The Tavern/base of  the Arrows, in Ironmound.

 Fetcher opens  the door and pushes it  wide for the others to enter, many a face turns towards  them, several...very good looking..server girls  are there. A well muscled  fellow behind the  Bar. There are two doors behind the bar, the smell of  food is  as thick as the smoke from Pipes....seafood, and  meet  can be sorted out in the  wounderous  smells...that..and  pipeweed.

 Justin does get an Ill feeling  about a few of the folks there..Most, Including Fetcher have  a brightlight, with a touch of  dark to it...

  There is a long  wooden tabel before  one of the hearths  in the Inn. A dwarf  sits  there going over  some parchments, his helm has but one horn, the horn faces forward. His black beard is tied into a point...Right behind him, coming  down the stairs that lead to the rooms, is an Elf, darkhair woren in a ponytail, His leathers  are dark   and tunic is forest green as is his Hooded cloak, A hawk'shead pommel on his longsword, and  a quiver on his  back...

 The group hear's the Dwarf, Yer Cousin Ivy's Group is aheadin' to Tou...seem to have a hint about  slavers working the river there...Axel's group lost three men in the plains when they were jumped by Cat folk...

  The  elf nods as hereaches the table, one of the grils   brings him a glass of Elven Gold wine, she  grins  as she hurries back to the bar,..well..when we get some folks for Axels'  group...they will have to make sure they visit these Cat-folk and settled the debt...

  The Dwarf  gruts and  nods his head..Fetcher clears  his throat, Both men look towards him, but  thier eyes see past him to the others...The fresh faces, who took the  time to listen to me...I bring them here for you to..talk over  thierquestions...Another ships is coming...Er..The elf  is Kree..Quickshadow...the Dwarf is Reedrick Orebender...they more  or less run things for us  in the city...These  fine folks are..Justin, Merik and Rolf...I live you to it  then...

 Kree waves  the  Girl over  and nods to fetcher, she opens a purse and gives him some coin, the ragged  fellow  bows to you all and leaves. The elf  then asks the Girl, "..Please..bting  some wine and Ale, and whatever the Cooks has the most of right now. Let the folks  eat while we talk....

 The grill nods  and  navigates through the crowded room..Have a seat, as Fetcher said, I am Kree..this is  my brother-in-blood Reedrick..now? what questions have you about  our Company..we can get started from there..

 with a not of his head the dwarf adds,..The cook has beef stew today...ain't no better stew then his..in this town anyway....

Rolf keeps an eye out while they move along.  After all, he knew none of these people and it wasn't unheard of for strangers to be set upon or pressed into a gang and he wasn't so sure that wasn't the case as yet.

The tavern does nothing for him an dthe stench of the pipes he finds annoying.  The smell of the food was an enticement though, but what really caught his attention was the mention of the catfolk and his eyes narrowed.

"Why are there companies, who runs them and why?  And why are you interested in travelers fresh off the boat to join you?  And what's in it for me?"

[ooc did Justing get any feeling about the dwarf and elf?]
Justin nods respectfully towards each, acknowledging their greetings. He pauses allowing his the other two men to be seated "Goodfellows have you knowledge of yon persons" he asks turning his head momentarilly in the direction of the figures he had an uneasy feelings about [observing them in the process]. Turning back to the Elf and Dwarf, he takes a seat and attempts to describe these people. [ie appearance, clothes, location etc.]

 For Justin, The tow  people he got the dark felings  for, sat at the end of  the bar, near the door. One  was  a Half-orc, the other a thickmuscled man, both wore dirty outfits that claim them to  be sailors, perhaps  of a merchant vessel..neither of them seem to be interested in the group.

  as for the dearf  and the elf, they, like most here..have light images, with a smudge of dark in it.

 Kree looks twoards the bar and shrugs,they appear to be sailors...perhaps   either justed docked, or perhaps getting ready to go to sea after laoding...we get all types here...much like the city itself..we need to pay the bills  as well... he smiles,if  they are fund to be foes...a ride on the Orc Cart is in thier future..."

  turnig to Rolf, he nods,  a good question , my friend.  Long before i came  to these lands...companies were formed...a good way to make  coin, and a better way to keep yourself  alive... I had intended on going it alone, save  for Reedrick  and my brothers...but even i knew, these lands are too harsh, not  to have  some advantage for you..."

    As for lookng for Outlanders? It is better to get them when they enter..I am one of thefew Outlanders who run a company, and even at that, I have the Village behind  me...besides..Outlanders  are of less chance to have been tampered with....you can tell folks from aroundhere right off, miost times...

  the Girl and another server, bring trays  with  a Big pot of stew, some trays of fish, Bread  and biskets Butter,  slices of melon and of course,,ale  and wine..they leave  quickly...the door opens  and a odd lookingperson comes in, multicolored clothes  and a Lute on his back..he is loud  and  smiling, as he approaches  the BArkeep to talk with him.

Justin nods grateful for this information manoeuvring his chair so he can subtly observe the men sat at the bar whilst not appearing to be disrespectful to those gathered at the table.

   The  barkeep  shrugs  and points tpo a corner  away from the hearths, and near  the Big  window. There is  a  small stage  there, and  the fellow hops up on the stage, Hail, and well met, I am Fross The Luteman and i have  come here to entertain you...now then..coins  can be dropped  right into my cup here..if you so desire to show your like for  my work!

  The  dwarf's  fuzzy eyebrows drop down to form a V above his eyes,Kree..ya  ain't gonna  let him sing are ya..I mean...look at him..he should  be at one of  them White Robe places...

  Kree does not looks to happy as well, he looks over at the Barkeep who shrugs, then makes a motion of rubbinghis fingers together to show "coin" It  appears Olson  has made a deal...we must suffer thorugh it..

  The Dwarf  waves to the  dark haired girl,Gonna need more ale then...

  As  they look around  and the efeminate bard begins to tell a  tale of  two star-crossed lovers, they can see two hugh boards behind the  Bar..one..has  many..many differant Pins, patches and other tokens..there are a few dupilcates, but now many...one the other board  are names...One of the girls  is standing on  the counter in the back of  the bar ( much to the joy of  the fellows sitting at the bar) and is earsing  some names, and  writing in a book, then adding  another  name or two...also, around the  Inn are  all sorts of weapons and bits of armor on the walls, there are two torn battle flags, One  is   that of the Red  Isles...another is  a fed flag, with a  skeleton head..its  eyes  are yellow.

Merik Takes an open chair next to the others and flops down. He looks around the room and has a smile on his face that appears a bit more menacing then friendly. When the food is ordered he seems to relax a bit. "The thing is" He states "This is all new and where I'm from no company’s exist. I'm not putting it down, but I wanna know what kind of commitment this is. If there is something I will not do, and I refuse what kind of consequences’ are there and When I'm ready to head home, who's going to stop me. I know your words are just that, and actions speak the loudest but its all I can accept at this time and I wanna be up front with you."

 He  nods slowly as Merik speaks . then takes  a sip of  wine  as he looks around the Inn...To be Honest...there are...indeed..companies that you join for  life, whether you wish to or  nay. Ours is not  like that. those who live  long  enough to retire from the pursuits we take up, are honored and may live  in the Village, or find a place in The City. Those who wish to leave it all behind, sometimes go to one  of our Allied  towns  or cities...at times, they  even serve  as  a place  for agents  to get informations, food, shelter  and the lke..

  As for what you are willing or not willling to do ? That is known only to you. I lay this out here for you...for you all. We are not Knights on some filed of  honor, nor  are  we Courtiers tossing  tilted words  about. No matter  what the task is we settle on, there is always one main Compnay Goal, to  rid the realms  of  as many dark folk as we are able...

 Pointing behind the Counter, That is our  Kill board. Once you are an arrow  you report your kills whenever you reach  a town or Village that has an Arrow house in it. With Magics, the Kills are reported  and added to the boards...In our Village, we have a Razorhawk Totem...and  names of  our  folks  are on tiles there...ever climbing upwards as they score  a victory.

  Looking at each of you  a moment he adds,..Once..a Cleric  of Sune was offended by our actions...the same actions that freed her and three of her handmaidians  from slavers...we needed to know where the main camp was...none  would talk..Until we used the safe....information gathering...on them, That  Thr  red Elves..and  Slavers use on normal people...we got  the information..all the  slavers  died...in turn we freed another score of priosners, and killed almost a score of slavers...we wiped out thier  camp, and ended..for a while..at very least...one of the worst scrouges  in this area...now..The cleric, she tried to admonish us..told me..'you are no better then they are'.

  The Dwarf  chuckled  and shook his head, already knowing the story.

  I told her this...as i tell it to you. I....we...are no better then them...we are just on the otherside...THAT...is what puts fear inot  them...they can manipulate the honor  bound 'good' folk...but in us? The look in the miror and see only death coming for them...You would be surprised, how many lives  that has saved......

Justin raising a hand and waited for acknowledgement of his question. "Goodfellow Kree May one know what this method entailed." He asked

   Slavers call it ..'wailing  words'..for  the way the subjects cry out the  information...if they do, indeed have it...The Red Elves call it  'the peel'. The  subject  is tied to a  chair...the questioner asks  questions, wiith each refusal...the peeler uses  a very hsarpe  knife, and begins to peel back the skin, starting from the foot...The  Reds brag that they once  reached  a man's  waist before he died...I have only ever gotten to  the knee..of course...my blades are not always  the sharpest.... he  shakes his head,we did allow one of them to go free...The Suneite healed his  foot the best she could...the word travelled  fast...there  are not too many slavers, or red Elves that wish to be taken alive by us...those few foes that surrender outright? We bring  back here, and collect  bounty from the  Troopers.

 Looking at each of  them , he watches thier eyes  as if he could  get a measure of thier mettle that way,One of the first folk  my brothers and I met in this lands, was an older Arrow...at that time they had a code on  how to handle priosners  and such...he dealt fairly  with them, sometimes  even offering  ransom to  thier companies. or clans  or whatever rather then bringinh  them  to the City...That cost him    deeply. One of  the men he ransomed back to a group of thugs  who work out of Olant, came  back for him, they had thier way with his wife  and daughter..and killed them...he died about a week later, as he went after them alone..to this  day, and one  we see wearing the patch of  The Grey Hammers...we attack on sight...Twas not  long after that, we instituted the ...'leave no live enemies  behind you'...rule

Justin grimaced "Surely the Priestess could have suggested a more suitable way of questioning those prisoners." he commented, as he carefully consider the Red Arrow representatives comments "Pardon but you have indicated there any casters within the Red Arrow are they intrinsic to each company, group or subgroup?"

  ...within this  city, and  most cities, even some of the towns, there is  the  Wizard's guild..also, there are more then a few powerful maelings that operate on thier own...Our Village has  a small guild, they are allied with that Of Ironmound's. When the collection of recruits is bountiful, we try to send folks where thier talents are best needed...however, most times, we have groups, such as you who arrive at the same time, and feel more at ease being  together..we try to add a seasoned Arrow  to the group, for at least  as long as it  takes  for the recruits to feel comfortable on thier own.

'Humm... adhoc units without formalised structure' he mused to himself "So the Red Arrows have a cadre of healers, mages, scouts and warriors to bolster units as necessary. Approximately how long would these seasoned arrows remain with these groups" he asked curiously

 ..as  I said, Until we feel they are ready...alot  depends on success of miussions, and how things  are  handled...even if  we fail, we want to make those who opposed us  feel like they lost.

"And when I decide the company isn't for me, what happens when I decide to move on?  And who decides when I am to venture forth?  Who retains treasure found?"

  Kree takes  a small bite of stew, Motioning  for the others to eat as well, when the time  comes , That you feel you must move on, or that you cannot live up to the reputation of the Arrows. You turn in your pin and oof you go...

  Treasure..or pay..comes intwo forms. Bouties  and such that you fulfill are split  between those who have  helped achieve it. There is a slight bit of  coin that goes to the Company, but not enough that  it  will pauper you. Secondly..a pay of  sorts is given to arrows. Its  is not much , by any means, but it does give you some coin in your purse,,that money comes  from the Funds of the Company itself. The Comapny earns  coins in other ways...

 Like  the  Orc  cart... The  dwarf says  as he swallows, They pay for bodies they pick up behind  Inns and TAverns, and a discounted price from any  equipment taken...we keep alot of that stuff here, to help arm recruits and such..

 The  elf  nods,at any rate, You get paid from the results of your missions, a month handful of  coin, and anything extra you might come up with on your own.

"Could you provide some more information about some other missions the Arrows had previously completed, for example anything 5 or 10 years ago?"

  Reedrick  stopped  eating  a bit, and Looked from Justin to Kree. The elf's  face was impassive as  he looked at his glass, swirling the Golden wine with  slow flicks of his wrist.

  Kree's eyes  moved  from the wine  to Justin, then to the others, then  back to the wine as he swirled it  about,..as I have  said. We do things most companies  will not...we tend  to take on heavy loads...darker foes..and heavier responsiblities. Because of that.... his eyes  go to Reedrick who frowns, as if knowing  what Kree was going to say,..we have earned the ear of  the crown. Not  so we can brag about it, we cannot even tell folks what we do for  the crown, most times...we have earned less love then most companies, from the service  folk, and the town watch..because we have a bit of favor...you shall see this, if you join us, as  you begin to travel through the City and  such..."

  ..Of the tasks we have completed over the years...that i can tell you about, are many...We have Recovered an Artifact  for   the temple of  the War Gods...we have found over  a dozen lost children..sons or daughters  who were either lead astray. or downright taken...As  A company we fought in three skrimishes in The Black Timber, the forest of  My Village...and ran messages  to allies, that none others were trusted to take...we have Killed more then our share of Red Isle Halflings...we have taken or sunk three River pirate vessels..One of which we  were permitted to Keep...so the Company has its own sloop-of-war...I could go on, but when you get to a cerrtain point, it becomes boasting....One thing I am proud of... his head jerks  towards  the Boards behind the Counter,Many of  those Kills are slavers..or slaver friends...no matter what the mission...slaver heads  are always part of  The Hunt.

