Justin walked alongside the others musing as he went "Be there a way to get to Tental by boat" he enquired as they approached Sir Matten of Harte and the youths.

Re:  HEADING OUT...SEEING A BIT OF  IRONMOUND>

To get  to the Viollage, we  will have to use the river  ferry to the  South  of Bowshot, then travel  trough some of the plains  as  we approach the Black Timber  Forest...to go the  the pirate camp..or  at least were it  was...we needs go north and  follow the  bank on our  side of the river  to the west...

Justain rubbed his chin considering at the elves reply "Doth Thee think it be quicker if we deal with yon Pirates, thus seizing their vessel and heading unto Tental or going directly to his aid?"

Re:  HEADING OUT...SEEING A BIT OF  IRONMOUND>

The  elf  thinks  a bit  as he says, should  we  capture one of thier vessels, would  could  sail uip Tou River . The  City of  Tou and Lake  Tou are  surrounded  by the arms  of the Black Timber...but,,by that time, he may not need us any longer. If  we go to Tental..the Pirates  may move on , unless they have  found a good hunting spot, and do not  fear troopers...As for Tental? he grins  a bit,..I am thinking, his call for aid, is more for sport  then need...

"One hath a preference for dealing with yon Pirates first, ast they be closer. Such endeavours doth aid both the Red Arrows, by way of reputation, andst the Kingdom by assisting the Army and Navy to reduce the Pirates capabilities" he grins.

In reply to Justin (msg #54):

Gerrad nods, pondering aloud.

I agree, if nothing else it may allow us to secure a vessel for later use. And of course, our reputation. Is there a way to scout the river bank from the ferry?

Re:  HEADING OUT...SEEING A BIT OF  IRONMOUND>

with a shake of his  head, Kree says,Nay..the ferry is  pulled  across with sweeps, a large rope is attached to help pull it  back..Thus..if a larger ship sials up, they can stop the ferry so the Larger ship does not have to wait.. At best, we  might  be  able to see  down river, as  far  as the eye can see..but I must assume  the  Pirates  would  not  be within sight of the ferry, or its operators."

Re:  HEADING OUT...SEEING A BIT OF  IRONMOUND>

"If it's pirates we're after, then we need to get on board a boat and when they attack, we can put them down."  It obvious that attacking pirates, if they aren't of the cat folk, holds about as much interest for Rolf as building a reputation.  As long as they kept their distance, Rolf didn't care what the locals thought of him.

"That's the issue with Pirates ain't it. They move, attack and move again. If you go where they where then you you only find what they've done. If you go where they strike next, then you get to catch them in the act. If Anyone knows where they might go next I'll happily help, If not, I am sure the Catfolk will be easier to find." Merik adds to the conversation, his features seem calm and relaxed, his voice has just a hint of humor to it.

Re:  HEADING OUT...SEEING A BIT OF  IRONMOUND>

Kree shook his head  once more, don't  think they spread the  word. they were  on patrol and got  waxed. Tental's  people must of either helped them out, or  ran into them shortly after, that would explain the note....It would depend  how  cocky they are..but the Swamps   are full of  Pirates  and  orcs  and such...and  Olant is not  far  down river  from the swamps...."

"Crest to the Kitties, Bust to the Brigands then. Praise Eta for Thy guidance..." Flicking the coin into the air. He intently watches it spin and fall, catching it waist height and slapping it onto the back of his other gauntlets with a clank, removing his hand to reveal... Crest

With a laugh Merik adds <Blue>"Sometimes luck gives the best options. On a battlefield, I'd rather be lucky and unskilled then skilled and unlucky."</Blue> He watches the coin flip in the air wondering what ways its going to fall.

Re:  HEADING OUT...SEEING A BIT OF  IRONMOUND>

the  sun begins  to work its  way behind  the  trees of  the Black Timber, some miles away. The  Village of  Bowshot is easier to see now, even in the fading  light.

There is  a Palisade  around the town, the  main Gates  stand open with a squad  of troopers milling  about . On the parapits  are archers and  in the  Towers are mounted heavy Crossbows. Each tower has a person  peering   about  with a Seaman's Telescope.

A Ring of  Large posts stand around  the  walls, a good 30 yards  out. a group  of  people are Lighting Brazers that sit  atop these posts  eluminating the area  around  the town. Though they are a good 500 yards   or better away...the group can hear a shout  and several of  the Gate  guards  ready themsleves  for  the Group's  approach. A small wagon  has  come  from the North and stopped at the  gate, while the guards speak with the  driver, and two more guards inspect the wagon..............
