Re: THE WALK THE PLANK

Reedrick  leans  forward   as he   Pours  another Mug  of  Ale then signals to one or the waitresses foe  another.

The Waitress. Mara... leans over, her  Bodice barely contained   by a small ruby Arrow  pin... and leaves   for another  fresh pitcher.

..when the Arrows  first started...  that would have been a Nay..and one that was   given, not allowing fer  agruement.. But since the Elf took over.. we do what needs to be done.. to eliminate those who need ta be gone..

He Motions    with his head   as he takes  a deep pull on his ale,..that one there.. would not   neven be permitted in  The Black Timber, but her  and her  small clan  have aided us..time and again.... The elf?  he'll do any  bloody thing he nees to get information, ifin it will save good folks.... and he  ain't  above using   Cat-folk and the like, fer serpent  bait, if it  will get folks ta  talk... so?.. I'm thinking a bit of Poison ain't gonna bother him none... thought we  do have a few folks who are closer to thier gods then most..

Re: THE WALK THE PLANK

Welcome Master Grimalkin. Justin greeted when opportunity presented itself In answer to Thy question; if such be truly needed. However such doth beg the question of why's anst wherefores’. Ast the Crimsons goal be to render assistance to the Needy anst combat Slavery it be necessary to be seen thusly. If it be required to take a prisoner for questioning about others of their Elk such use be of little value anst may hamper the capture. May one ask if Thee one of the Shadows Fraternity; ooc Assassin or be Thy usage stem from Racial or Personal Preference?

"And you say that this head vampire is part of this treaty?  Fascinating, I have never known one to be, shall we say, accommodating to the living.  Tell me, does anyone have interactions with him or his kind still?  How is it that they continue to survive without incurring the wrath of some local municipality?

Re: THE WALK THE PLANK

There is  another   Sip of the Mug,  and the  soft voice  continues,...one  must understand..not all things  are the  same in these lands...as  elsewhere...It is  said, the  start of the  Night Folk was  a band  of clerics  who sought  to live forever.. thus  serving they gods  and becoming legends in thier  Temples...

..of course?   As most times..the Fools  failed to relaize the Gods of  Death  do  not like being cheated. So they cursed them with the Hunger ... the need  for blood...never being able to sire   or have children..with  Death the only escape...

..the Clerics  of the Darker Gods.. relished this... and   Broke away from the cadre .. fleeing to lands   beyond the Mists... or , simply  around Laynak and her  world. It is rumored , the greatest of the Night  Folk in the Lands  Beyond the Mists...were once  these   same  Clerics...

..I know ..not... the full story.  But the Leader of  our  Group..Baron. Was  truned when  the  Night Folks that was feeding on him was killed during an Ill fated  rescue. He begam a  Night Folk and had to flee his own  rescuers... he  began to Build his own Clan, near Mouri when Holy warriros  were sent to destoyr our  kind... he fled  further  south    esat   to the swamps.. there they had to feed on  ..whatever they could catch... pirates...slavers..orcs, Golbins , kobolds, even Gremlins and animals.....That is when the slavers  found them, killed most of them..and began to use them as a tool..until the Arrrows  arrived, doing thier  sweep.

she sighs.. a soft sad  sigh....Baron  feels....shackled  by the treaty.. Night Folk are preditors...we hide now.. in some areas around these lands.. we  prey on whatever   we can find, that does not violate the treaty...should some one attack? We are given  free rein to  feed ... as would anyone ....But?  Until the Captain  dies?.. Baron fears to break the treay elsewise...

In reply to Haildas (msg # 395):

Mistress Nara, One wouldst presume the Captain Kree anst Thy Baron's agreement be with the Arrows nay just the Captain. If Thee be of the opinion this be not the case it wouldst be detrimental to both Thy clan anst the Arrows as it may be at the time, for Thee be Ageless anst the Captain Mortal. Howeverth whenst it comes time for the Captains Passing through the natural order of events T'will be for others to concern themselves with ast with Eta's will this be hundereds of years from now.

Re: THE WALK THE PLANK

Nara gives a subtle  shrug,..one  does not weigh one's life..on the way another might  react. There is only that time of Telling..Thus far.. we expect Arrows to honor the  treaty... it is only that we saw Carn, that the treaty is not shattered.

there is a graceful hand   flicking  towards the windows,..you have  But look at the City... The Elves  or trace and Black Timber were treated  us unwanted allies..well the  Ironwood elves  traded their Precious  Ironwood trees....  The Black Timber was  almost put  so siege, until the  Trace Wood  elves and the High Peak Dwarves stood with them.. The Black Timber   Elves did much, for  the Empire... and right now, the  Highpeak Dwarves and Trace elves  are like Kin to them....But  an elf   enters the  city, it is not  hard to find  folk who loom down on them...Even worse.. when  The Captain left his post in the palace, because of  the undercurrents there..

..Arrows  suffer the  same... regardless of the good the Arrpws  do...have  done... there is always some one who hate them....YOu will find that out  , if you walk the streets enough..

Looking up at the young mane in plate armor, "Both actually, I was raised as a slave to those who used poison liberally even against their own. As a trained assassin poison is just another tool of the trade. Though I rarely use anything stronger than a sleeping agent or paralytic, it is difficult to extract information from a dead man."

Re: THE WALK THE PLANK

Nara's  soft Voice answers,.... we have records?  Linage and  such. Most are kept in the Sages  Guild. every month or so... a messenger is  sent to deliver  Updates.....Most towns and Villages  have  something to record  what , and who is in thier   area....the families...heroes... villains... laws, what have you.... Night Folk do not have Villages..at least.. not in the Empire.... we are like Nomads... several hidey holes we move to  when its  time.

adds, scornfully,..They say,, it the north of HArgen's lands, there is  a Citym ruined, over grown..The HArgen King gave that to Night folk,  for aiding him in taking his throne.... they say... many  night  folk from these lands   travel there.. to have a Home Land of sorts... they  are  allowed to  'patrol' thier lands  for tresspassers... and they have  a small hnadfull of ships  to sail the seals  at night.. to take   priosners from any ship they meet.. even the Red  Elves..This.... to me..if  folly. Sooner or later there will be too many Night folk..and they will wish to spread...HArgen's Kingdom could  be in a bad  way...and they would recieve no help from the Empire...execpt, for the Empire  to sent a bounty on any night folk..to try and  hut them out of  existance .

The more she spoke the more Haildas was intrigued and drawn in.  The allure of this new magic was simply too much for him to resist.  He had to know more about these people, their 'curse' and its' origins.

"Not sure my experience would be of much benefit. I was born into slavery as the son of my human mother and a Drow Qu’el’Faruk or House Mage in the common tongue. He was an extremely devious and brutal master. He lived maybe a week or so once his dalliance was discovered. Drow tend to make slaves of any race they capture. That or sacrifice them to their goddess in one vile way or another. If ridding your lands of slavery is one of your missions you can definitely count me an ally."
Taking a another spoon of stew followed by a drink Grimalkin continued, "I have to admit I have seen no evidence of the Drow since arriving in this land and the even the elves and other nonhuman races seem far different."

Haildas nearly jumped from his seat as she spoke.  He was becoming visibly anxious as the thought of being once more in the presence of great magic jarred his soul.

"Would it then be possible to arrange such a meeting through you?  I can attest that my interests are purely academic. I bear no ill will towards your kind."