  Lowering  his voice, just a bit  as he sits up closer to the table, taking  a sip of his  wine, he says,..of other things...You will have to earn the right to know, once you have become  a trusted  member of the Arrows....

  He is  interupted by the Dark Hair  serving girl, she bents to whisp[er in his ear, besides the ample Bosom she displays, it is easy to see her Bodice is closed with a ruby arrow  pin...as the  'recruits' look to reedrick  and kree, they note  that Kree has a small ruby arrow  on the collar of his Tunic, and  Reedrick has one, on a chain about his neck. The Blonde Server  Girl comes by with some  more fresh bread for the table, she  to, wears  a red arrow pin...

 The Dark  haired Girl smiles slightly at the others  as the two Girls head back to the  bar,..seems  things  are heating up in the Plains, near the Ironwood Forest. The  Cat folk are in heat, so females  are more aggressive, and the MAles  are trying to make a name for themselves, in hopes  of adding mates to thier clan..there was an attack on some farmers  bringing thier  spring harvest in,...By tomorrow, there is  a good bet there will be Bounty sheet  on the boards by the  Main GAtes.

Justin nods appreciatvley "Thank you goodfellow Kree, tis more than enough..." he smiles "I've a interest to see what a catfolk actually are, and the red arrows sounds quite the better body for this, and other tasks, such as dealing with the likes of... " he gives a slight tilt of the head towards the two men seated at the end of the bar "Certain types of a dark nature. Do I make a pledge or something."

Merik listens intent, then with a quirk of a smile speaks. "Peace is just the respite or rest between wars. Where once great men sit in bars, cast out by society and forced to scrap by, begging, forgotten for the work they have done to protect others, some even maimed in the process. War brings out the best in people; courage honor and valor are shown and worn. Work for the labors in society become the norm, Crafts men find ample money for food. Nations unite and bonds are forged. These are the teachings of my order. To fight is just and right. The slavers are but boils on the back of society, and if it’s your companies’ goal to remove them, I can see honor in that. If you rescue children from a fate worse then death, I can find valor in that. If you are paid for these things, that should be so for you are the merchants of stability in this region, and I will be a laborer of vengeance for you. The only thing I must make clear, my order comes 1st, the company comes second, however the two do not appear to be on different roads. If this is acceptable, then I will join.”   He does not wait for an answer, but takes a drink from the tankard then grabs a fresh loaf of bread and breaks it, offering half to Justin.

Justin smiles takes the offered bread and breaks it inturn offering the larger piece to the third man "Come let us undertake to aid the process of correction of those who are corrupt" he prompts.

  The dwarf  nods  with a grunt of satisfaction, well then..seems we needs give The Fetcher an extra coin or two. Looks  like these folk have the belly for our  work, as well as the interest...

  The  elf Nods and waves  for  one of the girsl, he makes a gesture  with his hands  that seem to be forming a square.

  The Dark HAired  girl comes over  with a well polished cedar box, about  as big as a spell caster's Tome. Kree nods  to the Two Girls  as the Blonde  brings a fresh pitcher of  ale.    The Blonde is Mara. She is  an arrow, as   are all who work here... he  frowns  at the BArd, who is now singing  a song of the heroic Naval service members and  a battle that took place, not long  ago....that is ...who work here all the time. She is one of the dest hand crossbowmen you will see...Lytie is very...very  good  at aquring things...Both do not  take to the filed much any longer...but  they keep thier  skills  sharp Orin, the Barkeep..lost a leg a few years ago..so he works here...the way he could handle a mace was something to see....

  Opening the chest he takes out  3 Rudy arrow  pins and slides them across the table to each of them,..according to  the Company Laws set down by the Crown, All company members  must have thier name on a charter... and all must wear thier ensigna in plain sight...since companies tend to take  the ensigna's from dead foes, it is assumed  you have taken one, if you are not wearing it....to wear more then one? is like  wearing none at all. Should any of you Join a guild?  They  will place thier mark on you..Guild marks  do not effect ensigna wear. Should the  time come, when you no longer wish to work for the Company , in any form..you merely return you ensigna..any further questions?

Rolf listens, then has his say.  "To put it in plain terms, if we join you, we do not owe you anything and we can quit whenever we choose and if you come across a task for which we deem ourselves ill-suited, we can refuse it with no argument.

For you're part, you will provide some measure of coin if we need such, and perhaps equipment salvaged as well as tasks which we might choose to undertake.  If I have this right, then I see no reason not to sign up."

 Kree nods,  there have been times  when some memebrs of a Unti  could not agree  on things...mostly prisoners...the first rule, the Unit commander will make the decisions, if  they offend you..You need not  carry out  the task..other then tht. most folk seem to blend in pretty well

    Now then..eat and drink..if you needs  rooms to stay, there are more then a few onthe very top floor, that is for Arrow's use. On the Morrow, I will go with you, and we shall  go to the  Village, to see what might be  brewing there...we will stop at the main Western Gate to see what the Crown , or Merchants have  put on the Bounty Board..Until then You may do as you like...explore the city...if you care to  do that, reedrick will show you around...If your Unit  can grow in size  a bit, then I will withdraw,,and you will have to pick a Unit leader...

  Outside, it is begining to grow  dark, the LApmplighters  are going down the docks and  they hear amuffled  thump of rythmic marching...ever now and again it  stops, but with in a few minutes it starts  again...getting louder each time...finally the marching  stops right outside the doors  of "the Plank", the Door is opened  By a Young corpal of  the  City Watch, and Officer steps in after him, followed  by another watch trooper...He looks over the  Inn with a sneer on his face.......

Justin grins nods at to the the Elf then the dwarf and the other Red Arrows. He picks up the arrow pin moves over towards the door. "Greetings goodfellows" he says smiling at the Officer. "Would you care to partake of the fine fair within" he asks as he secures the ruby pin to his lapel.

  The Guards Look at Rolf, The Officer showing  distain as ge waves him off, as a noble might do a begger, he looks directly at Kree as he moves across the floor, the locals  making pleanty of  room for him.

  stopping at the table the officer looks at the recruits  then at Quickshadow,SWo?  You found  some other fools to joinyour pack?He  looks at those still seated,..did  he tell you many of  theAQrrows have died?He has seen twice  the members fall, as i have seen from the Watch!

  Kree nodded  as he  sipped from his glass,There is  truth in that, it is hard to see your comrades fall..when you are running the other way...

  The Corpal's  mouth opened wide as the Officer leaned on the table,..are you cvalling me  a Coward? You pointed eared Outlander bastard?

 His eyes look into the Officers as he slowly grins, ...I think High Captain Morr said it best...' LT Makins has refined the art of strategic retreat..'

  with his  face growing  read and  the veins bulging in his neck, he says,..I should challeneg you here..now..to a dule of  honor..but...

  Before he can finish Kree stands up slamming his galss on the table, and it  shatters, his Voice is cold  and dark,..BUT...You know you would die...and you know you cannot defend..what you do not have!...now...tell me why you soil the  air  of my Inn?

  The Officer took a step back, his hand fumbling for his  blade...Reedrick had grabbed the Corpral and just shook his head from side to side..the Corpal,backed off with both hands in the air. Makins answered slowly".. we are making the announcements in the Inns  and taverns, especially those who are run by Compnay Scum...There is a Bounty on Cat folk..any breed, except the Lynx..as they have allied themselves  with the City.

  ,what is the bounty... The  Officer looked at Kree, it  was not until Kree made a motion with his hand, did he see the Blade slide up his sleeve..the fellowwho have taken a serious  blow, had his  sword cleared its  sheath.

    The Bounty is 2 gold per Fang..it matters not the age, or sex of the beast..

  The  elf nods slowly,..you have mad the announcement..now..leave before i remember you have insulted me.... The Corpral and trooper when heading towards the door, the Officer stopped  just before leaving  and  said to the whole of the Tavern,...The Arrows  are little more  then paid assassins...is this what you want to be!"

  Most of the Inn raised thier glasses  and Relied  'AYE'..the BArd..quick on the  uptake, began tp play a song that was a limerick of sorts, and each pair of lines  either praised the Arrows or made some Heroic jest of them and thier actions...The Officer stormed out....The two fellows at the bar, never raised thier glasses.

  Kree sat back down, Lytie was there with a fresh glass  and wiped up the shattered remains of  Kree's last one,  as  i said... he takes a drink from the new glass and winks  at Lytie,..The Watch  are not overly friendly towards us...i cannot  imagine why...

  The dwarf  Grins hand holds out his tankard and Kree his glass, suddenly, the bard did not sound so bad!

   With a refill fill of his  Mug, The  dwarf looks at the group,"so..ya be headin' out on the morrow  then?

  The  elf  motions to the others, 'tis up to them...but i see no reason not to....

"There are some things I am curious about. Please pardon my ignorance about the current situations but I was wondering why such as yonder [ he nods towards the evil types seated at the bar] are permitted in an Red Arrow establishment, have you considered they could be here to glean information on our action?

What is the cause of such antipathy between the Guard and the Red Arrow, surely this should be addressed... Aren't there enemies enough to contend with outside the kingdom

Are these catflok an corrupt and perverse race, if so action against them is appropriate, if they are not surely a diplomatic solution should be entertained

  The Dwarf looks at Kree, the elf  shrugs  and motions  for  Reedrick to answe, The  dwarf's eyes  shift towards  the men at the bar, the men do not  seem to care, one  way or  the other  about what is  going on...even with the rising  shouts  and  joining in from the  crowd as the Bard continues  his  Song  of  The  Arrows.

  First off..we don't  know why they are here..they might have been on a ship, they might be spies..they might  just be looking  for a way out...if we find there is a bounty on them...then they will ride the Orc Cart...Until they do something  amiss..in here...thier coin is  as good as any other...as you travel the city, and these lands..you will see alot of that..now then..if  they wear the wrong  uniform, of the wrong  City of country? well..that is  just plain stupid...

   The Watch are poor step Children to the  Ironmound regulars..they are needed..the fight just like anyone else..but there is a differance between the way the Regulars, no matter the service, and the Watch folk are viewed. So..when the Companies started ta form...and gain names fer themselves? Well..the Watch folk were suddenly third on the list...it don't help none, that Kree or Myself, gets summoned to the Palace now  and again, anf the Watch folk are the ones who have to escort us in...  he grins

  Once more  Reedrick shrugs,FAr as these  here Catfolk go? I hate them all...most times i can't tell one from the other unl;ess they have spots or manes or sumthin' The olny breed that seems  to be on good turns  with us is  the Lynx..they are smaller..mostly thieves or assassins...dame good with thier  wierd little bows too...from what i understand  fromm the Sages guild? One time ago..Ironmound  and the Ironwood elsevs  helped the Lion and Tiger  breeds  fight a pitched  war  with Orcs  and Goblins...durning that time, Lionfolk realized  that the orcs where eatin' those who were killed or wounded...they did the  same,,and found out they liked the taste of Human...didn't  take long to spread through the  differant clans and tribes...nopw? Unless you see a Lyxn..you attack on sight...cause  they have  damn good fighters, good magelings, and thier stealth is near the match of  some elves  i know..."

  Kree chuckles into his  cup , but says  nothing.

   The regulars do care too much fer the watch, cause the watch has ta haul them in when they'er drunk and such..Watch don't  like them too much cause they get paid  two or three times  what they do...As fer us...and companies in general? We  don't  care...There is  a good bet that , at least  one out of every 10 Watch folk  are paind  off, by thieves guilds...or other companies. Nine Hells, even the Temples toss a coin thier  way we  they need something....every now  and again, you will find a good fella who is  in charge of  a watch unit...we don't  cause them no trouble...its the fella's like that last one...that think they are better then other  foplks, Just cause they have a Uniform..those  are the ones  we don't  care for...

  The elf  nods along with the Dwarf, That ia  why the other Cat folk have turned on the Lynx  race...there are half-breeds out there...The Sages  and Wizard's guilds said it  could not be done..But it has...The Lynx refuse to mix thier blood  with that of  the other  Cat races...the other Cat Races  are  damned near mindless in thier lust for mates, and  thier lust for blood..It makes it easy for us, as we  see a Tiger-folk with a  mane, or a Cheech-folk with stripes...you just kill them on sight...Like the orcs in Ironmound..who run the Orc Carts..thus getting  more-or-less  fresh flesh to eat, The Lynx favorite prey is Goblins...so...we find goblins...we tend  to tuen live ones over to  lynx who help us...Now?  Finding Lynx..that is  a whole nother  story...in the forests and grasses they are nearly ghost like..in cities  and town they are  at a great disadvanatge...they come here to trade...when they do..a Unti of  watch always goes  aropund with them, to proptect them...and to protect the people...as far as them helping? I would imagine they would agree...They collect fangs  and claws of other cat-folk as some sort of holy thing  with them.

Rolk, his eyes turning smokey with suppressed anger, listens carefully.  When time allows, he speaks up.  "I would be willing to go after catfolk, if there is a need."  "Or even if there isn't," his eyes seem to add.

Rolf shrugs, "I know little of the Lynx catfolk, save that they tend to be a close-net sort.  They don't care at all for goblins and they don't take much to the panther catfolk."

   The Gods of  these lands have  a starange  sense of humor. The Cat folk. though they have become Humanoid, the  way Orcs and such have...they maintain some of thier Cat-like traits...three or  4 times  a year, the Cat folk female go into 'season' for a 10  days' time. In that tie, they seek  Mates...The Males  seek to add to thier stable of females, thus building  better, and stronger dens...though "den"  is the word they use...they  live in villages  and such, some few even have  cave systems...But  the Male  who has  the Most females, has the most offspring, thus..the  most warriors  to impose thier will upon the  Villages.....during thee times...you need not hunt the Cat folk...they hunt you....

Justin smiled thankful for those details, as he chastising himself inwardly for not being specific. "About the other catfolk, should we find out about them before trying to find a Lynx den or head for the Lynx first?"

Standing and stretching out Merik tries to politely cut into the conversation. "For me, these banter although enlightening, is best sited for later. May I have use of a room to change and possibly a wash basin or bath to clean myself up with? This trip, has added a layer of grim I would like to cleanse before tomorrow adding more."

