Matt is glad his friends are doing so well so far, because missing his first swing after what felt like an hour would have been much more frustrating otherwise.

Maverick says nothing, simply letting loose a volley of crossbow bolts that spray the enemy. While the accuracy seems off, two get injured, one being hit in the calf, the other hit in the kidney!

"Yay!" Mittens cheers, "They're not surrendering!"

She tosses three lightsabers into the nearby enemies, then teleports around, a whirling dervish of double radiant blades!  One of the baddies drops, and two are half dead!

"You'll pay for that!"

A gith takes a swing at her, but she catches the blade with her hand and grins at him!

The sounds of battle go silent for a second as if making way for Carla's words as she whispers, "Burn."

All the enemy catch fire with holy white fire, the sound suddenly returning!

"Still waiting to eat my words... or see you follow through with any of your pathetic threats." Angel comments as she thunks another arrow into the nearby Corsair. The warrior receives a bolt wedged into his armor. Angel hides her annoyance with a candy-sweet smile.

The corsair then drops from being on fire. But he doesn't roll... just lays there on fire.

Two of the Gith go after Mits, but fail to harm her.  But while she's distracted with them, one of the corsairs manages to chop her in half!  She vanishes with a shriek in an explosion of purple flame!  Cherub winces.

"You're next!" he challenges the rest of the group.

  Matt busts open the barely standing warrior's nose in passing, and clonks the corsair upside the head with his hammer.  Which really isn't as impressive as it sounds, but hey a takedown and damage dealt at all is far and away better than missing again.

  Now, still being at full HP despite all that? Much more enjoyable (Somewhere, someone is screaming that means the tank isn't doing their job).

For the first time, the enemies get to see who the mysterious other member of the team is! A creepy little human boy who lurks from the darkness, slashes at the corsair, and then vanishes like a wraith!

Mittens reappears and teleports around to slash at the enemy!

"Pikaboo!"

Poof!  She vanishes again!

Carla peeks around the corner and shakes a finger at the gith to the south. He feels the weight of divine judgement, should he take hostile actions against anyone.

Angel laughs. "As you can see, the cat is invincible. I wonder how long it will take before you figure out we all are."

Another swing and a miss against Matt!

The corsair warned by Carla shakes off the fire and attacks Angel.  She shrieks in pain and the attack goes wide!

It's okay Gith, Matt missed again too.

Of course, the difference is Matt's fine.  While the Gith... not so much.

Maverick reappears, slips behind the gith and stabs her in such a painful spot, she falls unconscious from the pain. He gives a glare to the remaining gith.

Distracting Wound v Cor3. Hit(27)!

Cherub fires a heart arrow at the last gith, dropping him.

Mits reappears, "Ha HA!  Huh.  Looks like they're finished already."

  "There is likely to be more, as usual.  But at least this batch hopefully is an indication of what their fodder looks like."

Maverick says, "I knocked this one out. She's still alive, if we want to interrogate her."

Angel gets to tying the badguy up so that she won't escape during interrogation.

Carla closes her eyes to rest and her wounds vanish. Rainbow goes to hug Mittens Cherub, and her wounds vanish also.

Interrogation gets the expected bits.  "Our boss will make short work of you!" and, "We don't need any reason to crush the weak!"

Nothing really useful.  Mits occupies herself with mocking the Gith.

  "Why is it that all these 'Bane Rulz' mindsets never crush themselves, unless a magical artifact does it for them?"

  CRUSH THE WEAK! Oh no we lost and are the weak ones... Uh, just act like we're still better anyways!

Angel is not going to give the prisoner the satisfaction of thinking they are strong by pointing out weak is a relative term.

Maverick says, "Keep them alive for now. I want them to see their crushed boss before they die."

Angel knocks the baddies back out. "On the bright side, that same attitude means they will not try to escape."

Carla telepaths, "Mittens, are you feeling OK?"

Mits gives Carla a grin and a thumbs-up.  "I'm adventuring with my awesome friends!  I'm better than ok!"

She's grrrreat!

  "Glad to hear, Mittens.  But even then, none of us want to get complacent just assuming you will be okay after a thing like that."  Getting complacent after suffering over the top harm is for yourself, not others, duh.

Maverick offers to scout ahead, but upon opening the door, immediately notices someone in line of sight, but if the gith warrior notices Mav, he fires off a shot immediately. Thankfully, the gith doesn't notice him. Maverick carefully closes the door and reports there is a gith warrior up ahead. "I'm going to fire off a shot to get him over here."

He peaks back in and fires an eyebite at the warrior, but misses.

"Invaders.  I think one of them is a halfling."

The warrior takes up position.

  Matt steps out onto the stairway, and tosses his hammer up into the room as soon as he can see one of the Gith.

  He is rewarded with an almost but not quite good enough clang off of plate armor, as his hammer returns.  "You know, for all the artistic depictions of shirtless warriors reliant on nothing but their skill in combat to win... There sure are a lot of Gith wearing armor even thicker than mine."
