..now?.. before  I must   tell  Three  people what its  like to operate outside the Froest...when they have never had to do that?...  Tell me how you ended  up  on  the shores of Laynak?

Jason liked Stardancer, she was bright and beautiful and exotic, what was not to like? "Well then by all means, perhaps you would be so kind as to introduce Captain Kree to me? Or perhaps introduce me to him? No, I think what you know of me is not very impressive at all."

He fiddled with his gear and put the armor back on where it belonged.

She smiled, not truly sure how to interpret the statement.  "Of course If you want to follow me to the market area, that is where I last saw him.  He may still be there" she backed up a bit to gain an area to turn about in.  At about 7 ft tall it was not like she blended in well.  As she backed up it was more evident to the weapons she sported.  She would wait for him to join her outside the stables before leading him to the market area.  being taller gave her a better advantage and she easily spotted Kree.  "There he is.  Over there at the table"

In reply to Orlin lion soul (msg # 553):

Lucy steps back, totally embarrassed.

"Yeah, I did.  From time to time the cat side likes to come out and play." She says.

Clearly, if she could have turned a shade of red, she would have.

"There's four rats and what passes as a decent size racoon that can testify to what happened last night.  Now, I couldn't tell you what happened.  Last thing I remember was walking to the inn, ready to go to sleep.  I woke up this morning in a small field, with four rats and a racoon dead beside, me butt naked." She said.

"Thanks Orlin." She said.

Jason followed, acknowledging any of the others in the area until he arrived before Captain Kree.

"Captain! Jason Penny, at your service. I am formerly of the Black Arrows under Captain Young, he sends you his regards and hopes I prove useful to your cause. As for me personally, I wouldn't mind a few days off."

The Elf  turned his head to Greet Jason.  Kree's  eyes studied him  for a Moment  while  he  took a bite....... Hay has the  devil of a  time  comign off  clothing, even should  one   get the  straw.. the bits of  seed and such  cling like a beacon, to tell those   who care to look..where you have been..

Wiping his hand   with a cloth  snatched from a wench who was cleaning   the table s as folks  got up and moved on.

..then you will be  replacing that lump of  coal  with   this..... As the rule goes... worn in plain sight...  he takes a  Pin out of the  box, this one  had a chip of  ruby  in the  head and  feathers, and sliver for the shaft.

..Its  clear what YOur   skill set is.. but what are  your  skills  when  we sail.. or travel the greasslands...or?..as  our Journy will take us to Trace? what your woodcraft skills  are..

he  makes  a  wave to the Arrows   around themall of us, are able to function  , most everywhere.. though a Sare  sir, Good  Justion  and  Goood Luthien, my fair  less well, in swimmign should  our ship sink.

He accepted the pin, feeling the honor course through his veins, and a bit of hesitation as well. "Thank you."

Jason shrugged. "Wasn't told we were sailing, but whatever floats your boat, Sir!" He gave a slight salute and a giant grin. He figured the captain was a hard-ass and was not disappointed. He straightened up as best he could, his back forcing a bent posture, and tried to be respectful.

"I'm afraid I may begrudge you, Captain Kree. Captain Young trades me to you over our disputes over appropriate times to kill. He did not agree with my attitude toward slavers, that torture was mandatory while he permitted merciful death. He told me I would fit in better with you. It is an honor, sir."

Kree   smiled  a bit of a chuckle as he  did , finishing  his Kaffe...That...Mr  Penny..Is  my we are   'The Crimson Arrows'.. it started  as a Jest. by  my Father, because    my early   years involved  ...very little.. prisoner taking, and  the  Motto of  'no live enemies  left behind you'... he  quipped  something about   the Black Arrows  have  truned Crimson.. and..here  we  are..

..Though , the  aforementioned    Justin and Luthien, tend to try to  keep as  from the over  indulgence of  our sport of vengeance  and such..

he Rises  with a  Bit  Of  disgust of  his  face,  Giving the cloth a soft toss to the woman he  lifted it form,..I will return..I must speak to the Elder, so them may pretend they know what is going on...We have the rest of  this  day, to rest..relax  and  get gear.. then we  travel back up to  the  Lather River  for a  bit of a  boat ride.

"Thank you, Captain. I'll take your leave, then." Jason bowed slightly.

He waved "thank you" to Stardancer and returned to where she left him. "That went well. And it seems we have the rest of the day to ourselves. I take it you have eaten? I have not." He turned and spotted Dain and Justin who he had met last night and waved at them.

In reply to Lucy (msg # 562):

Firbolgs are a recluse and...testy people, but they are actually good to those in the comunity even if we don't always play well with others.  Us shamen are trained to smooth over the wrinkles between individuels and groups, so I didn't want misunderstandings involving an honored member of my comunity."  Garrat gives Lucy a slight bow to indicate he was talking about her.  "Do not apologize for your wild heart little one.  I have seen it in your eyes on the battle feild and I dare say we be needin it.  I'm proud to fight alongside what you are and would miss it if you...adapted to be more humanlike.  Choosing a time to let the critter out probably gives you more control over it's abilities and I imagine fresh meat and a night of hunting is probably good for you as well."

Orlin gets up, "If the cat needs a place out of sight to come home to here, I have a place near the druids that may have some extra room.  The druids of the area may even be able to help you understand the balance within yourself, and become conciosly in conection with your ferel side,"

Orlin knows he has given more than an uncomfortable amount of attention to the subject but firbolgs are a blunt lot.  Still it is time to move on and hope his words have given her strength and excused the shame.  With a final nod he moves on.

Re: Razorhawk Village, home of The Arrows

walking   up to the  setas the elders  had   as they  broke thier morning fast.  Kree    aske d a server  gril for  a  Mug of cold  wine, and Sat down.