  The  dwarf  signals  for Mara,  show this fella to one of the rooms Upstairs. There be  a bath at the end of  the hall as well. Orin has  a fire goin ' in the boiler  all the  time, so's  ya just Pump the Gold handle Pump fer hot  water. The  plain  metal handle fer cold...

  The Blonde  smiles as  she reaches into her apron and produces a ring of keys,..This way, if you are ready?

With a polite nod, Merik reply's "After you, and thanks." He follows after her his back over his back one more.

  Top floor of the Inn is very well furnished There is  a human sitting at the LAnding  with a  hand crossbow and a pair  of shortswords on his belt. He nods to them  both as he  looks down the railing thatseperates him from the  crowd two floors below.

  as the  walk down the hall, Merik notes  a small stairway going up at the end of the hall, facing the river. A halfelf leans against the  wall with a loaded crossbow, he is looking out over the docks  and the river with a sailor's spyglass.

  Your  room is Number 7 for this night. use the key to lock it  from the outside...there is a crossbar to lock it from within...Unless you request otherwise, Someone  will wake you an hour or so before you are to set off. she places the Key  in his hand, and points  to a broad door  in the  center of  the Hall that has a plaque of a tub on it.there is  the bath..one of the best in the city, thanks to the mechinachin's guild  and the Sage's guild...

Rolf, fire still smoldering in his eyes, speaks up.  "I'd rather put down some of the sodding catfolk, if I have my rathers."

  ..Right you are, Good Rolf. And  there is a chance, indeed, that you will get that wish. One nebver knows where those creatures  will come  from next. Some even come into the city to trade. If  they have the proper papers..they are allowed to do so. But they are heavily watched.  the  elf  refills his glass.Again, we shall see what is posted  at the Gates in the moring, if nothing else?  we will go hunting  furballs. If something else cmes up, we will take that job up, and TAke  any Cat-folk we come across.

  The Barkeep points ot  the  door  and makes a Gesture. the  two sullen fellows have left the Inn. Kree nods but  says  nothing.

Taking the Key from Mara, Merik reply's"Thank you, I'm sorry but I didn't catch your name, I'm Merik." He pauses just a breath before adding "What drew you to the red arrows and how long have you been apart of it?" He waits for his reply re hefting his gear to balance the weight a bit better.

  Mara..I am named MAra. she  tilts her head  just a bit as she sizes him up. 3 summers  ago, my family was in a wagon headed to Ironmound  from Tou. We  did  not have the money to buy or rent a boat, and my father felt i had a better chance  at selling  some of out things on the road, then merely flaoting  down thr river  and selling it at the Bazzar...We  were hit  by a band of slavers, they were lead  by a HAlfling...I am not even sure  if the HAlfling  was from the Red Isle...he did not look like one of them...But  we wre taken..My sister was sold off..gods only know where she is..rumors  have come that she might  have been sent  down river to Olant....

 she shrugs, Father  tried to break us free, he killed one of the slavers, before they killed him..my mother , killed herself, rather then be taken by them...I was bound  and placed in a wagon  with some dozen other  folks...two days  later...during the night, arrows  seem to spring out  of the Salver's  chests...The Elf  and  some of his Kin had found the slavers....I must tell yu..you have not seen ways  to make  men talk, until you have seen the  elf  wih a hot knife!

  About  half  the people were sent back to thier homes, Kree split  the coin from the slavers amoung those who were goinghome, 4 of us stayed with his band...three of them, if they  still live, went to the Village. I came here , to work at the  Inn...

"That's quite the tragic tale. I hope your new life suits you now and I am sorry about your family. What is your sisters name in case I come across her while working here." Merik's face is flush, and as she spoke he hung on her every word. His reply is in a soft tone, more neutral then sympathetic.

  she smiles  slightly,  Lara, is her name Red of  hair, green of eye..a wisp of  a girl..but quick as a cat...she would make a good  Arrow, if  she  still lives...

"If you have faith, I am sure she does. If ever I come across her in my journeys, I will send her to you." He says, returning a reassuring smile. "I am off to scrub this trip off me, I'll catch you later unless you wanna wash my back." He heads off before she can answer, not wanting to see her reaction, either good or bad.

the  group arrives at the Plank.  The serving Girls saw Ivy enter with the littlest girl and rushed over to Him, Kree entered Next and they Moved to the table by the fire place..another one ran upstairs to get Reedrick...Many of the people inside were  Arrows..others  understood, or allied with them.

"These two need some care...we'll have to find their mother as well. I would see a better life for them, if it is possible."

Their mother is working, after all, in a place the Knight would rather she didn't.

After a brief time of fluttering about above buildings when the smiting fell upon Janis, and then the others came into harms way because of their retaliation upon Janis, she thought best to give the Arrows and herself some time to let this issue cool over.

She figured that the others in the Arrows had not seen what happened, but if word got out, she was certain Kree would know who had took it upon themself to issue Janis' demise.

She sat on the top of the building overlooking the entry of Walk the Plank.

  They get seated, the little Girls look around as the  servers  fuss over them, they swing their  feet from the stools brought over to the table

 Kree shrugs,they have a home, and one parent..that is more then most of the beggars have.

  There is a schooner docked  at the end of our docks..The Savage Queen...I want the crew and  the ship searched....and I want a notice sent to the  Navy, that we will be using that ship...also..I want the Crew of Eta's Coin, to be waiting a mile river..we will allow them to board, anscast off the  Savage Queen's crew.

  The Dwarf Looked at the food  being laid out, stew, chicken, bread, sweetmeats and cheese. along with Sweetwater for the  Girls, and wine and Caffee.  The dwarf scooped   a bowl of stew  for the Girls   then himself,..ye dunna trust the crew?

 I do not trust the owner, Commander Jol Lusk...retired...

 The  dwarf  took a big spoonful and nodded,done..and  done...

Before following the others into the tavern Justin paused beside the entry scanning the immediate area for signs they were followed or being watched. After this he entered the Tavern and joined the others. Nodding respectfully first to Reedrick Orebender then to any inside the building who bore the Crimson arrow.

Laithia had been very quiet as they walked along. She had even been quiet when the halfling had made a rude comment to her. Normally, she would have said something in retaliation but between worrying about Carwyn and how Kree and even Ivy reacted, her thoughts were jumbled and hard to pull apart.

As they sat and tucked into a meal, she turned and smiled at Reedrick. The dwarf had helped her out when she needed it. He had been there for her when everything hit the fan. It was thanks to him that she got out of town. She really hoped he may be able to help her.

"Reedrick when you have a moment, may we speak privately?" she says giving him a big smile.

Aye Lassie, Ye can..but  I'm a warnin ye...I already was bedded tonight! that brought chuckles  from the cousins.

"Oh please! You are far too hairy for my taste and my horse smells better than you," she teases right back with a winsome smile as she sticks her tongue out at the dwarf.

 The Dwarf  chuckles,..yea?..well yer  Horse would be embarrassed if he saw me with you....and the hair would keep you warm!

"A real man could keep me warm with no hair needed. His skills alone would warm me a plenty. So is that why you have all that hair as a cover for a lack of manhood?" for the first time in awhile Laithia's teasing smile and manner is back as she spares with the dwarf. Her eyebrows raise to see where this will continue as she gives her friend a large smile, a light laugh escaping her lips.

  The  dwarf chuckles again  and  takes a big sip of  ale,Manhood?...why do you think they call it that..Dwarfhood..now that's what the lassies are after!

"Reedrick, was it? If it's not too much trouble...could you have someone find the mother of these two young ladies? Breena, they said it was? If you need another server here, it might suit her better then her...current choice of occupation."

The children would be better taken care of if their mother had a...better profession. He might have to purge her of disease, considering her current occupation, but that's easy enough to do.

 The oldest one is eating her stew..one could tell that  neither of  the two are used to so much food. though they do not look like they were starving, its plain to see they  wanted to 'stock up'..the littlest one   looked up,..no..Mr. Reedrick..she  works in the Silver HAir..inside the house...

"And who told you dwarves are the next best thing? It must have been a halfling! You really should not listen to them. I mean really to them you must seem manly but they don't call them halflings for nothing!" Laithia says with a grin as she takes a sip of her drink.

  he frowns at Liathia,Ack!..Lass..ye been hanging  around these two....too long..next thing? ye be thinkin' elves are pretty!

 After the servers finish with the  food ( they bring the  girls a bowl of crushed ice with berry syrup). One Puts her  arm around Kree and ask,Will there be  anything else?

 The elf  looks up and smiles  slightly,Not now Lyri, we will hail  you when we are finished.

 she smiles   and turns to go, her  hand  lingering on Kree's  shoulder  until she moved off.

  Refilling his  wine Glass ( and Ivy's after he bumped his arm twice) Kree looks around the table...There is a traitor, both to the state, and to the Arrows. We needs, find out who. After some time of self-pity and loathing, she flutters down to enter into the Inn and sits at the end of the table where no body was occupying just in time to be caught by Kree's eye.  Her face flushed a bit and she listened intently to what he spoke of.  She gave a nod to herself and him that she understood what he spoke.

Riku gave a nod towards Kree's way.  I'll be your silent invisible predator, she mumbles.

We ran into Calise when we saw the emperor and she made a comment about him that has me worried! I should never have mouthed off to her! If she did something to him, it may be because of that," Laithia's voice is pained as she speaks quietly with the dwarf.

 Reedrick Looks at Laithia, his eyes go sad, for just a moment, then the sterness of his voice  forces them back to  a warrior look,Yer Friend?...Well..I'm a thinkin he ain't no more....He was  caught in the orchands as he ran away from teh docks, he had a bag with him, the city guard caught him..right and easy it was...They took him to the  Magistrate at the  East River  Gate  compound. Seems he stold a bunch of silver and gold things  from yer lady friend , you just mentioned.

  They  sentenced him to 5 fights in the arena, he made it through his first two..worse damn bit of fighting I ever did see.....he never fought again. Some say he died from wounds...others say he signed up fer one of them Missions the  Emperor is so fond of..ya know..out you go..you come back  with the deed done..or ya die...

Doth soundeth ast if yon Emperors Court be afoul with those of evil intent; ones who plot in the shadows watching for the slightest failing of any who possess a pure heart and purpose. "While we were in the palace, I searched about for dark intent, just in case. I found it in the colonel who insulted our commander, but that's not nearly so troubling as finding it in the priest of Alpower. I find it unlikely that Alpower himself has dark intents for the world. I find it much more likely that a priest of someone else was masquerading as an Alpower priest. That is why we must first start at that temple."

Because they might not be the only bad ones of the bunch. There might also be some REAL priests of Alpower that need saving.

Rolf continues his habit of using his eyes and ears instead of his mouth.  He follows along, keeping an eye out for anything of interest.  Eventually, his eyes fall on something that seems a bit out of place.

He moves over to Kree and whispers a warning.  "There's a Dwarf that's been paying us a bit too much attention.  At least he's made up to look like a Dwarf.  He's been on our tail for a while now."

To Rolf's thinking, they weren't doing anything particularly bothersome that they should be worried about being followed, but it just didn't sit well with the Ranger, being stalked instead doing the stalking.  Still, he wasn't used to the ways of life inside the city walls, he'd let Kree decide how they should respond, if at all.

..when you pick which group you want to go with, keep an eye  out for him , and point him out to either Ivy, or myself.....

  He motions   a server over and  whispers about  watching for any strange dwarves that might come into the Inn...though Kree sits with Ivy and  Redrick facing the doors, he wanted to be sure...

After the discussion, Riku finds a quiet spot and contends to herself.  She hadn't expected what happened to have happened, but it did.  Her paladin side didn't like it at all.  She kept an eye out on the room as she sat with her thoughts and a bit of drink.

Laithia listens to what Reedrick has to say. Her face darkens as his words hit home. She had not know Carwyn long but it seemed weird for him to do something like that. Shaking her head, she tries to dispel the unease as she asks the real question. "Do you know, is my place ok? I did not have much but clothes and a few personal items but it was still a place I could sort of call home. If something has happened then I am not sure I can deal with stopping there right now. I might just want to deal with it later," she trails off as she looks expectantly at Reedrick.

  the dwarf shakes his head, dunno lass..ain't been there for..3 months now?...the City watch goes  by there..but that won't stop no one fromw goin' in if they want...sorry..never thought much  of the place..figured you went back to the Village, found some Young Elf buck to shack up with? he winked  and grinned.

Rolf gives Kree a nod, "Aye." he says simply.  While not the most able at subterfuge, a lifetime of stalking pray had taught Rolf a certain wily wariness and he was sure he could manage.

  Kree stands  as he  finishes his last cup of  wine. he shoulders his pack and grabs his Bow...Ivy does likewise, but he grabs a few Sweetmeats to take with him.

 Let us be of..the night is on the wane, and we have much ground to cover...Those  Coming with me follow me out the Door, Ivy's group leaves a few minutes after  us...should anyone be watching, we will make it a full night's  work for them.

Foril didn't seem to register much as they sat, "Before you go... does anyone know about that group of people with... it looked like silver rings?  They were on neck chains.  I'm assuming it was a group thing rather than some other kind of messy affair."

It was easy to forget he was around when he got lost in thoughts, but he was trying to be here for the group.

  Kree looked at Foril, then to  Luthien,many groups..even  nobles  use a silver or gold ring as part of their ensignas...The most notable...is the Alpower..they have rones of Grey..with white trim..and  troops they have will wear that color..they take the silver Ring, much like  our people take the crimson arrow....why do you ask?

Foril shrugged like it wasn't of any particular consequence, "I noticed some watching us.  Lady has yellow trim, the other two made points of showing the rings near her but they could've been anybody if not for those rings.  Well, any Mercs.  I'd prefer to keep Alpower at a distance... neutrality wears many faces, and that's for those who aren't faking it to hide their evil.  Maybe I'll get her a drink and see just what is roiling in her head.  Something exotic but not prissy or prudish."

He moved to the bar after a few moments looking around he looked to the barkeep like he would be a co-conspirator,"Tell me barkeep, are you familliar with a far northern drink known as Dwarfmaids' Lips?  If not, I'll make two and you can have one as the price for the other.  I do believe you have all the ingredients."

  the  man behind the bar shrugged, and waved his hands at the bottles. For a place that was in the heart of the docks, it was very well stocked, and many of the bottles were know, not to be cheap.

