Shattered Blade Inn Razorhawk Village

Kree, Drasius, Ivy, Rolf , Justin and Durzak enter the Inn. It  was one of the Bigger Inns the group has been in, nearly twice the  size of  'The Walk the Plank' in Ironmound.

The owner  was Elven  as were all the server grils. The people in the  inn where of  all races There was even three Blueskinned  Goblins, dressed in robes. and Oddly enough, most folks  greeted them or nodded in greeting. RAther then try to take the  ehads  from thier shoulders.

Kree stopped at a LOngtable near the fireplace, Two human locals where there  and Looked up at Kree for a moment then went back to talking, Kree said   in a quiet  tone,..we need this  table...now....

THe  YUOunge r fellow went to say something to  the elf, but his eyes  settled on the Arrow  pin...the two humans  got up and moved to  a smaller round  table  across the room. The server girls  came over, Kree asked that  two pots of stew, and Mugs of  ale  be brought over...as well as three bottles of  Elven Gold  wine...the grils  took off to gather the order.

Ivy shook his head, You did not need to chase the humans  away...there is another long  table  across the way...

With a shrug, Kree  put  his quiver  and pack on the back of  a chair  and  sat down. leaning hi  bow against the table,..I like this table...when either  of them , move past me on the Totem?  They can choose where they  want to sit...

In reply to donsr (msg #1):

Having fulfilled his contract and being paid, Duran first saw to his horse. When he was certain that the stable boy understood his instructions, the warrior made his way to the doors of the Shattered Blade.

Duran stood at the doorway for a moment, then quickly slipped inside. He stood by the entrance for a while allowing his eye sight to adjust the the lower light levels. The warrior took in the room before him. This place was very odd indeed, he smiled and greeted the slip of a girl who asked him what he'd have.

"Ale, Miss." he replied, "Please bring it to the table over there." he said pointing to the table where Kree was sitting. "And thank you." he said as an after thought.

Duran approached the table where the other adventurers sat. As he did one of the blue-skined goblins crossed his path. Without hesitation his left hand shot down to his short sword. He stopped in mid draw when he was greeted with a friendly "Hello, sir!" and a freindly yet toothy smile.

Duran seemed embarassed and quickly pushed the sword back down in its sheath. "Ummm..hello back." Duran replied. "Sorry about that." he said amazed the creature wasn't trying to kill him.

Finally reaching the table Duran greeted those sitting at the table. "Greetings and well met. I am Duran Owedoc." he said, breifly making eye contact with everyone seated at the table.

"I didn't mean to be eves dropping earlier." he said looking Kree in the eye. "Though in all fairness you weren't exactly trying to have a private conversation."

The blonde warrior didn't wait to be asked twice to be seated. He had been in the saddle for days and having a chair back for support felt great. Duran nodded his head as each introduction was made. His bow was slightly more pronounced when the elf lass was introduced to him. "A pleasure to meet you all!"

When the prospect of a job was brought up Duran nodded as he replied, "Aye, the contract I made with the merchants has run it's course, so yes I'm interested in a job." Duran took a long drink from his tankard of ale. "I assume we'd be hunting?" he asked.

Re:  Shattered Blade Inn Razorhawk Village

when the food  arrived, Kree motioned for the others to dig in, he fussed with a wine bottle  while he  waited  for the others to get thier food, and drank down one  Glass of the elven gold, in a gulp, then poured another, and sipped it as he helped himself, he motioned  for another Pot of stew  and  a few more loaves of the bread, the  servers Brought  some freshly churded  Butter out  as well.

Frist off, Good Duran. The Crimson Arrows are not just  a band of seel sowrds, ot  tunnel crawlers. We  do that, of  course, but our  main payh, is to eliminate  as many folksm who follow the darkness, as we can..Slavers and Bandits, and the damnable Red Isle  Halflings get speical attention, should be catch one. And  should be  find a Red Elf...well....Many a folk in the Village  would be glad, its  been a long time since a  Red Elf  has been..er...handled...in public...

We  are not here, to save the souls of those who walk the darkness...we  are here to send thier  soul  to thier  gods..and the more savage the means, the better. he points, not  only top the table, but  to the Inn, then out the door.These...are savage lands. And Evil does not  fear the good...it uses good's weaknesses against them...we..The Arrows..and   perhaps  another olld Company or two..treat the foes  as they treat the innocent...should are travels  take  us to a slaver camp?  we would burn  and Pillage the camp, as they have  our Village, and  the farmsteads of these lands....in short...we are the fire, that fights the fire...and thus?  we are feared  by those we hunt, and ...perhaps...even by some of  our allies...but  that is unimportant to us, as long as we keep whittling down the foes....

