Re: Bowshot

Completing his morning devotions Justin made his way to the common room for a morning meal. Spotting Myranda seated at a table with another figure he strolls over Good Morrow Mistress Myranda, One trusts Thy night was restful. Justin gives her a friendly smile, and nods to the Cloaked figure Good Morrow Sir.

Glancing in his direction Myranda raised a spoon in greeting. Morning Justin. Popping the gruel into her mouth and swallowing she chined in the Drow's direction. This her's Javal, he's looking for work, I've suggested you'd be one to talk to in that regard.

Re: Bowshot

As Justin approached Javal tensed for a moment like a coiled spring.  It was at his greeting though that he eased up.  Then Myranda introduced him.

So this was the Justin.

Standing up, Javal extended a hand.

"Javal Enrouse, and you must be Justin Havslain?  Myranda mentioned you were a man looking to hire mercenaries and go against slavers?  If so I would be interested."

As most introductions involving business, Javal kept is simple and to the point.

Re: Bowshot

Javal had taken shaken Justin's hand and sat down.  Listening closely to his words, he nodded quietly as he waited.

"Well both of those things are right up my alley.  I loathe slavers and killing people is my specialty actually.  In the past I worked by contract and for guilds and institutions.  I was paid by the job."

He looked as if he was about to continue, but paused as he raised his cup up and had the serving waif fill it back up with coffee from the pot.   "Thank you."  After she stepped away he continued.

"This though peaks my interest.  It's not about the job; it's about the principle.  So if I go to work with you all I would be able to free the people the slavers had?  That is what you all do right?"

Re: Bowshot

Javal once again decided to keep it simple.  Everything he heard sounded good.

"I'm in.  Joining up sounds good to me.  So now I have to talk to Kree?"

Eating his food, he listened to Justin.

Re: Bowshot

Javal picked a pin that looked slightly blemished and would not reflect light.  He shook hands with Justin and unclasped the pin.

Putting it on his left collar, he looked at Myranda.

"I hope you join.  Let's kill some slavers and free some people."

Re: Bowshot

Javal brightned up and was grinning ear to ear.

"GOOD!  I'm glad that your coming.  I will need you and Justin to show me the ropes with this.  Used to being a solo act.  But I do look forward to working with you all."

Taking a drink of his coffee, Javal started to scarf up his meal.  He knew this may be one of the last hot meals he would have for a while.

Before they finished up, he spoke up again.

"I need to talk to the owner here and get a couple things, then I will be ready to go. Excuse me for a moment."

Standing up, Javal made his way over to the tavern owner.

"I have some good coin to spend and need a few things from your kitchen.  Pepper, salt, a couple spices, and come coffee.  Does that sound alright to you?"

Dropping two gold on the counter, he smiled at the tavern owner and kept his fingers on the coins as he slid them near.  Waiting for a sign of yes from the owner was what he was doing.

After a moment, he went to the kitchen if there was no argument.  Collecting what he had mentioned, he stepped back over to Justin and Myranda.

"I'm good to go when you two are."

Re: Bowshot

"Sure, one second."

Quickly taking off his backpack, Myranda and Justin noticed it was longer than average and slimmer than normal.  Contoured more toward his body to give him a slimmer profile.  On the exterior he had fifty foot of silk rope, a pot, and bedroll rolled up tightly.  The interior as he opened it was mostly barren, aside from a large water skin and three iron rations.  Moving the food from the hessian sack inside the backpack he then rolled the sack up and used it for padding to keep the food from moving around.

"Ready.  I need my hands free, and the last thing I need is to drop the bag of food to get access to my bow or to climb."

Ready to start, he waited for the other two to lead on.

"Where are we heading now?  Meeting up with others or tracking some slavers?"

Myranda looked coldly at Justin. What I learnt from that situation is to disregard any slight or derisive comment directed at you, irrespective of the source and veracity. So if anyone calls you a thrice daily to Cran, Gorr, Kar and Oge, I'll ignore it.