Foril moved over to the other side of the bar and he didn't grab anything that was 'wealthy' but there was a mix of drinks and only one of them was not generally thought to be a pleasant thing... even by murkier mouths... he finished by placing the tall narrow glasses on the bar and each held what appeared to be an earthtone rainbow with ice that looked like gemstones because it didn't quite come all the way to the surface.

"It's potent, some say bitter at first, then it runs kind of earthy before sweet.  If you chug the first two colors you can skip the bitter more or less.  Said to be like the greatest dwarf ladies' kisses.  If you try to chug all the way to the sweet bottom, it'll put you out on your rump," he said with a smile.  "It was a favored drink of many back home.  I was a bit more partial to Salamander's Tongue myself, but that needs magic to make properly.  Not a huge investment it's more flash than substance.  Not going to get anyone drunk, but great for entertaining."

Justin adjusted his equipment then rose, following Kree from the tavern. The reports of people watching the arrows didn't sit well with him nor he assumed with the other Crimsons. Once outside Justin scanned the immediate area for figures that may be keeping those mentioned.

This time about, Riku stayed close and very too herself.  She was too at odds with herself to make much conversation.  Even so, she took note of the concerns about being watched and she too returned a protective eye over the group that departed with Kree.  Though quiet, it kept her mind busy instead of rummaging through the shoulds and should nots of what had occurred.

Justin noticed the flighty lass appeared to be less talkative than she normally was. After a short time he gave a shrug, concluding that if she had something on her mind she'd seek Kashteil's, Diana's or Laithia's council.

  Kree, Riku, Luth, and Justin ( thus far?) headed to the door.

  Ivy was finishing his  meal and drink as he , Liathia, looked to see who was going with them

 One of the Arrow servers  stopped Kree a few steps from the table,..the elf  Mage? He seems to be having some problems...we put him up in a room..Ani Gave him some herbs..he'll be out a while..but...i don't think he would be able to function much anyway?

 Kree frowned , placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, You and Ani did well..keep an eye on him...i think his eyes were opened..too wide...too soon...he might  be more suited to the sage guild..or as an assistant  in the  mage Guild..  the  girl smiled  and  went back to her  serving

(( because of the type of area's the two groups are going, I am going to assume Rolf will go with Ivy..since it is more 'wild'..the the stuffy Temple section? if I am wrong  we can easily shift him...I am also assuming Foril will go with Laithia , and Ivy..if I am wrong on any of these..please tell me in PMs  and i'll make  adjustments IC.))

  Kree, moves out the Door with  Luthien, Justin and Riku..they turn back up the docks , the last of the sun is about to fall below the walls..the lamp lighters can still be seen doing their jobs, as they look out over a half-mile, to see the  dots of light  flick on ..they can see the Navy yard, the top of the Palace, and off further, the tops of  some of the temples...a lot of trees are there..Even on the  Rising Mound of   THE Iron Mound...tinylights frame a few  Holes in the Mound that the Dwarves use  for entrances...but the main entrance is at street level, not able to be seen from this side of the river.


  IVy's  Group waits a good 5 minutes, and Ivy places the glass he used on the table. Reedrick looks at them,don't hafta  worry about yer cousin..he's not about  to take anything from no one...you be careful..ya hear?...  Ivy nods with a grin, Reedrick give a look to Laithia ,and a sad wink...then head back to his  office  through the kitchen door.  Laithia, Di , Rolf  and Foril gather their things  and move out.

  The walk up the  dock, to the River path, Kree points at a couple small side streets they pass, saying,..Tha way takes you to the open market area...alot of Common folks live around there  as well...in the uppper North west corner is the Orc section..its walled off  by a Palisade...but  next to the wall..the orcs have  pledged to defend that corner of the wall..should they ever break their treaty?..the whole town would be burnt to the ground...saddly? They have lived up to their word, more then most of the Humans i have deal with...

 as if on Cue, One of the Orc  carts come down the river path..they are loading the bodies of the dead Guards and  one Halfling  on the cart...down in the river , there is  still smaller serpents snapping at the bits  and pieces,left from the other.   Orcs make good coin, hauling the dead away..most times they get some of the body's  belonings  as well..to sell or use...you would be surprised, what you can by in the Orc's market section...if you dare enter...

 Troops are seen in the distance , marching down the  Avenue towards the Seagate,Kree points to the  wide road as they near itChanging the guard...those troops will have the watch until the sunrises...

  As they went up the Docks, the Inn just at the top of the docks is called 'dockside rest'..it, like all the inns and bars at he  docks, seems pretty full, many folks even eating or  drinking outside  sitting on stools or crates.

  as they walk up the River path, and to the street they came down before they see shops, that are still open ( most shops are open around the clock)..the first is  "ships ahoy" he rents and repairs  boats  and ships, up to the size of schooners.

  abit further  up the pass a shop that simpoly says.."furs".. right now a pair of Men , who look like they could be Rolf's kin,are leaving the shop with a pouch of coin and talking in a garbled thick tongue...the last shop the past before getting to the North-west ( and North East) way is called  'Lamps and LAnterns"..they sell all manner of lighting.

 They walk past the Inn on the  Northeast corner called  'Merchant's rest'...across the Ave they see another  Inn called  "the Bridge Inn" that one is overly crowded, even from where they stand they can see that... a large sign, lit by magic ..down to th the northwest says " Kron's Equipment'...one of the largest stores in the city...some of you might remember seeing branches in Bowshop and Tou..there is a small 'stall' in  Kree's Village..it was all they would allow the  Human-Halfling run company...they turn to their left, heading south ..they notice the signs  by the Bridge..on the North side of the Bridge the sign says 'Northwest way'...on the other side of the Bridge, the sign says 'Southwest way'..one would assume the other  end of  town would be the same...they continue past areas  familiar now as they see the  Main gate coming up on their right, and The Road  Of Kings, on their left....

   Ivy leads the Team out the door and to the East, down the docks...they pass the  "Bronze Goblet'..which, like  the other ins..is packed now, and will only get more business as the night goes on. East Bank Street..leads  directly to the Bazarre ..Trader's Rest..another  dockside bar is on the  corner of that street..they pass' Cor's Pawn Shop'..a place where many items end up, when adventure folk need coin..'.Boats and Things'..is next, they sell small fishing  boats  and fishing gear for both  fisher men, and  those who fish for fun. ' Sabre's Inn' is next..another packed  inn..the sign, is alot like  The Plank's..magic in nature..it shows a Sailor Stabbing a Kraken and putting up both arms in victory..then and arm grabs him..it then resets and does it again...to the north, they see the walls of the Prison and its shipyard..lights are on as the prisoners work around the clock, in shifts,,a small park is  on this side of the prison, a lot  of tress and  flat grass...there is a line of  small houses there...

 Ivy points to them,we shall stop at Laithia's first, so she may check on her house  some of the people who own or rent the other houses watch the group walking towards the houses. It is nothing new to see groups of armed folks walking about..they come to Laithia's house...the Door is half hanging off the  hinges..a sign..in common says This building will be taken over  by the Ironmound housing  company if not contacted by... the date is scrimmbled and smudged, the best any one could make out was..two days from now...

Laithia hugs Reedrick whispering a thanks to him for answering her questions. As they walk through the streets and get closer and closer to her small house, the knots in her stomach tighten. Her steps even slow a bit as they reach her street.

When she sees the door hanging off the hinges, she lets out a strangled cry. Her hand shakes as she takes the note off the door, her mind trying to decipher what it means. Tears roll down her face, as she hands the note to Foril and pushes the door open not really wanting to see what was taken or destroyed but needing to know. She had clothes here and a few items that were her mom and dad's. Her father's bow was here along with her mother's hunting knife. Her parent's wedding bands were here as well as she tries to take in the state of her place and where to look first.

Foril cast another spell, detect magic to be precise... he would learn shortly if there was magic active or recently so, on the place, though it might take a little study to determine the specifics, "Just a moment.  There's clearly been time for someone to take valuables left here unless they were well hidden... if they suspected you left anything they couldn't find, they'd leave traps or ambushes.  Though if the bitter miss really thinks your as trampy as she touts, then she really wouldn't think you'd come back."

 Foril's spell shows no magics, save for the dagger...(( mark off spell))

Foril gestures to the dagger that has stood out to him thanks to his temporary gift to sense magical auras, "It looks like the damage was likely done by physical power rather than magic.  That dagger yours?"

  Ivy and His group return to the Plank, Reedrick see Nara  and he furrows His Brow, Motioning the Group to the stairs, that lead to the   Basement.


  As they moved  down  the steps, they could hear More noise, there were several large, stoneworked, rooms. each with a double door...most of the rooms were empty, though one had a group of Arrows  talking and going over  Maps.

  Reedrick  sent  Ivy's group to the  last  meeting room down the Dwarven made hall,

 so? Whatcha got  here..and  why didja brink the vamp here.?


  Ivy  motioned for NAra to sit, Nara  was scouting for Kree..she has found out some news..that may . aid us..in out  next steps...

Laithia was quiet during the trip back to the Plank. Her mind was taken up with everything that had happened. She had lost a lot in her life but this last was something that left a bitter taste in her mouth. Her hand went to the knife, the only thing left now of her parents, as anger welled within her. She would pay that woman back if it was the last thing she did! While Calise grew old and withered, Laithia would remain young and beautiful and she would spend the time making the human woman pay for her actions.

Reedrick's words bring Laithia's attention to the present as she looks around the room they are now in. Her green eyes flit over to Nara, studying the vampire as she leans against the wall. Turning to Foril, she offers the elf a small smile as they wait for Kree's group to return to the Plank.

His return smile was kind of sad.  Foril had his own obsession of conquest... but he sorrowed a little for Laithia on account of her loss.  He knew that she was as passionately invested in those things as many humans... which was a bit unusual to him.  He didn't yet know that she had plans to make the human woman's life miserable.  Foril could associate the loss of parents though.  His were still alive but they were... like a saddening number of the elves from his homeland... vacant.  Lost shells of who they once were to their loved ones.

Perhaps it was the perpetual wonder of the land in which they lived that made them seek such an extreme state to consider themselves in a good state.  But that was a concern less immediate.  The vampire... Nara if he remembered her name right... supposedly had great important news to share.  She would probably want to wait for Kree's return.  That meant that it would be a concern to ensure the safety of those around here until she gave her message and could go.

He began making some preparation to use magic... a simple trick really, not a real spell unto itself.  "Nara... are there maps or persons particular to your message?  I'm going to prepare a spell to write what you say in case we need to take the words with us or go over them later.  How are you for having eaten?"

  Nara Looked at Foril, she  seemed to try to get closer to Ivy, But  Ivy seemed , less then comforting...no ..no maps....most of what i have, is from  word-of-mouth. The  Golden Horn found  out  I was asking around....

 ..Now what's that  damn Fool Elf got us Buggered up in?..he looks  around  as   two of the server  Girls, ( with arrow pins) enter...One bringing  Wine and water, another bringing  two pitchers of  ale and Mugs.

Laithia found herself once more moving closer to Foril. There was something comforting about having him around as Nara voices how she was snooping around and The Golden Horn caught on. With a sigh, she runs fingers through her red hair as she takes a wine from one of the serving girls.

"The real question is what have we gotten ourselves into here! I feel we are being set up for something. Why the hell would the emperor do this? Sounds like we are on a wild goose chase here!" she hisses as she leans against Foril.

In a quieter voice that maybe only Foril can hear, she continues "all this time we will be gone and Calise will be walking around free! She will think she got away with this all! I will not let her go unpunished for her actions. She will pay for what she has done. I will make her suffer!"

Foril started at Laithia's rage, he offered quietly, "It is near the wound... but I have to ask, is she really worth it?  I would suggest just letting her die of old age... it ravages humans far more than we could hope to with violence and as a target for your anger... well... that is the closest thing to immortality she can hope for, to live on in your mind."  He stayed in place for her to lean on but it surprised him... and he admonished himself for it.  The lands here were harsh enough to where most wouldn't expect a long life unless they were in secured walls with many soldiers at their disposal.  "Just keep yourself alive and enjoy the misery she is destined to sink to if she lives that long.  It would be sadder to me to see you lose out on life being consumed with such a trivial woman... however offensive she may be."

Laithia thought about his words as her head leaned against his shoulder. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes contemplating her possible actions. He was right and she knew it. This way of thinking of all consuming and not how she wanted to live her life. She tried her hardest to keep her chin up and enjoy the life she had due to the sacrifice her parents made. If they had not fought so valiantly, the slavers would have found her. And if they had found her, she would not be here right now with Foril and Ivy and Kree and the others. Life would have been so different!

"Maybe you are right. Not sure my parents would approve of this but I guess I just need to let go. He knew he was married and he still....thank you Foril,"she turns her head, her lips pressing against his chest before she goes back to resting her head on his shoulder.

"I am glad I have you as a voice of reason. I may have to come to you more often for advice," she says a large smile on her face as she looks into his eyes.

Reaching the tavern Justin enters; standing to one side of the doorway, he scans the interrior. As he waits for the others to enter, he watches the patrons checking for signs of perspective trouble.

  Kree asked a woman , if the others  came  back, she jerked her  ehad towards the  stairs down..as she went to walk away, Kree Said..If  some one from The Alpower comes in here..ask them to leave...if they refuse..get them a ride  on the Orc Cart...

  The woman Nodded grimly Aye Lord...I mean Captain Quickshadow..I will pass the  word along to the look outs as well.

   Good Lass...  he  smiled  and lead the rest of the team down to the  Lower meeting rooms. When they came through, Kree asked 'What did you find out...."

 He looked at  Nara. The Vamp moved a bit closer to Ivy, especially , when she  saw the gaggle of holy warriors with Kree.

Luthien also looks troubled...for the things his temple told him...there'd be a war in the heavens soon. And mortal warriors like himself and Justin and Riku would soon be called in to fight it. Especially Luthien himself.