He takes  a bite  of stew and  dips  some  bread in the  gravel and  nibbles that down, then Looks at Duran, So?  Tell me Duran....Could  you be one of us?

When Kree had finished speaking Duran took another long draw from his ale. The warrior paused and looked around the table before returning his gaze to Kree's.
"It has been my experience that the world is more shades of gray. Light and dark exist it is true, but most people operate somewhere in the middle."

He paused to take another drink before continuing. "Bandits and slavers deserve what end they meet for the suffering they inflict on their victims. When they chose their profession they knew what they risked."

"Having never met or seen a Red Isle halfling or a Red Elf, I can not say for sure that they all walk the path of darkness. I would have swore it were true of our blueskined fellows over there." he said pointing at a passing goblin. "But apparently my belief was miss-informed hear-say."

"Yes friend Kree, I could ride with your company. But I kill a man or beast for my own reasons. And if I kill them it will be as swiftly and as efficiently as possible."

Kree listened to Duran and nodded, He reached inside his Tunic   and  withdrew a small metal pox, Opeing it, there were a number of  Rudy Arrows,Not all alike, but  it was plain that each and everyone, was  a Crimson arrow. Taking one  out, he tucked the box  back inside his tunic and slide the arrow  towards Duran. Then take  this pin, put it where it is easy to see. I will add your name to the charter, once  we are done here. Pay is 10 Gold per month, Plus what you make on bounties  and other jobs...The Company gets  a percanage too, to keep the group solid...

He looks over to the Blueskinned goblins  and chuckles, The Blueskinned  Goblins Hail from the  Highpeak Mountains..they are the swore enemies of  the Blackskinned goblins, who are allied to the Dark Dwarves and the  vairous Mountain creatures  we fight....truth be told...40 years  or so ago, we would have been hunting them as well..but treaties  are treaties..so they are now allies..

The Red Isle  Halflings are the ones who promote the slave trade, both as pirates and buyers of flesh...they have entered into  an alliance with the  Red Elves, who seek to take the  whole of the land of Laynak, and Thus far, only  Ironmound  and her alllies  have stood between them and thier goal..  Ivy added to Duran, for information.

Companies the size of  The Arrows are small in number, and for the most part, Most Companies are at ease with one another, save  for the companies that are head quatered in Olant, or  across the Moutains in the accursed city of Harte...the  insignas on this wall are those  Arrows  have baattled in the past...some were just mere groups of adveenture folk, who were on the wrong  side of a baattle... The Black Moon... he points to an armband on the board that is white  with a Black circle on it, They have  headquarters in Ironmound  as well..and they are near, as large as us..we fight them on sight...it is believed they are fed coin from Harte, but there is no proof as of yet....as a rule, if anyone  comes to blades with a Black Moon team? That is one of the reasons  they experiment in breeding with other races, hoping to create a breed that can gain the full use  of magic.

Duran listened to the breakdown given by Kree, and he found himself wondering why the Crimson Arrows were so interested in erradicating the cat-folk in the first place. He was sure someone would eventually come to that point but at the moment he let that question go unsaid.

"So we know a little bit about their species in general." the warrior said looking Kree's direction. "My question was more one of tactics. Surely you do not intend to go head long into a hunt without having any intel on their unit strength, numbers total, and their defensive capabilities?"

Then Duran looked to the others, "They may need a blade to the gut Rolf, but even goblins and orcs in suffuicent numbers and with rudimentary planning can ambush and kill a full company of trained soldiers if they are being careless."

"And no offense to Eta, Justin, but i'm not one for leaving things to chance if I can help it."

In fact. most of the prey we hunt are smart..The Red Elves amoung the smartest. But planning too soon, of things that may not  happen, can lead to yuou making  moves you may not  , otherwise do. Thus far? Our  losses have been light..save  for the pair of mages that were with us , when we were attacked  by the Gremblins.. Luthien heads to the inn...he wouldn't stay the night here, but he would wait for Kree to be 'done' with a lot of stuff he wouldn't approve of.

But he gets the idea forcing the issue on this man wouldn't work, so he has to change this organization from the inside.

So he waits at a table, having already eaten well.

Rayna had made her self comfortable at the bar though she hadn't ordered a thing yet. Her eyes moved from person to person, studying each man and woman in the room. She occasionally would stop and stare at Ivy who seemed to have his hands full with the maidens from before. She only sighed before looking to Luthien with a nod.

"I've known many men who thought themselves 'better lucky then good.' Still, it seems to be working for you. For myself, I trust my Lady's instincts ad skill."

And then, the Code.

"Many parts of the Code are personal. It doesn't affect a unit if I tithe, or use no more then 10 magic items, or so on. Where the problem is most likely to arise is when evil deeds are done in my presence. I won't be able to look the other way, either."

He has to let that sink in.

