Re: OOC Thread

Well thanks for apologizing. We are human, and as such make these kinds of mistakes. To be honest I'm not sure why I am taking this so personally, and still so mad. It hints to abandonment issues I didn't even know I had. I'll try to continue, but you should know that if this sort of thing happens again I will most likely just leave. This was your warning, and you only get one warning with me.

Re: OOC Thread

That is duly noted. Out of fairness to everyone involved, I shall also point out that it is as inevitable as sunshine in the Sahara, but we can burn that bridge when we come to it.

Now, do please send me (or post - don't worry about the timeline, I'll fix it later) your scene with Monica, and your intentions for the first round.

We'll keep most of the scene unchanged, just adapt it to include your work involving Monica.

Re: OOC Thread

Well that might be a little tricky as, in a fit of anger, I already deleted the 'witty banter' thing I'd been working on. I'll try and see what I can do with this faulty thing I call a memory.

I have a number of PM's I have that require me to do something.

I will.

Soon.

Stay tuned.

Thanks.

Re: OOC Thread

Well, if you smell a collIsion, it's because the LHC is finally fully functional, and the world hasn't been eaten whole by a black hole - quite predictably, I might add.

If you smell something else, however... I'm afraid you are on your own.

And we welcome!

A new player from New Zealand! Ain't the global village lovely?

Nephi Swanson successfully jumped through all the hoops in order to bring us our first Divinely Inspired character!

Glad to have you on board, and please stay tuned: as you may have noticed, I have a bit of a mess to clean up before restarting the IC.

And we welcome... Back! Eliza Shaw, who unfortunately lost a chance to post in the IC before the Guys in Blue arrived due to RL issues. Isn't that a pain, how real life always interferes with the important stuff? :P

Now, folks, may I suggest Eliza and Nephi get in touch and perhaps try to work out something in common? Let's spread the action a little further than Monica's shop: I'm fairly sure we can still link them later - within six degrees of separation, at elast.

Let's find something new and interesting, shall we?

Enjoy!

Re: OOC Thread

Hi all!  Yes, Nephi Swanson is an Inspired.  He firmly believes that miracles can and do happen, and has witnessed some in his own life.  Um, check out the description, and ask questions if you want to know more.

And, I think I'll rMail Eliza and see what we can work out.

Re: OOC Thread

Which reminds me... Is everyone comfortable with the use of drawn images as character portraits?

Personally, I tend to mix photos and drawings pretty freely, but I found some people don't like when that happens.

In reply to Chronicler (msg #27):

I can't help but feel that anyone that has an issue over "drawn portraits" has far to much time on his/her hands, and has a seriously need to get a life away from the computer.

Re: OOC Thread

I can see you feel very strongly about that.

Some people are highly visual: to them, putting photos and drawings side by side turns the game into "Who framed Roger Rabbit?"

Anyway, nobody complained, so I believe we are good on that front.

I'm curious to see how Geoff's zombie wrastilin' goes. Think I'll wait 'till I see the results of his roll.

Re: OOC Thread

Just so I get it all straight in me defective head meat our first combat session, which the three of us have been working on for the past week, went something like this right?

1. Geoff bends down to check on "unconscious" guy on the floor.
2. Said guy suddenly comes awake and lunges for Geoff's face.
3. Geoff tries to move away in time but fails.
4. Geoff gets a chunk of one of his cheeks bitten off.
5. Jane goes for her guns behind the counter.
6. Geoff manages to wrestle guy to the floor, but he's thrashing about wildly.
7. Hector draws his gun and fires wildly into the floor.
8. Monica screams at Hector and blocks him just as he's readying to fire again.
9. Geoff yells at Hector to "Hold your fire" and with some difficulty manages to turn guy around and handcuff him.
10. With a winning smile Hector manages to placate Monica as he puts his pistol away.
11. Jane emerges with a pistol in each hand, in time to completely miss the entire event.

Total game time: 5-10 seconds.

I miss anything, get anything out of order, or does that about cover it?

Re: OOC Thread

Just two minor points:

1) The guy was already more or less awake and trying to stand

2) Jane could've probably fired from behind the counter, but she lost the round trying to figure out what to do, since the only obvious danger was wearing a uniform :P

The total duration of the thing was two quick combat rounds plus one even quicker  surprise round, which does translate to 5-10 seconds overall.

I think everything else checks out... Did I miss something?

Re: OOC Thread

I've been wondering about that, Nephi. Are you two going to have your own story thread, having nothing to do with our diner adventure, that only eventually merges with ours once we all end up fleeing from the city; or are you guys going to be like Monica's first customers of the day walking into this crazy scene, or something else entirely?

Re: OOC Thread

My original idea was to happen upon the scene during the course of my morning, though the ZM seems to want a little more to be happening away from Monica's.  Will continue to talk with Eliza and the ZM, and figure it out.

Re: OOC Thread

What I was hoping to do: same city, different location.

Possibly have Monica's Eddie on that side of the city to link everyone later on.

But if you guys come up with something else, that's fine by me as well.

I could've helped, had you used PM's instead of rMail, but unicuique suum :)

2 Success Levels, that's +2 LP after the First Aid attempt, enough to lower the total damage to 6. Today's lesson is: don't get bitten by zombies: it hurts a lot and takes forever to heal.
