Re: Part IV
Far, far away, stands the Free City of Travial, a capitalistic burg rivaling Rimuldar in size. The city is led by a council of merchant-aldermen and is famous for it's annual merchant guild rendevous, many of which hold considerable sway within the boundaries of the Empire of Man. The council aldermen all hold the top positions within their respective guilds and have enough allies in positions of influence that the city has been able to maintain a position of neutrality against the empire.
But the politics of the guilds aren't any of Gaiven the Dumb's concern. A member of a fraternal brotherhood of librarians, scribes, and historians, Gavian owns and operates a small, cozy shop nestled between a butcher and a baker on a merchant street in Travial. Keeping his business in operation is at the forefront of hi mind as he sets a stack of three heavy tomes down on a table and wipes his brow.
Recently, Gaiven arranged an agreement with a printer to have books printed that would be within the means of the average citizen, hoping to gain a new market. Unfortunately, there isn't enough interest, and he is losing money. The new books means that not only the shelves are filled, but brand-new books are piled on tables and floor all around the little shop.
Gaiven puts his hands on his hips and surveys his progress. He sighs wordlessly; there's still a lot of organizing left to do.