"This I can tell you, though. I am granted the ability to know when deeds are too far 'wrong.' And I sensed Darkness in you and your friend both when you went to torture the half ogre. I understand you wish to use the tools of your enemies against them. It's a point of tactics. But it's also a slippery slope. And in war, mercy is usually the first thing to go. If you wish to know when something is 'going too far', if you ask me, I'll be able to give you my Lady's opinion on it."

Mmmm.

"But as for me...
A knight is sworn to valor.
His heart knows only virtue.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.
His wrath undoes the wicked!
"

Obviously reciting something.

The elf   swallowed another spoonful of  stew, then took aother..he watched Luthien as he spoke, Luthien could almost feel himself  being weighed and studied in the elf's  mind.

wa bit of  a  smile  came to his face as  the man said "going too far". Still , he l;ets the fellow finish and takes a deep pull on the  wine glass befoe  refilling his , and Dras's  and offers  it up once more to Luthien..The he answers.

Good Fellow? I could tell you any number of stoires that would weigh in my favor..but i will simple tell you this.

Once there were two men...just like you..Full of the blessing  and teachings of thier gods.... Both..like you  and many...many others...thought it wise to guide us on the path we tread. Until..the first time they saw a real slaver raid... We Incounter  One of them...on the raid that ended in setting Dras  free... Dras did not even wait to come to the Village..she asked for a bow..and we set off to hunt the  rest of the slavers...we came upon  a halfdozen or so..we caught them...tieed them to trees, and began to question them,,using the same methods they use,  to keep parents in line when they protest how the slavers  treat thier young.....The...'holyman'...couldn't take the \sight..and let lose the last two, while we were busy...turns out? One of them was one of them I have searched for...for the  last 2 years or so....The fellow..who would have ended up dead...Now lives..and holds more raids..Kills more people..rather  then rotting in ground....When i explained this to the Holyman? he was distraught...knowing his actions  have aided  the evil..well ours  was ending it....three days later  we caught a ride to Ironmount  on a BArge..the fellow..full plate and all...Jumped into the storm River..and sank from sight...though? Truth be told..a Serpant most likely ate him before  he ever drowned...what made him so distraught? I told him, that very deathy...every heartbreak caused by a missing  family member..any Hunters who would die  fighting those men...were now on his shoulders, because it would have ended...I suppose..his god might have even agreed...because  his incessant praying , did not give him any ease....

He  hold up a hand  and nods,..YOu spoke to Brgan...he knows my way..of being the fire, that fights the fire...YOu see.. I elarned that  from the  Druids and the  older Rangers....sometime..a fire  breaks out..whether set..or  whether  by lighting? It matters not..the fire is on its way..and it  could  wipe out a village, and kill many animals in its  path...what the druids  and Rangers do?  they clear a path..a few yards  wide...then step onto the "fire's  side" of that  line...and they set another fire.... it does  not take long, before the two walls  fo flame meet...and burn eachother out..what the holy man did ? was like he picked up a brand  from that fore, and tossed it onto the  Village side of the  path...and the fire continued on...\

..Now?  Good Luthien..You see my thoughts..and can understand my ways..we do not....very often...torture a slaver for fun...we do..however ..have  fun torturing slavers... To see the same fear in thier eyes..to hear them beg for mercy...in the same way as a Mother  Might..to try to save her child from being taken...or..perhaps ..a Young wife  would do, when her husband  is killed , or she is taken away from him,..

Smiling  Just a bit,..My Father, and the other  2  elders..see the world  as people like you do...but you saw...in the end..who they called  for aid?  he smiled..saddly..as he swirled the wine  around in his glass...Now? What does Tra..say about that?

Luthien pauses. The Commander heard him and his Code, and gave him his response.

"Why is torture specifically necessary? Would not simply slaying them in combat yield the same end? I acknowledge you can't practically put people in prison...that half ogre would've bent the bars of a prison and escaped eventually. But what good does it do to make him suffer? The ideas is to be better then evildoers, not to do unto them before they do unto you."

Pause.

"If you worry about Justice being done to slain slavers, worry not. I know EXACTLY what the fiends of Hell and the Abyss do to souls sent to them. Every pain they ever inflicted rebounds on them 10 fold and more. My father spent a lot of time in direct conflict with fiends, and passed on much of what he learned."

Luthien nods to Justin.

"Indeed, as he says. It is not the huntress's way to cause undue suffering in the hunted. When I slay a stag to deliver meat to the village, I do not shoot him in the leg, then chop pieces of his legs off one at a time. I shoot him in the heart or head, so he doesn't suffer, and make use of as much of him as I can. When I slay an evildoer, I likewise see if his equipment is tainted, if not, I can use it, or give it to those who can use it best. But the evildoer, like the stag, need not suffer on the way there."