When Kree said 'no Alpowers in here' he nodded grimly. That's not the kind of command he'd ever thought to hear in his life, but...it's the way it has to be. Everyone had to band together now.

Riku followed near by, fluttering above and around everyone's shoulder level.  She paused and braced herself as they took the stairs down and Nara came into view.

She gave the female a nod.

  Everyone Settled in, more  drinks  were brought..a thick Goblet was handed to Nara. she looked at The Server  Girl who shrugged  and walked away. Nara took a  sniff and  then a long  sip...her hand  stopped shaking a bit.

  The Dwarf shrugged,Had one of the Boys  watch for the Orc  cart....

 Kree  chuckled and shook his head.  From our  Part?..we never  made it to the Wizard or the Witch....the  Larger Temples have  sent thier  top  leaders, towards the Fur Man's Chain...It would seem, The Alpower wants to take over  all Control of the Heavens...he ..supposedly
,seeking allies  for himself with the Dark gods to HArgen...

 Thant will not  work, some of those gods  are just  ours, with differant names... Ivy protested.

 Aye...but not all. So any he gains  will add more power to His  side... he shrugged, The Pirests, Clerics  and Paladins left..one large Group...Only Eta, and Neta's people travel  alone....

 Kree smiles  a slight twisted  smile,...you have the right of it..the  heavens  would fall apart, and  out  world  would rot, as many things  would be left unattended...

 Ivy Points to Nara, The Vampess stands,taking another  sip of the blood.As Kree had asked me...I came to  the city  to ply my trade and get information...things are in a bad way, The Red Blades, and the Golden Horn, are split, in thier thoughts of the  City being casted into chaos....there is a war declared, The Horns and the Blades hunt eat other  like animals....The Red Blades have formally asked me, to ask  the Arrows for an Alliance.
. The  Horn has even taken to killing members of the Beggars  guild who help the Blades....The Beggars  guild, and  The Ladies of the Street support the  Blades, and have always been friends to the Arrows...There is also...a new  Thieves  Guild, growing as we speak..in Ironmound. Called the Black Candle.. they seem to relish the trouble that is growing, and Kill anyone, not of thier  own, if the mood strikes them.


 She looks at Reedrick Gnomes  are creeping into the city, by various means..some say they tapped into the  River Tunnels and slip in through Ironmound that way....

She Looks at Kree for a moment, it isn't until he feels her  eyes on him that he looks at her, she speaks to everyone, but never takes her eyes off Kree....the darkness, that is creeping into the City...is reaching out to the Emperor....some even say, he has joined them..others  say he fights a quiet war...The word  spread...like a torched  fire in the slums
 ..that the Arrows were hired by the  Emperor...This has tipped the scales. While the Arrows are hardly the biggest Company in the  lands. It is know for its fierceness...Already reports are filtering in, that other Units of the Arrows have been attacked..or have gone missing...In Tou, a Unit came back from the desert and encountered  Catfolk aligned with the red Elves..they killed most opf the Catfolk, but lost half  the Unit in the fighting...I hear they travel back to  the Village to recruit more.

  They say...this mission your Unit has agreed to take, smacks heavy, of a trap..yet there is a princess missing...none can tell, until one  takes the trip...then? it will be too late...

  Looking around the room,after  NAra finishes  speaking. Above them, they could barely hear the  Music and the  noises of the INN...they could not  hear a word from the  other unit  who were planning their own mission

  Right Then....Tomorrow as the Sun rises..which..is in about 5  hours....we go down the docks to the Ship that is being Given us...when we board, I want the Unit spread out...everyone should place themselevs , to be able to kill at least 2 of the Crew, should it  come to that...

  He motions with his hand to Reedrcik and  the Dwarf unrolls  a MAp,..right here...a day out of Ironmound..we will put in close to shore. Reedrick will have a crew of our own, waiting for  us...We will force the  ship's crew to unship there,and embark our own crew...then..we head to Olant....should the  ship's crew choose to fight, that would mean things  are worse then i thought, and we kill them all...any questions?

Riku heard the news and it was with a disheartening burden. This mission was dangerous at best.  It could go either way.  She nodded to Nara as a thanks for passing along the information even if Nara didn't look at the Pixie's direction.

She fluttered down to the table and placed her feet carefully down on its surface.

Since we will be river bound in stead of on the ground, Capt'n, I would highly advise an aerial scouting either now or an hour before we take port.  That way at least the Arrows will know if there is per chance any type of advanced warning that one might need to know and quickly.

Foril sighed, "I find myself wishing that I had my father's knowledge of magic.  The man was usually smoked out, but he made talismans for communication.  They weren't as good as the ones that grew naturally in the city, but, they could send a sentance or three one way.  They would be helpful for such scouting expeditions.  As it is, I have just as many momentos of my homeland as you Laithia."

  One  Of the Girls came back down the steps, into the room, She  whispers  something to  Reedrick and he says,well?..whatca tellin' me  for...Tell the Elf!

 she sighs  and   Leans over to Kree, her  Arrow  pin dangling between her breasts as she leans over. When she is  done, Kree nods,Aye...bring him down...

  she  leaves  with a quick step, as Kree  looks at Reedrick, hands open...well?

 The  Dwarf clears his throat  and looks around the table,Alright....signed this Big  guy..northman of sorts....was gonna give him to Jurris's unit...but..well i heard rumors of this here mission...figured  you folks  Might  need another strong Arm...

  The Girl Returns with Krius in tow. The Girl moves to stand  behind Kree.Well..This here is Kirus... That Blued  Elf  with the  dullard's smiel is Ivy...he's the  #2 of this unit...The rgeeneyed  one that Fra is standing behind, is Kree..The Leader of this Unit...He points out  each member of the rgoup and says thier  name, leaving full intorductions  for everyone to make.

Justin considered the Womans report, there was something about it that didn't sit right... he couldn't quite place it contemplating it for a moment he thought it had something to do with the comment 'they tried to make it talk before they feasted.' He was about to clarify this when the northman was escorted into the room and introductions were made.

Krius stands straight with chest out, shoulders back with a focused look in his eyes and nods slightly toward each person that introduces themselves with a straight look on his face.

Diana gave Krius a once over, before introducing herself.
She barely budged from the ale in front of her.  Something to her just didn't seem to be ... right.
The whole thing, from the "missing princess" to everything else in the day just didn't make sense.  Yet, whatever as missing, she couldn't quite put her finger on.  It was just on the edge, yet, just out of reach.

  Well..I guess  we all meet in the Common room in the Moring.Nara?...You best stay here  Until tomorrow  Night, then you may leave when the sunsets...

 NAra Nodded. And  One of the Girls took her  to a 'safe place'.

  ..I am thinking, this  amy get a tad  ugly. So prepare yourself....we shall need to be a brutal  as  our  foes...

    Nara  and her....'family'...work out of Bowshot. They are supposed to keep thier Kills centered on  Murderers, Slavers and such. Nara...was once  an Arrow, the  story is a long  one, I will tell you of it sometime, when we have the chance....she came to Ironmound  ahead of us, to ask questions  and such, before  we arrived...it seems my caution paid off...our summons  to the  Palace did little good  for our prep, for this mission....save..giving  us  a new boat.

Looking at her, he searched for sign of a crimson arrow Mistress One sees Thee hat chosen to resign from the arrows, Hath Thee anst Thy family sought assistance from any temple to restore Thee to Thy former health anst free Thee from Thy affliction.

  Nara stopped and Looked at Justin, then her eyes  went to Kree, who just shrugged....I have been.....too long..a child of the Night....those few of my family, who chose to try to wage  war against the darkness, that has taken us...strike back as often as we are able...still..with each loss of one of us, the  ....family...grows  darker...

At the mention of "avoiding the light", Diana's first though was vampire. Although, truth be told, she had never run into one, she had known a few who had, and from the horror tales they told they were nasty, filthy creatures, who had to avoid the light like the plague.  In fact, light was one of the prime ways to kill one.

Still, she tried not to judge.  After all, one never knew when having something like that on one's side could come in very handy.

  As the Meeting ended, Kree  got up from the table,  to Reedrick he  says,..Send the new  Crew out tonight..either through the Tunnels or  on hose back with a false  Caravan..DO NOT...send them  on the River.

  Reedrick  Hrumphed,way ahead of ya..there  are three wagons heading to Bowshot with a load of fresh fish...when they hit the Cross roads ..the  wagon with the crew peels off...they'll be waiting for  ya..


 Kree  gives  the Dwarf a pat on the shoulder,...thank You , Brother...

  as he walks out of the room,Two Bells past the sunrise, we board ths ship...

Krius puzzled at the scattered chatter throughout the room.  He approached the area where Justin was and waited until his prayer was over. "Greetings, as you have heard I am Krius and I must say I am intrigued by the talking I have heard.  Since I am new to the area any advice for a Northman?"

Laithia introduced herself to the newcomer though she stayed next to Foril, her body pressing into his as she leaned partly against him. At the conclusion of their meeting, she motioned to Foril to join her as she moves over to Reedrick. "So do not suppose you have a room we can share tonight so we can rest before we leave on this mission," she says the last word with obvious distaste as she waits to see if her and Foril can catch a bit of reverie in comfort.

  He walks over to  Justin , Krius  and Luthien,..so...Northman..yo have  any dealing with the Watch, before you signed on?

Foril followed with Laithia and after she posed her question to Reedrick, Foril smiled and bowed slightly to the dwarf, "Thank you sir.  You've a heart of solid lead!"

Krius acknowledged Justin's reply with an odd half smile. Krius looked at Laithia and introduced himself "Greetings." He turned toward Reedrick Orebender "The Watch sir? No, I have to say no I have not." Krius felt a little out of place and shifted nervously.

Laithia bid everyone a good night and taking Foril's hand led him back up and through the Plank to Kree's room. Like Kree, it was a no nonsense room with a large bed, a small table with two chairs and a desk plus a armoire. Throwing her stuff on one of the chairs, she sits on the bed and kicks off her boots. Letting out sigh, she leans back on the bed trying to relax and forget about what happened to her today.

"Yes, Justin thank you." Krius thought a bite of food may help settle his nervousness. "Aye I will need all of my strength to achieve our tasks." He said as he picked up a small assortment of fruits and nuts. "We have much too do and I have a lot to learn" he muttered as he took a bite out of the roasted leg of some unfortunate woodland creature.

Krius washed his meal down with a large ale.

"Ah that is much better my friend" he said to Justin. "Now to learn of the evils of this land and our place in it."

   Fetcher Brings the  Big fellow into the Inn. It is fairly crowded as it is near noon.

 save  for a Big table near the hearth, there a many empty chiars there..but  no one dares sit. a Dwarf with Black hair  and beard sits there , going over some parchments.. he has a Helmet that has one horn on the front, like a Unicorn. On his leather armor is a Ruby red arrow..

 Reeedrick? This is Aramis..Just got of a boat...looked like someone  we could use?

 Reedrick reaches into his  pouch and  tosses Fetcher 2 gold coins, he  grabs them  with his right  hand ,like a  frog's tongue with a fly..Ye get the rest ifin he signs....

 Have a seta Aramis...I'm Reedrick Orebender...I run this place of the Crimson Arrows fer me friends...when i don't get ta go out killin' slavers and such...

 a woman appears at the tanle  she Places a Mug of Ale  by Reeedrick and he says,Tell 'er what ye want..food , drink..its on me..no matter if ya join or not.....

 The woman as a red metal arrow on her blouse, as  a nasty looking   dagger on her belt.

  The Dwarf  waits for the waitress to  come back. She sets  a Mug of ale down and a large  Bowl of stew, along with a loaf  of fresh bread and butter. She  sits a sandwich  in front of Reedrick.

   Right then, I will spell thisn out for you...you can  Join the army..or the navy, you'll earn gold..get inta some fights. Or Ya join a company..if your on the charter of a Company, it can keep ya out of the Arena should  you get into a street fight or some such thing...I offer you a chance to Join the Arrows..should you Join, I'll be sending you out  to link up with  a Group on a mission..some folks  came back from there..some..well..didn't make it..so I must assume they can use the Help....

  Reedrick  studies the  Big fellow with a careful eye,..ye might last a while in the arena..there have even been people who live...but i wouldn't bet on ye...

 ...the Mission is  secret ...they were sent to retirves some on that the  HArgen bastards have taken in a raid....The gold? will depend on whether they get that person back..or Nay...and  then the coin is divided up among the survivors...and ..of course, the company gets its  share.

 Reedrick  nods to the Girl and she  moves off to the  bar.  Right then, here's  what yer gonna do..You can either  catch a boat here...might be cheaper  in Bowshot, which is right down the road a bit....and You will take it to Olant.

 The Girl come s back with the Bottle of  cold  wine ( Ironmond Vinyards) a a pair of Glasses. She places a small  wooden box on the table  by Reedrick and she leaves.

 Reedrick  opens the  Box, there are dozens of  Red Arrows, some of Gem stone, some of Metal some of  painted wood. Reedrick looks at Aramis  and closes his eyes, pulling out  a silver arrow with Red flethchings  and a red arrow head.

 ..ye pin that where  folks can see it....somehtin' happens..word  comes back to me, or those in Razorhawk Village...some towns guards will even leave  ya alone when they see the Pin...

 Mind ye.... he shakes a stubby finger at him,..there are all manner of  companies out there..some good..some dark...some, like us?..in ebtween, so's  we have enemies on both sides....what them good ones don't understand, is that we do whatever it takes   to get the job done...and we don't treat them dark folks with tender care...if ya get me meanin'

 Now..back to yer  mission....You get to Olant..Olant is at the base of the Furman's  Chain..all the  towns there are allied with Ironmon,except  Olant..they say they are neural...but the  town  is as dark as they come.... When ya get to Olant..yer to Seek out the  Unit  Lead  by an Elf, Kree Quickshadow...he's  a mean once...and that's the truth...but he'll nay suffer a slaver to live...or a person ta be a slave....If..ye  find them, ye  find out if they need help...if they do..ye  come back and  see me...if they don't  then you help escort them back...once that's over..we'll get ya  another  job, or ye can stay with Quickshadow's group..first?..ye got ta find them.

