In reply to Dain Stoneshoulder (msg # 507):

Justin gives a slight bow to Dain as he accepts the weapon with both hands he holds it before himself slowly revolving it horizontally and scrutinizing its entire surface. Once his exterior examination was completed he swiftly positioned moved one hand underneath using the other to steady the weapon as he moved the first along its length until he found its pivotal axis. Measuring this distance from both ends to establish its optimal point of balance. Justin then gripped the end of the Maul firmly with one hand holding it out from himself to assess its reach lifting the Maul up straight above his head he brought it quickly downward to determine its usability, bringing it to a rapid stop in the horizontal position it started from. Justin then swung it in an arch to his left then to the right repeating this procedure several times before lowering its end towards the ground. Changing hands he repeated the process with his left hand. Once this routine ended he rested the maul on both palms and held it out to Dain. Thankest Thee Master Dain yon be a well crafted and effective weapon

Jason admires the maul along with Justin. "I like to hammer things as well, though I left mine with my horse. It's terribly inadequate to your weapon, of course."

The inn looked fine, but Jason's back was broken by years of sleeping on the ground. "Thank you ma'am, but all I need is a safe place and food for my horse and I'll be happy."

Dain made his way to the inn for a room for the night. He showed his letter for the captain to show he had business with the arrows, and paid his silver piece for the night. He went up and made himself to home in his room, taking his armor off and getting into the bed for the night.

Jason tipped Martha two coppers and bade the others good night.

He led his horse around the square to the inn's stables. Seeing that there was no attendant, he helped himself to a corral. He quickly went through the steps of unsaddling Leonidas and fetching him fresh food and water.

It is pleasing to know you will not be overlooked and you can seek aid from others, if you find yourself in dire straits. Myranda replied before the woman responded to others and went about her work. Myranda retired for the night and in the early hours visited the shrine to the Sisters to pray and converse with any who wished.

Khorvar noticed the new arrivals and for a moment thought he recognized the dwarf, but passed it off as not a possibility. He kept his eyes on them for the time being, but after a bit went back to his ale and food enjoying the music.

Khorvar later found a place to put his back against and got some sleep. He woke as he heard the noise of the village as it woke. He splashed some water on his face and went thru his morning katas. Once he was loosed up and finished he went in search of food. He asked the first villager he found.

Re: Razorhawk Village, home of The Arrows

Dain lay awake for a half hour before dawn, but got up with the first crack of light in his room. He stretched and washed his face and hands to get the sleep out of his eyes and then got dressed. Donning his armor over his clothes in the strange place, figuring not to need to, but doing it out of habit, he went down to break his fast and to finally meet captain Kree.

When he got downstairs, he asked, "Where can a dwarf find some breakfast around here? I have a powerful hunger this morning!" he declares.

Re: Razorhawk Village, home of The Arrows

Stardancer awoke hearing the birds beginning to sing as sun up approached.  Sge began her morning by finding a watertrough near the cabin.  Looking and listening first she figured she was safe from prying eyes.  She began bathing so as to not smell so much of 'horse'.  Soon she then began brushinher hair, tail, and even fetlocks.  Freeing herself of bothersome burrs, tangles and mats.  Refilling the trough she then went and gathed her gear and dressed for the day. She put a braid mid center in her hair and lastly added her black feathers to it.  By now she was hungry again.  She wondered if a vendor or keeper had fresh herbed bread maybe some cheese and fish along with fruit.  She hoped they did as she made her way to the village center.

Re: Razorhawk Village, home of The Arrows

Hoofprints and a bit of mud spoke of her headed to the village, not too long ago.
In the village proper she found a few stallmen selling food.  The fresh baked bread greated her first.  She made her way there first to buy a small loaf and fresh butter for it as well.  Another had fruit and soft cheese as well. A couple of wedges, a small bag of apples and a string of grape.  All of this and a bottle with sweet fruited juice for several coppers between the vendors was a banquet.  Seeing Justin she nodded and offed some of her bounty, then to Kree as she moved about.  Her ears twitched a bit as she heard the horses in the corral and stable.  "Good morning Justin, Kree.  It is a lovely day today is it not?" she smiled and ate part of the sandwich of butter and cheese.  After a moment so as to not be rude and spit food as she spoke.  "there seems to be a new stallion in the paddock.  the others talk about it.  I figured I would go see and offer them all a treat" she hefted tje apple bag easily. "I shall see you allin a bit and leave you to your prayers and  search for a morning drink"  With that she made her way to the bard area of the corral.  In the togue of equines she greeted those there including a new one.  At the door a portion of her more horse part protruded, as her human half was within the shadowy confines of the stables.  She greeted them all and an apple each plus one for herself she asked of thier night and the new one who seemed young, but pretty smart.

Re: Razorhawk Village, home of The Arrows

Horses speaking to each other startled him awake. Jason slept well past the appropriate term for early, and was lucky not to be discovered by any stable hands. Pulling his shirt from off his head he squinted against the morning sunlight.

Even the hay bails were too soft for him, and so he had slept on a dry patch of earth in Leonidas' stall. Though he had stolen the war horse only six months ago, the stallion had accepted him as his new master and kindly didn't trample him, or worse, piss on him.

As Leonidas whinnied in reply to Stardancer Jason caught first glimpse of her, the sun streaking through her blonde hair. Of course, all he saw was the woman part.

He quickly leaped to his feet, his mouth opened to say "Good morning" when he saw the rest and his mouth just hung there opened.

She looked in the stall at the warhorse  "You said he was asleep" she smiled and shook a finger.  "Good morning.  Why did you sleep here and not in the inn?" her head tiled a bit. She did move back a step incase he turned unfriendly.
