The CAptain of the guard, was about ready to  head home for the day. He waves in the  direction  of  'down river' and says.

..Some of the patch houses have had trouble ... your 2 friends went on ahead to try and  fine the  person..or persons  who put up the bounty

Myranda took stock of every item she had surrendered to the guard, examining each for damage and checking everything was returned.

ooc assuming they all are as they were when she had them handed over.

When satisfied she donned her armor, slipped her tabard over it and ensured her other equipment and possessions, were placed appropriately she headed to the Bears Claw.

Thanking the Captain, Justin bid him a pleasant night then made his way to the Bears Claw.  Spotting Myranda just entering the Inn he followed suit, once inside Justin located the Innkeeper, greating them in a familiarly friendly manner, and enquired about lodging.

Re: Bowshot

Javal noted how people getting off the ferry went their different ways.  He knew he would have to get a room for the night.  A good nights rest was important after being on a boat and then ferry for days. Heading to the Bears Claw he looked to get a room for the night.

Myranda scans the room for an empty table, spotting one she makes her way over to it. Once settled facing the other occupants and waiting. Just as she's seated she spots the roller enter the Inn and cross to the bar.

The night is  a hidden welcome  for Inn keepers, folks who stopped in ,on the way home from work, would stay longer  , until the storm passed.

There was a younger  Lad  with a 3 strng, plunking away singing songs of love, or adventure, depending on who was tossing in the coins, The Bar keep made sure he had a full glass of  wine near him, Most folks were locals, all there were some travelers, or merchant guards....

As the evening comes close, Kr'wyn makes himself ready for a patrol around the patch of houses. "Do you join me, Haildas? And perhaps young Gring as well to show us the hidden spots around?" If Gring doesn't have a decent weapon, Kr'wyn lends him one of his daggers. To the boy he says: "If anything dangerous would show up, I wish you to return to the house immediately and lock all doors and windows. You'll hear and recognize us when we show up later. Leave the heroisme to us; you have to report to our companions if something would go amiss."

The darkness is  only  broken . but the  cloud to cloud lighting, Gring points  down further  south west,..there are  three houses  there..only two of them have people..next patch isn't  for  some  10 miles or more..

"Yes, it is much preferable to travel in numbers.  The storm means no torches so while we will have the advantage of not giving away our positions, the same will apply to anything lying in wait.

Gring pulled his meager  clothes around him as the  rain  drenched  them with in  a few  yards of the cottage.

You folks will have to tell me where you want to go..The  spot  where  they said the  saw the stuff is  about a Mile  down.... if  we go close to the shore.. the trees  will help us a bit...but...the creatures will be out now, that its  dark?

"Hmmm...I'm not exactly certain if we should venture towards the river during such a storm or simply do a patrol around the houses.  We may find exactly what we're looking for by the river...but that could also be a problem in and of itself."

Javal approached the table with the elven female as she ate her breakfast.  She had the look of a seasoned adventurer and may know of some work.

"Excuse me, my name is Javal and I am fresh off the boat and seeking work.  Do you know of any work going on?"

Without pausing Myranda popped a spoon of food into her mouth as she eyed the fellow standing nearby, chewing as she considered the statement. There's always work for those who are willing to seek it.

I'm Myranda of the Glen. She introduces, pushing a chair leg with her foot inviting him to take a seat. There are quite a few Mercenary companies who are always in need of replacements. Would you consider that as an option.

Re: Bowshot

"Thanks" He takes a seat and turns it slightly, where Myranda is to one side of him and his back is to the wall.

"I've done mercenary work, but prefer not to.  As long as the employer is not corrupt?  When an employer is a rapist and pedophile my trigger finger gets real itchy.  Then I have to disappear." He chuckled again, this time trying to lighten the mood.

Javal keeps his hood up and it is obvious to Myranda that he is a half drow.  A squared jaw with dark stubble speak of human, but his pointed ears, grayish skin and red eyes say differently.

True there are companies which work hard in those areas, whilst there are others who seriously oppose them. There's a roller staying here, named Justin Havslain he's part of a company that is against slavery and the like. He'll should be showing up pretty soon.

"Hmmm, that roller sounds exactly like the one I'm looking for.  Killing slavers sounds good to me.  Are you here to speak to the roller also?"

Javal's  motioned for one of the serving waif's attention.

"Good morning. I'll have black coffee and porridge." Reaching in one of his pouches he produced 3 copper coins and handed them to her.

Javal frowns at her words and lets out a exhail.

"I agree with my gut feeling usually. Is this boss a shifty eyed weasel or too good to be true silver tongue?  Are we to get a couple days ride in the woods and everyone offered spiced rum with the evening meal only to wake up in chains?  One can only hope they are truly anti slaver.  It begs the question though.  What's the survival rate if they always are recruiting?"

Myranda gives a chuckle If he was the type that went into that sort of stuff they wouldn't be around long... Considering their association. As far as survival goes I'd say its more a matter of how good you'd be at your job. Myranda informs.