...leaving the Walk-thePlank Aramis   heads   to the North Gate...the North River  gate is opening slowly, even from where he is on the docks, he can see the   Huge Iron rods  moving outward, and the  top of the Wall raising like a  drawbridge, to allow  an Ironmound River Navy warship to come through..the   bright on North west-Northeast way  has risen as well, and traffic  has  stooped. Aramis is a Good Mile  or Mile and  a half away from that  main road...A few  Yards  down from  'The Plank"  is the  Dockside rest..it has a few people coming and Going.

 a Large man with a scar on his face has a booklet and he is asking for those who wish to try their luck, to fight  prisoners in the arena...ther edoesn't  seem to be too many takes.

 The Dockside rest is at the End  the docks heading North...aramis can either take the path along the shore...or a small path that leads to  the small side streets...

Aramis returns back to the docks
and searches for fetcher,
and a boat to olant.

 H He notes, that  the Docks  end where he is  standing, However the  go up to the  south gate direction for about a mile or so...there are Plenty of ships at the docks.

 and  some smaller fishing  boats are  down by the shore, past the end of the docks.

Aramis moves towards the plenty of ships at the docks.
he is asking there for a ticket to olant.

  As he  heads down the docks, most of the ships have pulled in. None seem to be heading  West to Olant.

 after  a good hour or so, he finds a Serpent Fishermen, he and his crew say they'll take him to Olant for 10 Gold, if he will help defend the ship, if they need it.

and goes and sits in a corner.

 The Dwarf  sailed  for  a few weeks Up the  River, from Engar, then turned  into the   Storm River, in hopes of  reaching  Ironmound

  The  weeks  had  showed him some fighting between  ironmound  river navy and Pirates, or slavers, he had seen the serpents  rising out of the water to snatch a deer or  something from the shore line, and  even seen a school of  small 2 foot long  ones  Bumping against the   hull of his   boat.

 When he finaly sailed Under the Huge  arches of the  City, the river guard pointed him to the largest  dock area in the city.. a dock worker Guided him to the west end of the Dock and said it would cost him 1 gold per night.

  two  people  spotted the dwarf,  a tall Human who looked a bit  scruffy, and a rather  little fellow who hailed him first.

  Hey! Son-of-the-stone!..looking for Good food, good  drink and..maybe ..work?... I got  just the place for you..The Walk the Plank...

 THe  Tall Guy pushed the Little fellow  away, ..fergit the  shrimp!...you wanna come with me..if its coin and food yer lookin' fer!

Baku looked curiously at the two men as he approached, he held up a hand in greeting to the shorter man.
"Work sounds good, and a drink to wet my whistle. Where is this Walk the Plank?"
 As he speaks he hops up on the dock and ties up his skiff, not wanting it to float away.

 Baku can see the dockworkers take  care of the smaller boats  and ships, while the  bigger merchant ships   must be cared for by the crew, though they do pay berthing  fees.

  ..My Name is Fethcer... Follow me...where you from, I normaly try to find  folks who aren't from Ironmound itself..

 He rgins at the Tall Fellow  who snarls  at him, but the tall man moves quickly down  the wharf as some folks exit  a Merchant ship.

  Fetcher Points out to the huge  river...don't see sites like that very often, I'm bettin'
 Two Huge  Ironmound  Warships were warping out of the docks across the River, One was  getting ready yo head  East, the other  west.... The masts were High on both. They'll have to open ht eGates and Raise the bridges  for them..Masts are too tall..those are the Sea Navy ships, they rotate them out...One month at Sea..one month at Mouri..then back home for  2 months... Damn Red Isle Halflings  and the Red Elves..keeps them  busy..Now?..River Nay folks have it nicers,,they  make a patrol..about a month, maybe twp?..then come back home for  2 months..

 By this time they reach the "walk-the-plank"... the sign above the door as  a little  man toddling across  the plank until it falls of..then it zips underneath to the top again ..and starts all over..Fetcher grins at the sign,some say its  clockwork, some say its magic? I don't want to know...it's an eye catcher though!

When Baku realizes that he diesn't need to care for his bost he leaves it in the dockworkers hands and walks up to Fletcher.

"Nice to meet you fletcher, most people call me Red, I'm not from around here that much I can say."

After answering the man Baku just follows him as they walk along, nodding that he doesn't see such a sight often, probably never based on his mouth sitting agape. As he hears of the Red Isle Baku shutters almost inperspecably.

He laughs at the sight of the sign as he crosses the plank into the place which starts his new life.

 As the  walked into The Plank, Baku saw all manner of  folk at lest  half of them were  Humans, a couple  Dwarves , a couple elves. a one Lone Halfling that was  sitting off to the side..he was  eating a small dinner, most of the folks ignored her.

 There was a Black haired dwarf wearing a battered helmet, the helmet had one horn on the front, like some beast would have a horn, around the Dwarf's neck was a necklace of  Orc teeth.

  Fetcher  looks at Baku,theer is  an old saying in Iron Mound...'riding the Orc cart"... you die in a bar fight, or street fight, ..no people to take your body...they sell it to the Orcs who live in the Orc section..they take it  home to help feed the orcs...it is one of the few tribes in the lands that are allied with the ironmound...

 by this time the  reach Reedrick's table. Hey?  Boos... this fella  flaoted in just now?... thought he might be a recruit?..The  DArk Moon guy was there too....

 Reedrick laughs ,..Darkmoons?... good  thing he didn't go wit him...we'd had ta kill him one day...

 Baku Daeson..The red?...this is reedrick  OreBender...   he runs the Plank and the Crimson Arrows in Ironmound....

 Reedrick Looks at the dwarf,well?..least ways...you found  a fella  who's  better lookin' then most ye  bring in..Sit down Baku...

 One of the waitress  comes  Over   she  looks  toned  a tiny red  arrow  pin on her Bodice.Welocme to the Plank.... we have    Beef stew..we have  fried or grilled fish and we have chopped up ham silces... Dinners  come with Bread and a drink...

 Reedrick  motions to the waitress,...Go ahead..eat. relax..we don't begrudge  a fella  a meal..whether ye  join or not...

 ..um...Boss?

 Sit down fetcher..ye  can eat as well...

Baku walked over and took a seat at the man's table. Turning to the waitress he says "Thank you, its been a while since I had warm food, so stew, and I would love an ale.

Baku grins at Reedrick. "Now I hear you have work, truthfully I'm a bit low in coin, could only keep my boat docked a little over a week so I need the work. But, desperate or not I do like to know what I'm getting into, so who are these Darkmoons, and why would you have had to kill me if I went with them aye?"

  Reedrick is about to say something  when the  waitress bring over a  crock with a Ladle  and  three bowls , she takes   fine silver  spoons out of her apron and lays one in front of each of the men.

 Another , somewhat Younger girls  comes with a tray and a pewter Pitcher od ale..three puter  mugs,  The Mugs and Pitcher  are getting a film on as they warm up.

   Reedrick nods to them both and  they head off to other tables,Ale's Cold..so'd the pitcher and Mugs..we have Some Ice below..get some fresh every Month from the mountains... as he talks  he fills Baku and fetchers Bowls to the rim, then his.

 the younger  girl returns with a bowl of hot biskets wrapped in a clean bartowel.

 she place a jar of   Butter and some silver knives. As  Reedrick butters  a roll he says,..first off? we're the Crimson Arrows...some folks like us, some folks hate us...but ain't only one thing that matters...we get the job done...sometimes? it ain't anywhere near pretty..but we make sure   we do our jobs.

 fetcher  smiles as  he spoons the stews in his  mouth, dipping a roll in the bowl and eating that as well.

 We take almost any job, unless its what we thing is bad?....now? we have units  running around out there..the leaders, they'll pick up side jobs from the towns and such...bottom line is..we don't kill anyone that don't deserve ta be killed..but..boyo? we'll kill them dead if they are..

 ..now...no matter what compnay ya  sign with?...there is   some other company that don't like ya..some are just flat out  dark...they'll take a job ta kill an orge, and  a day later  take a job to steal some babies for a wizrad to make spells with..

 Those folks?..we  will kill..and they know it..so's they want to kill us...Ironmound...she's a free  city, anyone can come and go..which makes it damn hard to keep  spies out....but if yer a Slaver  or  Come from HArgen or maybe  work with them red Elves....River Pirates.. well..sooner or later  you'll do somethin' stupid and a price will be  put on yer head..or?..you get caught by the watch..then you'll end up in the arena.

  We ain't all real good folks..we have some folks who are as near the the  dark as they are the lIght, but that  don't make  no nevermind...if ye  do your job, protect your  people ..yer good..

he takes  a  spoon full of stew and nods at the taste as he looks at the Bowl, his eyes  lips as he  chews,..oh?..an' we kill slavers..every chance we get..sorta the family business..that part is...

  now...we have a unit down river..just so happens  they took a Job from the Emperor hisself...ain't heard  from them, Cept  the  Little winged one came up and gave me an Update..they might be able to use  anything  body... If ye  want in, ye can start off tomorrow morning, take  a rom here tonight, on the house....

 ..ifin ye don't want ta sign with us?..you can take a room at half price fer the night, least we can do, since ye wasted the time ta talk.

Bade takes a few mouthfuls of stew as Reedrick talks, after hearing it all he sits back on his seat and takes a large gulp of ale. "Okay, it sounds good. If I play by the rules from here on, the past don't matter do it? If it don't than I say alls good. I'll join up, I'll head out first thing in the morning and I'll fight anybody you say. I'll kill any slaver I see too. I just got two requests. First, you pay for my boat's docking fees, take it out of any pay I should get." He takes another gulp of ale, "Second, I would like leeway to research history on a ship which either sank about 45 years ago, or at least lost a young dwarf when I'm in the city.

well..fer  your ship? You may just need  it to get to the Unit i was  talking about..when you don't  use it, we have a space at the   Far end of the Wahrf, we have  two ships Docked there, that are, ours..we got them as Prizes...We have another   one  Down river  that took the  team  a bit of the way...Ye  can secure  yer boat  with them, and follow the Ship's captain's  orders to  joint up with that lot...

 He looks to the   Bar  and holds up  the near empty Pitcher.

 As fer lookin' into that ship,  We might  be able ta get some  information from the ironmound  navy's  records..and I can get ye into the Sagwes  guild  ta ask  some stuff as well..the.."learning  quarter is in the Southwest corner..the  sages  and folks who mess  with  machines are there..Library..things like that...

Baku smiles, he downs the rest of his ale and takes a huge mouthful of bread. Swallowing, he holds out his hand for Reedrick to shake, "Excellent, thanks in advance but I guess all that's left is for me to get down and help your group out. First thing I'd head up the river and meet this captain. You have a map so I don't get lost on some tributary, or is it easy to keep a route to where the ship is?

  well... yer gonna  need this..., he reaches  in his  Tunic  and Pulls out  a drawstring pouch,  he Dumps  a few dozen Pins on the  table, some are red  Gems, some  metal that is read, even a few wooden  red  ones. He picks up a small ruby arrow,Now?..Out there? There as  as Many folks that Hate us, that5 love us...and the ones in between?..well ye  don't trust them, because they can go either way...That said? Ye  wear this in plain sight...we are a 'name' company..folks around  the whole of LAynak Know  us....

  He Opens  a Book that he takes from a little shelf behind his head and Writes in Baku's  Name...Time  comes  that you want out?..ye give  that Arrow to  the nearest  Arrow that ye  see  an' we'll take yer name from the rolls... ye walk away and Keep the Arrow?..well..we'll hunt ye down

  drawling something  Quick, as  if out of habit, he  tears a sheet from the back of the Book,..here's a rough  map...i keep a few handy , but i have ta write in some places... Now  somewhere  between Bowshot and Olant..ye  should find our ship... When ye approach the ship..You shout..." ARROWS OF RED.."...ye should get in return.." ARROWS OF MIGHT"..ye don't hear that part>..ye  keep sailing..if..fer some reason ye don't find out ship..ye havfta  go to Olant...Bad place that, The calls themselves free?..but they ain't..they are  lap Dogs  for the slavers and anyone esle who want's ta help  HArgen...You'll go there, and Follow the Furman's chain, ask about the Arrows who passed through...Now? if ye want..you can get some rest up stairs... don't know if ye should run  out right away?..but the choice is yours.

 Oh..the Leader of the Unit is Kree Quickshadow..an Elf from Black Timber..and his dolt of a cousin, Ivy....But..they'er  like me brothers, so's you help them the best ye can...

Baku takes the small crimson pin and attaches it to the strap of his vest. He nods along as he hears the instructions, taking the map as its pasted to him. Okay between Bowshot and Olant, call out Arrows of Red, hear Arrows of Might. Follow Furmain's Chain or orders of Kree Quickshadow. Got it, and I better sleep, been on the sea alone for two long, just a few hours than I'll head out, thanks for the chance." With that he stands up and heads upstairs.

Glad ta have  ye aboard.. The  girls  will show you were he Arrow's sleep..Fetcher?..when yer  done, head back out, see if ye can find some more...

 Reerick passes   a couple  gold to him, Fetcher  Grins   as he pockets them.

 One of the Girls  show Baku up to the Very top floor of the 6  floor structure.  She opens  a door that is  right  above the  front of the Inn  tot he west side, a window  as a great view of the river.

 ..the Inn is op0ened al night, if you wish to get a drink or food, our understanding is, you stay and eat for free, since you have just signed on.

"Baku smiles at the girl, thank you." He walks on into his room and removes his weapons and armor, and lays down for a few hours sleep.

Baku wakes up just before light and gathers his things, ready to return to the water again. He gets a little grin as he thinks of the water, he has always been happier on the water than on dry land. He hums a short tune to himself, "Where its wave over wave, sea over bow, I'm as happy a man as the sea will allow."

He leaves the room and headed down stares, as he pasted the bar he asked for one last mug of ale before he left, downing it he headed to the front door. A new life was starting for him, and with a smile on his face he walked outside.

    Reedrick comes out  onto the  Docks, he has a Mug in his hand drinking the some Caffe.

