Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

After the meeting, Holy had left with Kitau and Grimly to search for the crystal. Igatho had shown at the meeting also, but was completely covered up in a tarp of sorts. On the way out of town, Holy buys a gallon of ice cream. When the four were out of town, Holy lifted the tarp and gave Igatho ice cream as promised. "Good girl! You managed to fool everyone at the meeting! Who's a sneaky baby? You're a sneaky baby!"

Igatho giggles and lets out that squeal babies tend to make when happy, then licks at the ice-cream.

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Kitau smiles and pets the baby's back with her left stub.

"Mamma proud."

Her right hand almost always has a whip in it.  She only put it up for the meal.

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Grimly sees his was not the most awkward of family experiences, and that's saying something.

"I know there is a reputation for violent tendencies, but does she have a choice in the matter here?"

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Holy answers, "You heard the princess; none of us really have a choice - it is do or die. But if the world were safe, Igatho here is safer fighting at our side than ganged up on by a whole city of angry mob out to kill her because she was too rough with someone. In other words: It's either leave her alone to die, try to raise her in a city to die, leave her with her own kind who will raise her to kill innocent people, or take her in and raise her ourselves while we continue to try rescuing others. I did the research and even tested how she would do in isolation... she needs violence like you and I need eyes - Sure you can live without them, but it would be real hard to find direction."

With one hand, he is holding Igatho's hand, but with the other hand, he pets Kitau's hair.

Igatho smiles brightly at Holy and Kitau. She is OH so happy to make them proud.

"Baby needs violence too," Kitau clarifies.

Oh right.  He already said he was talking about the frost giant.  Kitau knew that and just smirks.

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

"A better answer than most could hope for, I suppose."  Grimly just maybe has some issues with parents deciding life choices that involved life and death for you.

Holy and Kitau probably do not have 'we had to see if it worked before we did it ourselves' as part of their reasoning, though.

"Quite unfortunate for whoever is in our way.

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Atop a low rise is an excavation site, partially protected by a high wooden fence. Rubble lies strewn about the area.

Igatho whispers, "I hear people..."

Holy glances to the other two and whispers, "Sounds like they're around Kit and I's size." he looks at Grimly. "Fell like scouting it out?"

Kitau pets Igatho with her stub again.

"Good girl.  Whispering to tell us about maybe bad people is smart."

Grimly is quiet enough to make the footpads redundant.

He returns, "Eleven kobolds, most of them frail in flesh.  The slingers could be troublesome.  They are excavating, though no way to tell what is down the pit from here."

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Igatho smiles big as Kit compliments her intelligence. Then asks quietly, "Bad kobolds? I can destroy them?"

Holy says, "Wait up, Igatho. We'll form a plan, then we can all destroy them together."

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Kitau gives it some thought.

"You boys circle around to the back.  Then I walk Igatho up to their front.  If they are bad kobolds, they'll be mean to us.  If that happens, you can surprise them from behind and we'll smash them in front."

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

"Seems sensible enough."  Wow Grimly, you sure adjusted to using a baby as a decoy fast.  Even if it is a baby that could snap you in half with her bare hands... Then again, so could the Gnome most likely.  Strange day.

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

When Holy and Grimly are in position, Kitau and Igatho approach. Their innocent approach is immediately met with attacks! No questions, just attacking. Two charge the giant and one charges Kitau. A slinger throws one of his pots! And out of all those attacks... only one manages to do any harm, piercing Igatho's skin and making her squeal.

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

From the other side of the area, Grimly swiftly (but not running, KEYWORDS!) approaches the largest batch of kobolds, coming to a stop as he sweeps his sickle in an arc in front of him.

Of the four Kobolds directly in front of the Monk, three of them collapse to the ground gurgling with slit throats as the last ducks away.  An entirely unrelated kobold is feeling their neck nervously, "Sometimes it takes a moment."

Re: Coppernight Hold (Igatho and Holy)

Actually, Igatho DIDN'T get hit. Kitau told her "watch out!" and Igatho chopped a minion in half with a knee-jerk reaction!

The remaining slingers both throw pots at Grimly out of panic. One pot hits him in the kidney for some pain, but really it's the stink that hurts worse. Rancid water.