..so?... You feel you are  the Equal to teh Elders , that you may sit  with   out even a 'by your leave'

..this is no  formal setting?.. I see no  guards, heard no horns, No sages  attend us.. I must assume,  you folks are  here to  eat, and hear my report...since the footman did not  announce me   as  i entered  the 'great Hall'

The   Older Elf  of the three  smiled,Quite so..let us here the  report...

Krell stabbed   some  meet with his  fork. the Dwarven Elder took a deep drink from his  Mug.

Kree  went into   a detailed    report about  the  trip to  Mok to  find the Missing Arrows, he including everything, without  citing  any of  his thoughts  on the  Arrows  who were involved ...

My Unit   will be leaving   on the Morrow, to the   site that  the others   will be building at the  Black Timber , merchant Landing.. we  wil travel down   river to  the trace wood and   finish this  mission once and  for certain..

Krell   bit into a  roll as he said,..and...'Good Captain'..what if the Timber  needs you elsewhere?

..Then you need, only to send word  to Reedrick in Ironmoud.. for that is where we  we travel to  after the Trace Wood...

..we need  the Arrows  to seek something  in the  High Peaks...

Peerign over the Rim of his mug, Kree  said,..whatever is there?  will still be there.. if it is  of something  that is of Import, send  other Arrows.... But i do not  stop my missions, until   it is finished...

Krell slowly lowered his  fork,...and if  I was to order the Crimson Arrows  to  do this...

..Then, Father? I would laugh. Yu are  an Elder..But yo are a Warden...  The 1st Elder is  of the Mages.. the 2nd  Elder  is of then Fighters.. I see no  Elders here  for   Mercenaries... we have  our Rules....High Warden...we would be less then common sell swords, should we not  finish  the tasks we have signed up for...

Kree  put his empty mug down, look  a bit sad... a Maiden appeared  as if by magic  and refilled it... Kree smiled at her.

..now?  Good  Elders.. I will see to my people  and perhaps enjoy home for a bit....

The bother  two Elders  nodded to him... Krell said....so?  you would  put this  'code of Honor' ahead of your Home and  your people...

Aye...High  Warden....there is no use protecting  the Trees, if the people  who live   within them, cannot feel safe...There is    no use trying to portect people, if yo let thier homes burn down around them.... so?.. I will seek out the traitors to the Arrows.. and they will die... The Arrows  wil be the stronger for it..and  then  we  can go for a hike in the Mountains..but?.. if it is realy urgent..perhaps  you would e3nd some wardens.. I Have heard the Wardens number close to  300?... only the Gods know  how many Timberhome has..then you add to that the  Druids  and rangers..but.. I am Merely a sell sword  CAptain.. what do i know  about the inner  workings  of the  Great Black Timber...

Kree walked  towards  'his' people  with his fresh Mug of  Wine.

The High MAge looked at   Krell,..you should not  joust with    your son... he has chosen a path..and that path has   brought, no small amout  of   glory to the Black Timber.

..if he and his cousin had been here when....

The  High Fighter  snorted,..they'd  a  died  next ta yer    wife... an' there would have been none to  gain the vengeance  they done.... It may have been  messy, an' that's me sayin'... but  ain't no one will try to bring a whole salver  group in again..an' them's that do.. fine its a quick way ta meet thier gods..

In reply to Village (msg # 577):

Luthien...has his own peace to add.

"The Knightly Orders have had the rule for ages...your word is your bond. If you promise to do a thing, you need to follow through with it. The orders have that rule for two reasons...one, it's the right thing to do...but two, it also makes those who keep their word easier to trust. Most of the Chivalric Codes have building trust and respect at the bottom of it somewhere, then doing what is necessary to maintain the trust and respect earned. With this in mind, I would request you not ask the Commander...or anyone else for that matter...to break their word once it is given.

It is...not about any race or creed, but about the ties of faith that bind all good beings. No one wins when those ties are damaged.

Jason thanks Justin and listens in on the conversations while helping himself to the breakfast of champions.

“Justin, correct? We met last night, right?” Jason was so exhausted that the mere three pints at the table had shook his memory. He had thought Justin was too skinny for how tall he was, and all the armor he wore, thankfully he hasn’t said anything he couldn’t take back.

“You seem like the righteous knight type of man, much like this Luthien, hmm?”

Re: Razorhawk Village, home of The Arrows

Krell  looks at Luthien,..'The CAptain" he spits  the words out,..and his  coursin went to frolic in the Human  City, while  his  Village was attacked.. his mother  killed and his  Sister  taken..even that damnable  Gnome who taught them the ways of the streets..died

The  2nd Elder..The High Fighter   spoke  as he chewed on a  chicken leg,They  came back.. they were the first to join the Balck Hunt... they were the First of the Arrows... they brought  heavy vengeance  down on those  who profited  from that attack..and many more   since..

The 3rd   Elder.. The High Warden looks at Luthien,..and  how  does  your  god look upon  the Great Captain? The Person who leaves  his   Forest to  travel about killing foes of  Men, who a few generations ago, tried to take our trees by force?
.......................

Kree Sat Down, Elven  sat across from him, greeting the other  Arrows,..Tell me Cousin... is  it you, or  Uncle , that gets the most satisfaction  from the butting of heads you do...

Ivy smiles  at the wench who  slides a plate of  eggs and ,what looks to be bacon.

..I would  say, It is   me.... I have naught to lose?... He is  an Elder..not  quite a good showing to have a  mere 'captain', do as he  wishes?

Ivy points his fork at the others,..and  now  , my friends, you leanr.. Kree  Comes  home to  spar with his father, and sleep in his own bed  for a day or so...

Ivy  Looked at Kree while he   chewed his  food, then shook his head,..naw.. its the sparing...

 Kree   just grins.