 Standing at Baku's  Boat he hands him a Cloth  that is tied shut,Elf always does this?...don't know if its good luck, or comes in handy, but i know i liked it when we was on the road for a while... Aloaf of fresh break and  some  cut op cold  meats

 ..remember the PAss code when ye meet the ships..., ye most like have a day, maybe a day and half, depending on where the CAptain set his anchor...Ladies be with ye...

"Thank you Reedrick, I'll see you when our job is complete." Baku takes the items and hops onto his boat and prepares to travel. He knows his boat well though and in just a few short minutes and he is heading up the river at a good speed.

 As Baku slips into the  Storm River, he sees another  warship entering from the west. The   Massive  Porticullis-like gate s swing  slowly open... He can see the small figures on the top of the Gates, Huge Vats of Tar , smoking , incase they need to dose   an enemy ship.

  The West drawbridge  raises as well..stopping   traffic on the  South-West Way, people  look down at the ships passing through.

 Baku sees a few smaller  fishing Boats following in the warship's wake.. some have archers In them, trying to  hit a serpent that is kicked up by the passage of the Bigger vessel.

 About  15 minutes  or so, they  pass through the gates and the  grind and Clank can be heard as the GAtes begin to close and the drawbridge  comes down.

 Looking at his Map..he should see the Bowshot  Ferry to his left, and the other side to his right..the Warship begins to  loose its  sails as he heads swiftly  to the West

Baku works away on his boat, keeping an eye to the water, an eye to the weather, and any spare glaces to the boats or his map. He loved how busy this made him feel, but he found his mind starting to dwell. It had not been so long ago that he was a pirate, how would he fit in with this people, would things go south. Would they except the joy he found in the fight, or would that think him a madman. These were things he did not know but he knew he would find out soon, so he continued on to find the ship with his new crew.

  Kree and  Brie walked into the  Plank. Reedrick was sitting  by 'his table' going over  some contracts and MAps.

   The  elf  waved to  one of the  servers and sat down across from the Dwarf. Kree took out the  paper and slid it across the table,skinny merchant at the palace gave me this. Can they be trusted...


 The Dwarf looks up at Brie and kree  then takes the paper,..I hear we lost a few of the New ones we sent ya?

 ..the Dwarf with the Boat died  when  the ship picked us up..were were being chased by what is assumed..to be slavers...

 ..from what i hear?.. the other  two died  at the Ferry? his eyes looked over the paper at Brie.

The walk from the Temple District was uneventful as things went. Reaching the Inn Justin openef the door quickly scanning the room then allowing Myranda to enter. Once inside he checked to see if Reedick was still up and about.

 brie had a fight with some poof..she won.. he was't too happy...

Diana slept for three hours, then awoke, with a start.  She was sweating, her heart was racing and her hands were shaking.  It had been a while since she had had THAT particular dream.  It always left her like that.

She woke up, sitting up in bed.  She got out of bed, and went over the wash basin, rinsing her face.  She went back to bed, but just lay there, her mind running, and unable to sleep.

Finally, she got dressed, and decided to go downstairs, and see what was going on.

She went to the bar, ordering some milk.  She wasn't in the mood for anything hard.

Then she went and sat at a table.

She sat back in her seat and crossed her arms.  Who know whom their first target was?  Could have been me, Kree, Ivy, any of the Arrows, they were bat shit crazy, I tell ya.

Brie sees the bottle of woven wine and becomes a bit giddy.  She nudges Myranda and leans over to whisper in her ear.  I think he likes to torture me with that stuff, especially knowing that it doesnt take much to put me out for the night.

Brie stands from her seat and bumps her hip gently into Kree'a and reaches for the bottle of elven wine.

   The Elf downs  his Glass and places it on the Table...In the morning them......

 as they walks towards the Step , a rather large and scarred human tosses  Kree a Key that has  a Little wooden sailor on as a key fob.

Brie heads towards the steps and nearly bumps into Kree when they are halted by the bigger man.

Well then, she says loudly and with a bright smile.  Thank you kind sir.

She looks to Kree.  Now nothing stands in your in way...other than me.

With a wink and a mischevious grin, she grabs the key and hustles to the room to open it ahead of him.

   the is a chuckle from the Elf  as he looks over his  should   and winks at the table, they glides up the steps almost soundlessly.

  The Dwarf shakes his  head, Bloody elves...

  Kree and Brie  come down from their  room, a  cleaning woman takes  the key and heads up to straighten up.

  the smell of hot breakfast, Mingles with the smell of the river  as the  windows  were cranked open top let some fresh air in, and smoke from the night before, out.

 The Dwarf was  just setting a tray of  food  down  by his   table as he began his morning's work. Three others  stood  by the  table  eating   sausage sandwich or scooping  scrambled  eggs from a Bowl. One Human, dressed rather  well was  bitting of   bread toasted over the fire that was dripping with butter and some  jam of some type.

 Kree and Brie   approach the table, to the left of Reedrick is  a Halforc, with many scars on his back, he  wears armor on his legs, but only  leather strips on his torso... a Nasty , two handed  sword  is strapped to his back...one  part of the  blade shines  smooth and sharp, the other  side has Jagged   , saw like teeth. a Hammer  hangs from his Belt.

  An Elven female  sits in the chair, her clock hood down, long blonde hair marks her as one of the  First elves of  Ironwood. He faces  holds much beauty, even though a scar is  bright red on her pale skin, just under the left eye.

 The  Human is dressed like a fellow who duels for a Living, a  pair of thin blades , one on each him, mark him as being  versed in two handed  battles.

  The Dwarf  snorts,..here he is Now... Kree Quickshadow leads  the  a team of Arrows that are based out of Here..... Kree?...(points to  half orc) This is  Malog..he leads   the Unit that is based in Tou..... This is (pointing to  elf maid) is Orila..she leads the Arrows who  have  been granted a small stronghold  at the  very edge of Ironwood...and this ( points to the human)... is  Carn..he leads the   unit in  Trok.

 They exchange greetings   and Kree introduces Brie to them all. Orila speaks  first,so?  you rescued the Princess?... I heard  you were in Ironwood  for a Bit, why did you not  seek us out?

  I had  Sent  Brie  and another rider through the forest to try to reach the Bowshot ferry before we linked up with our ship....I was hoping you would have heard they were riding throuhg?... the other  rider broke away though, i do not know where she went....but ...at the time , trust was not  somethign we had alot of, and Ironwood is not alwasy kind to  Arrows..though, this time they did aid us.

 The Dwarf nods  and  shrugs as  he  waits to swallow some eggs, then  wipes his beard,well... Milo the Fist is missing...last news  we have was, his unit was tracking cats to Mok...assuming they were going to be headed back to the sands?... we don't know if they have all been killed and eaten...captured..or  if they are  tracking them...

 ...and? Kree said  as he ordered  eggs and  hot bread.

 Malog snorts,..and... Reedrick things  the...'great Quickshadow' and his unit can...'aid' us....in finding them

 Orila casts  a hard looks at  Malog, the HUman just gives a course snort.

Rising early as per his standard routine Justin offered morning Prayers & Devotions to Eta. As he dresses he decided to seek guidance from those at the Temple. Heading downstairs to enjoy a morning meal. Entering the common room he paused taking in the gathering, of group leaders. If introduced or acknowledged he greets the leader politely.

Brie began putting a few bits of food on her plate. She was never one to eat much of a morning, unless someone special fixed it.

After a much welcome nights rest Myranda emerges from her room. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes she heads for the common room for a morning meal. Looking about she notices several unfamiliar Arrows gathered around Kree. Catching the eye of a Waitress she politely asks for a bowl of gruel, hot buttermilk chees platter, bread and honey then sashays across the room. Greeting those who are gathered, catching their comment about gathering of Teams.

Diana had eventually gone back up stairs to go back to sleep.  She rested fitfully also eventually she fell into a deep sleep.

She awoke several hours later, dawn was turning into early morning.  She rose, and did her morning exorcises, something she had been lax on of late.  Not that she could have avoided it.  After all, she had been preoccupied.

After an hour of exorcises, she washed and got dressed.  Then she went downstairs.

She stopped at the bottom of the stairs, having never seen quite so many arrow leaders in one spot.  Something must be brewing.

She went to get some breakfast.

Diana bid everyone "morning.", before sitting down and pouring a glass of juice and getting some breakfast.

She turned to Brie.

"So, what's up with the gathering?" She asked, half whispering.

  As each Member of His  unit arrives, Kree introduces the   Unit  Leaders to them, and the other way around.

  ...so..Kree? You keep  your people on a short leash then? his eye looking  towards the stairs to see how many more were about.

 ..when we travel  we stay together..this   is thier  time  to relax... Ivy and   one of the Knights are at the Palace..i should think Ivy is  , at any rate..... But when time  comes to be here.. I suspect they will all be here...or they will have chosen to sit this one out.

 Orila smiles  at Ivy's  name, but  does not say anything until Kree is done,Reedrick has  said you have had  trouble with recruits...

   Kree takes  a bite  of  toast , nods  his  head  and shrugs  as he eats,..A few, we have met, seemed  like good risks... some  died some ...'had  business elsewhere'.  Just because they are given the Pin, doesn't mean they have earned it.... those who  have  entered the city with me  yestereve...have earned thiers.

Valerius emerges from his room, only now the effects of last nights festivities finally starting to wear off, but still there, as evident when he stops dead in the doorway of the room he has no memory of entering, and promptly turning around with possibly the drowsiest face anyone has seen in a long time, bumps his head and only then, presumably goes to get washed up.
 In a few more moments, he comes back out dressed in his attire, but weapons in a kind of bundle in his arms, thinking it impolite to wear weapons at the table. He makes his way with relatively few accidents or bumps as his still sleepy brain can manage.

Brie nods to Diane as she approaches.  Just discussing business and where we may head next, she said in a low tone.

Not on leashes, she said aloud to the others.  We just know where our bread is buttered.

  he walks in with Lia, noting the   different  arrows  about. The    Tender gives him a  key and tells him the  top floor  is thiers.

  Lia  looked ....I know the elfmaid, By her Scar.... and   most certain there are not  too many HAlforc   captains.... That Human though?.. I do not know him....

Justin wasn't surprised by the mix of races who form the Arrow's considering those in Kree's group included a Drow assassin, a Elf Human and Elf Catfolk and a Fairy Thief. With the gathering of these Captains Justin started to wonder about the balance and structure of this Hotchpotch Company as a whole. He's previous offer to Kree and Reedick was pointless, giving a shrug he cut short his train thought, they'd probably heard or thought of anything he may suggest, especially since the two of them had been around for far more years than humans could live. Thanking the Waitress for the meal Justin sat at an adjacent table enjoyed it as he listening to the exchange between the Leaders.

Do you know a lot of the arrows?  Obviously you have more than heard of us, and probably know more about them than do I.   A bit of a yawn catches him off guard as Lafisual finishes his comment toward Lia but he tries to minimize it.  With a key in hand he senses the opportunity to shut down for awhile close at hand.

 .they started  out as a Merc Company out of the Black Timber... they are noted  for going off  mission  to kill slavers and such...most of the Black Timber is now Populated  by rescued slavers that have lost everything...and a good many of them train and join the Arrows.

  They bought  the Plank of an old   man who was ill, and turned it into  their   base...of sorts... They are one of the  3, most feared Companies in the realms.... and the other  two are Evil?...so...

 ..They have expanded ever  since, i think they try to have , at elast, one unit in every town.

Holding off another yawn Lafisual relates, It was a very enjoyable night - and morning.  Will I see you after the arena?  As I said, your version I am sure would be better than the actual telling.  Honestly I am not sure what Kree has planned for us but I best get some meditation and rest.  He puts a hand on her shoulder.  It was very nice to have met you, Lia.  I trust you will be back to tell me how it goes?  He smiles at her.

    It  is growing near time,  Will you all be here when i return, or are you leaving? the elf asks.

  Malog, snorts once  more,..there is a good  bet, I wil ahve to send some of the beggar's  guild children to hunt  down my people... I would like to leave  before  1:00...

 Orila nods  with a sad  smile,we will  be leaving   as soon as   a rally my people.... I suppose  it  will be about the time  Malog wishes to leave..perhaps we  can travel together  before out   time to split  comes?

 Carn shrugs, ..i will leave ocne  i find   my people... I cannot  say, how long that will take.

 Kree    Pours  a Glass of Elven gold and  downs in in a gulp...Then?  Perhaps  your  people, need a new  Captain.  he   waves a hand to the INn,..my people will be here  when  i am ready to leave.. i will not   have to gathered them.

 Then he  turns,whomever is coming?..let us  go watch the fools  kill themselves..and get paid....  CArn glowers at Kree .

  as kree  heads  for the door, Reedrick says,watch yourself  LAddie, he's  not  the right person  ta get on yer  bad side...

 Orila  smiles,..if   all elves were like him,  we wouldn't have to worry about HArgen

Lafisual reponds to Kree ragarding going to the games by showing the key and motioning upstairs.  It seems you would have some company to the arena if you would like it.  He smiles at Lia.  Save travels and hopefully you will get a good story to tell.  With that he nods farewell and turns to head upstairs.

Lucy finally arrived at the Walk the Plank.  She had spent the night with her mother and was glad that she had.

Around Mid-morning she had bid her mother farewell.  It had been a tearful and happy moment, much like it always was.  On one hand, Lucy wanted to stay by her side, and make sure she was safe.  On the other, she had her commitment to the Arrows.

So, she stayed as long as she could before bidding farewell.

She got to the Plank and ordered something light to eat, and poured a glass of juice.

"So, what did I miss?" She asked.

Lucy decides to join the others at the Arena.  Up North they don't have a large arena games, more like smaller ones in the spread out towns, although every town has an arena.

So, she follows Brie.

It had been a very long time since Diana had been to an Arena for the games.  She decided what the hell, she had nothing else to do.

Besides, the Priest vs colonel had her attention, although, her money was on the colonel.

Lafisual says his farewells to Lia after a nice relaxing time and heads up to a room.  After getting quickly settled he starts to meditate and rest.  He looks forward to hearing the stories about the arena as he is sure they will be more entertaining for him than actually watching it.

