van), ^^ is the closest unused parking space.

There are another couple of empty parking spaces behind the van, plus of course the one that Geoff is freeing as we speak...

@Geoff:
There is really no simple way for you to estimate the risk: once you arrive at the car, you will have to decide if you want to push it forward, which has a chance of crushing the zombies with it but runs the risk of setting the gasoline on fire.

OK, I don't think I made any references to the shop next to Queen's Gambit, but that doesn't really matter, as the backdoor of the other building is also iron, and you can't see the shop from there.

That building also has fire escape stairs leading up, which means you can go knocking at the apartments' windows... At your own risk, of course.

Well if that doesn't leave me with a sense of dread. I don't know guys, sounds like our ZM will have free reign to come up with what ever she wants in these apartments. I already feel bad about making Nephi climb the burninatin' car, I don't want to push him into the middle of a zombie feeding frenzy.....

I think it's a good moment to activate Nephi's powers... Nephi, as you look at the woman, your Divine Sight will activate. That will cost you 5 Essence Points, and will last for 10 minutes. While it is active you will be able to perform the Touch of Healing on people you don't know (as part of Divine Sight you will understand their True Name: you won't be able to pronounce it out loud, but if you concentrate on it while you perform the blessing you will have all you need to identify the target).

The ladder from the van will work: you can all go up to the roof, back down, and get to the cars.

You'll easily outrun the zombies on the other side of the wreck and get to your cars, after which you can drive away. Feel free to involve NPC's as you post...

Incidentally, Karen is not completely fraking out only because she's still in shock: she will follow you on the roof and down the other side, moving pretty much on autopilot.

The move is finished... And so am I. Yesterday I moved to my new, nicer, bigger, less expensive apartment.

Small flaw: it's a fourth floor. No lift. And I had to bring up 8 suitcases and 3 boxes full of clothes and stuff.

So, yeah, tired. Very.

I'll try to post something as soon as my mind clears up, *but*: Hector, if you want to go down the ladder, you will find that a zombie comes out of an alley about 50 yards away and starts to follow you, almost as soon as your feet touch the ground. He's partially decomposed.

Feel free to fill in the blanks any way you like.

Now, that was a week... And a weekend, too. And a monday as well... We had decided to throw a surprise birthday party for a friend: the surprise turned out to be that she's not coming :P

So, one weekend of preparations wasted. That was fun...

The zombie is not in the way, so both Hector and Jane can easily sprint for the cars and reach them well before he is in any position to bother them... But by then the zombie *will* be in the way - of everyone else.

The zombie in the Queen's Gambit's will basically be *behind* you as you come down the stairs. Which means, as you run to the cars, that it will have to try and catch you... Hector will have turned the car on by the time Monica reaches him, and Jane will be moving Nephi's car closer to the stairs.

My, I'm posting a lot today :P

Just a request: if you fire a weapon, please remember to remove the shots fired from your ammo profile before you post, so that the final total in the post reflects the updated ammo count at the end of the action.

(Said the guy who invariably needs to edit his shooting posts...)

You may have noticed that I'm trying to fast-track the end of our first "session": I dispensed with Monica and Geoff's rolls, I placed Nephi in the perfect position for basically the last scene I need, and everyone is about to reach the cars and skid away.

I want to wrap it up by the end of the week, so that I can get to distributing rewards ;)