After Kree and his entourage have departed Justin approaches the Other Companies Leaders and converses with them about their exploits and how it came that they chose the life of as Crimson Arrows. He politely enquires about their respective units composition and if they are in need of assistance in their endeavours.

 He Looks At Reedrick who drinking from his own mug,Orcs  ain't well liked, Halforcs..no one likes, but they were gonna let me stay there.  I had no people to go back to..so i stayed..learned  the  task of being an Arrow...can't say i don't like it....

 Orila  smiles sadly,..I was an Ironwood elf.. my family is still there. I was a  rider. Guarded  caravans  and such from the forest to the  Kings  Road ..we  were hit by Catfolk i was capured... They tried to  take  up up north to some of thier clans there,..The One NAmed Ivyian, saved me..he had a small band of Arrows and they harrassed the CAt folks for two days, until he forced them into a trap they  releases us, and gave us weapons, That's how i got this...a claw wound... she pints  to her eye.

 ..My people would not let me return, thinging the mark  meant i was  tainted by the catfolk..Ivy , himself spoke for me....he offered me a spot  in his  unit,  Until it was deemed he travel with his cousin..so I took his unti over...my people...let us have a small parcel of land ay the edge of the  forest..That serves  as our  stronghold.

There are raiders, slavers, and  Pirates operating out of your area... and we barely get a cooper from your  Unit.... Orila's team pumps coin in , at a steady rate, and MAlog is not far behind Kree's team.... by the gods!...there is  a ship out there we can sell to the NAvy, Our ship captured when he started this mission....

 Two waitresses  had  rushed over and   began cleaning  off the table  and dabbing the parchments, a third  waitress brought over  a fancy mug ( made of  pewter ) , with a refill, for the dwarf.

 ..Kree even brought up, at a meeting , that he wondered if your group as accepting payments from  raiders and  such, so's they stay  out of yer  way, and you stay out of thiers....

Ruling out Carns team as a perspective alternative, and Malog's statement about Paladins; Justin decided Orilia unit would probably be his best option to approach. When an opportunity presented itself he enquired if she would be open to the possibility of accepting his services in her unit.

Entering the Inn Justin greete the staff then looks about For Reedrick; who he suspects has taken a brief respite from his ongoing duties for the Arrows to have some R & R.

   The Dwarf is at his table, he's taking to one of  the waitresses.  A few  folks are coming in, those who are not  brought in by Finder,  are taking seats  as if  they are at any Normal Inn.

 It is thinner  now, pastv mid  day, at midweek, folks are  working, a lot are  at the arena.

After a solid meditation, Lafisual begins to come out of it feeling more centered.  He spends a few more moments letting his senses come back a little and then heads back down to the main area of the 'Plank.  Looking around he is content to see the place isn't so crowded.  He finds a place off to the side where he can contemplate and people watch for a time.

Entering the common area of the Plank Myranda placed an order for stew, bread, and mead before she crossed to sit near Reedick. Giving Lafisual a friendly wave and the roller a pleasant smile, as she sat. How goes the administration Master Orebender.

  The  dwarf huffed,I miss being out there.. been way too long since  a caved in a slaver's  head....

Lafisual returns the wave but is content to relax a bit more and not worry about the business of the arrows for the time being.  He's certain there will be enough of that soon enough.

  It is  close to 7:00 PM  Ironmound time....

   Kree and Brie walk in,  with anyone else who came along. The elf waves to the  grils and Points  at the blackboard that showed  creamed Mushroom Soup  and bread.

 he Set a rather  large Bag in from of Reedrick., the  Puts his   backpack next tot eh  wall with his bow and  quiver.

The Dwarf  purses his lips   and  says, ...if this ain't all Coppers, its more then he said we'd get....

 the Elf  shrugged as a red Haired  Waitress poured  some Elven Gold  for Him ,the  looked to see if Brie wanted any. He mentioned to the crowd, that we ha da bonus  tossed in..also?... being mentioned at the arena?..might get  us a few more honest jobs... he Grinned.

The day dragged on with little to do Justin spent his time cleaning his equipment repairing what needed it and sharpening his sword. Sometime after sunset Justin made his way to the common room for an evening and he noticed Kree and the others had returned. Joining them he ordered a meal and sat quietly waiting for any comment from the Arrows and his order to arrive

Diana walked into the Plank.  She went over to where Kree and the others were sitting.

She gave everyone a nod, and ordered the Cream Soup and an ale.

Lucy went to the Temple before going to the Plank.  She went to visit her mother.  There she gave some of her winnings to her mom.  Finally, she excused herself.  She made her way to the Plank.

At the Plank she also took a seat by the others and also ordered the Cream Soup, and an Ale.

Noticing the entrance of the others from the arena Lafisual moved from his spot off to the side to where the rest of them gathered.  He had had a relaxing day and was ready to get on with whatever came next.

Brie looked to Kree when the wine was being dispensed.

Are we resting now?  Or will we be heading out soon?

She wanted to know so that she could be ready to relax or be ready to head out at a moment's notice.

  Taking a sip of the wine, waiting a bit eagerly , for the soup. Once  Good Reedrick figures out the Coin,  we will dispense it among those   who survived, and are still with the Group. That will be the end of this contract. We will escort the merchant's wagons to Tou, then continue on the  the Black Timber  and Razorhawk Village, By that time, the other Companies  of Arrow  who were here  before, should have an Idea where the Missing  Unit , last disappeared.

 with another sip , he turns  and looks over those who have gathered.We, of course, will take up any small contract we mat find , between here  and The Black Timber, or should  we come upon slaver or bandits that need to die..

 Returning with Kree's Bowl of  soup and a small loaf of Bread, the red Head smiles and places the  them before the elf, taking the bottle of Elven Gold to top off the   Captain's  glass. She fills Brie's  halfway, figuring she  could only be , half wrong, if Brie did not care for it. and leaves the Bottle.

 Reedrick snorts,Look,Plia..we all like ta eat too! Not  just this  pointy eared fellow!

 Plia gestures  to  the  kitchen, were  2 other  women are brings out large  trays with while a young  Land  with a scare on his face, carries two cast iron pots, one with the soup, one with stew.I will spoil the Captain, should I choose, Major.   she   smiles  and   sways  away as she walks.

 The    bowels   and bread  are laid before them as are the Pots with ladles .


 The Lad  with the scar   looks at reedrick.

Those three tables   that are in front of us?...only Arrows  sit there, Until we finish Business....aye?

 The  Kid smiles, the  one side of his mouth a bit tight from the scar. As you say, Major....I will tell the Girls  and the Tender...

 Thankee , Lad.... he waits until the   kid  moves on and says,Don't want no folks who are 'family' to be here  while we go about eatin' and sortin' out t the  pay..

 How is  Grif doing?

 Grabbing his Mug and takin a deep pull of ale, then wiping his  bear with a linen cloth.about what ye'd expect? Damn Cleric of Oleen didn't want ta waste the healing spell  right away

 OOrila  didn't like that much... the cleric  was leton the Kings  road  to find his  own way back, Lads, face couldn't heal right. He's stayin' here,,earnin' some coin...i'm thinking he'll want to be an Arrow in a few years.

 Reedick reaches  behind Him, pulling out a Table that  is a bit  slanted, like a podium , and  has  marking on it.May as well get to it..... he take  a  few slurps of  soup, again, wiping his  beard and begins  to slide  Coins into the slots that stack the coins..Some are gold  , some are sliver.

Brie gives the red headed girl a spiteful look when her cup was only halfway filled.  It was a bit of disgust and disappointment.  She looked at the girl as she swayed away and grumbled.

I have a better sashay than that, she said.  She took a drink and finished it in one gulp. Guess I'll be sober.

She growled at the latter.

Glancing at the Lad Mystal made a bee line towards him; enquiring if he'd mind if she took a look at the injury and see what she could do about it. Seated with Reedrick, Justin listens to Myranda's proposal which sounds interesting as its its outcome, is unique. He asks the Priestess if she'd object to him observing or participating.

She lets Myranda speak before she mumbles something to her.  Just a bitter reminder of where I came from is all, she said.  A reminder of how far I've come only to have something familiar flash in my face.

After Reedrick distributes the Groups allotments Justin raises the matter of allowing Reedrick an opportunity to venture forth once more on an assignment with Kree and Ivy. Offering to fulfil any duties required by Reedrick during that period provided he receives instruction on the Dwarves Responsibilities and any current procedures that are to be completed.

    Reedrick  Motions to the  Tender and  he Holds up a small  drawstring pouch. The tender  says something to the redhead  who  sways her  way back tot eh table, deftly whacking a sailor's  hand  from  trying to grab her  rear.

   She  waited as Reedrick counted  out  Drawstring purses of the same  size, as the one  we  Waved.

 Gold   and silver  went into each bag he had  counted out.,  there were some Coppers from the Coin Kree  had  turned in, they  were swept  into a bucket with the Gold and silver  Reedrick  had  counted  separately .

  He  slid or  tossed   the pouches  after   he pulled the strings  tightRight then...this here's  yer  Cut from the  Contact... tomorrow  morning, Kree is leaving to  provide  Caravan guards to Tou... from there , you will search for a Missing Until of Arrows.....then You'll report to the Village to see what news they have.... we  have been sending  Birds  and  wizard talk back and forth..but the wizard talk coast a bit much..so?....

  The red head Motions  for   two other  girls to  come over, one has a nasty looking  hatchet and looks  like she has used it a bit. another GIrl smiles sweetly and she  gathers  the Bucket of Coins that would be going into the    Company's  holding s  below  the Inn.

 Kree  looks around at those who have gathered. we will leave  for the Main Gate  about an hour before   the sun is  up. I want to be there   before  the Caravan  clears the  custom sheds. Brie smiles and blushes ever so slightly when he mentions 2 glasses, but when Plia mentions a third and a pouty face her mood changes.  She mumbles an incantation (clumsy) and then proceeds to stand up.

Make sure the wine is slightly chilled, she said a bit robust for Brie's normal nature.  I have some much needed business to attend to that has been quite...prolonged.

She looks to Kree.  Shall we?

  The Dwarf frowns a Bit,Lots of Mouths  ta feed from that contract, as well as the  Company's  cut....some folks don't  earn that in 6 month's time!

Lafisual nods in genuine appreciation for the payment.  "I will see you tomorrow then", he nods to Kree.  As folks stops to leave Lafisual remains for some moments.  Being relatively well rested at this point he contemplates staying here or perhaps visiting the temple as he is still trying to get a better feel for the divine in these lands.

Kr'wyn catches his pouch with coins. He counts them and is happy with the result as he was with the company only recently after a long absence. "This will keep me happy enough for some time, especially when I go along with the caravan-job tomorrow."

She then looks up to Brie.  May I? she asks and extends her hands out with one of the glasses.

Lafisual listens to the conversation between Justin and Krwyn and he considers it for a moment. I'm not sure this is the best option for me right now and I did already tell Kree I would see him in the morning.  I do wish you the absolute best of luck, Lafisual adds sincerely as he was truly tempted by the idea.

Lafisual heads back to his room for more meditation and when he time comes he heads down and meets Kree at the designated time and place.

Kr'wyn takes some time to head out and tell Kree his decision to join the new team in stead of coming with him. After that, he joins the fledgling team inside again.

After the others had made their decision, considered the situation calculating that a team of two would have 20% chance of survival and success ooc One 5%, two 20%, three 45%, four 80%, accepting would double the teams chance of success. It would be against her calling to allow followers to take such a risk, Her cousins team had at least Nine in it which was more than sufficient to undertake any assignment so Myaranda chose to agree to the Rollers proposal.

Riku was elated at the compliment and the glow on her face showed.

I may just flitter between both groups and Reedrick.  Relaying what information is needed.  Being a messenger is much easier.  Thank you Master Kree for the divine compliment.

With that she flittered to the wizard shop and the Inn to stock up on her supplies.

Haildas stands up from the seat he'd taken to the side and begins to slowly walk up to the table that Justin and his compatriots were occupying.  He had left the Arena in persist of the triumphant cleric but was unable to locate him.  With no immediate plans he entered the first place he could find for some food and drink.  He had been listening to the small groups discussion and found himself drawn; by either drink or curiosity he knew not.

"Excuse me gentlemen, I happened to overhear your conversation and was hoping that I may sit with you.  My name is Haildas...a man of the cloth, if you will."

 The Dwarf looks  at the New fellow,Well, before ya get too nosey an' all... This is the  Ironmound home of the Crimson Arrows... we are a merc  company, but  we also hunt slavers fer  fun and profit...  he laughs  a bit  at that last line.

 ..Ifin ya want ta be an Arrow?  You'll have  to ask this  fellow who just broke of  from  his unit.... or ya can catch the Captain as he head s to the  gates.... either way? It ain't no easy Job, I'm about to look through the request we have fer this  fella's ....new  unit... The CAptain is on his way  to escort a caravan, and do some hunting...

Joining the others Justin takes the lead as the team wind their way out of Ironmound, heading for Bowshot, Justin sets a pace that will allow them to reach the Satellite City hopefully before sunset.

Myranda keeps pace that the Roller had set. As they travel she'll provide Haildas with an overview of the practices used by the Arrows.

Treaking along the group appears to be making good time. Justin's pleased that Myranda is instructing Haildas in operational procedures.

Kr'wyn walks silently along, listening to the instructions Myranda gives Haildas. He is curious for any changes in procedures since he was with Kree last time.

Justin watched the fellow head out, then considered how the Carn behaved.
Master Reedrick, mayhap the Arrows in his team be desirous of transferring to another unit operating in the same Area. If so wouldst Thee hat the specifics of their members anst where they may be found at this time.

 Reedrick  frowns, then takes   a spoon full of stew...not usre, LAd. That one there.. has  people who follow him,  Just like Kree. They wouldn't leave  him..'less there was a  good reason. Arrows   are  Loyal, fer the most part. I know he left   here  with 6..came back with 4 and two of them is  new.

 ..everyone losses  folks.. it part of the Job when  yu'er tryin' ta get point ends of things intom people who are trying to get pointy ends of things, inta you... But Orila  might lose..one every other month or so.. Malog losses more...but then he huns  down Cat-folk villages  and attacks them..so.. he's luck he dunna lose more.