He hopes that makes sense.

"And if it is information you crave, there are gentler ways to get it. Brother Justin, Rayna, I leave it to you to explain, for magic isn't yet among my abilities."

Though Justin is of a different Faith, men of Faith are rare enough to extend the title 'Brother.'

Re:  Shattered Blade Inn Razorhawk Village

The elf's story seemed to amuse Garme. This village was quite different from his home and so he had chosen to remain quiet since entering. Simply watch and listen to the way they did things here. It really hadn't been particularly enlightening.

"Torture and enslave those who are on the other side. It's all the same one way or the other. Those with money turn the weak against each other by offering money for slaves. In the end, they own both the winners and the losers."

He cast his gaze at the wall, thinking about the various compatriots who ended up as slaves, those who ended up in jail, those who ended up dead. It had brought him to a very simple conclusion, "So long as two people in this world draw breath, they will seek to destroy each other and each will think himself holy and just for doing so. It is simply in the nature of one who can think of himself to think himself above others."

placing the Box on the Table  and Looking at the  three new folks who  were there. The elf  says,..Take Up a Pin then..wear  it so it is  easy to see...we will add your names to the Company Charter..that is no small thing, when we go to cities and such...should you get into a fight, or be forced to kill...the character  can be the only thing between you and the  Arena...the downside, is those  companies that are rivals to us....they will seek to kill you..and take  your  pin...  Just as we have here....  he points behiond the  Counter..there are many differant Logos, pins, necklaces ect ect..from  dozens of differant companies mounted on a board there.

We have a boarfd like that, In the  Walk-thePlank..as well..though it is a bit more....cluttered....Now? those of you who do not wish to take up the Pin? That is  all well in good...just know, there is  only some much  we can do to aid you..shoudl the Law step in ...

Krell walks into the Inn..he stops at the Table  and Looks over the Group, his  scowl shows disapproval..but his eyes  show some Pride, The elders  wish to know when you are leaving....

...First Light, Father..we use the rest of this day to mend and Heal...can we expect some ehaling from the elders on this?

Garme leaned back in his chair with a dissatisfied grumble. Placing one hand on his knee while the other tapped slowly on the counter he stated cooly, "Yeah, I'm in it for the gold. One needs gold to live. Don't expect me to get all self-righteous about some crusade. The rest of my gang got pinched, ended up in the arena or as slaves."

His lips curled into a wry smirk as he noted, "But, I'm not daft enough to think I was born special. Were I born a couple days journey in one direction or the other, been a bit wealthier, caught the attention of a benefactor-- I'd likely be counted among the slavers myself. I'm just as sure the same is true of any one of you from these parts, whether you'd freely admit it or not."

He didn't have to think much about the offer to be put on a charter-- though he had serious doubts at though the flimsy piece of paper backed by the blades of this group was going to dissuade anyone interested in seeing them fight in the area. "My crew's out of commission for good, it'd seem... I'm a free agent and in no position to turn down any offer. I know better than most what it's like to wander these lands alone."

Luthien eyes the drow. He expected such talk.

"If you truly understood the Code, you'd realize my strength comes from it. To turn away from the light is to throw my own strength away."

A not so subtle reminder that Tra watches him, and expects him to behave a certain way, and without such behavior, the special gifts that sustain him can, and WILL, be withdrawn.

But back to the original topic.

"What I am trying to say, however, is that you need not resort to such to gain information. Magical charming will function just as well."

Re:  Shattered Blade Inn Razorhawk Village

Kree's statement about his souls prompted a slight shake of his head. Knowing how it has been that Eta has afforded them all many benefits and gifts, which have enabled them to live as they have for so long. Had not Kree and Justin’s paths been orchestrated by Eta to cross, it is her will has seen to this all. Kree's realisation of this it appears has not yet come to dawn on the Elf who is greatly swayed by the drowess. The arrival of Luthien and Rayna are proof of Eta's, Neta's and Tra's modicum of interest in this band of Crimson Arrows.

Captain Kree wouldst looking into those who doth strike at the patrols delay our departure. he enquired.

Kree, he chuckled at Garme's words,Very...very few elves , ever turn to slavery...if they do..None were Razorhawks. Should  we come  Upon evles that have turned? they would be the first to die..and thier  death would not be  quick. To turn on the people..is to turn on everything....

Thinking for a moment, before  answering  Luthien, Kree Finally says to Luthien, what you say..is true..we might  waste the  time of a spell flinger, or  some cleric....but there is no need to....it is also, more  rewarding to Punish the  people we question, knowing...full and well..what they have done to innocents. We Punish, as well  as kill....When  they know  we are about..I want them to be frightened..and..i will always follow through, lest...they think our fame has not been earned.

With a look to Justin he shakes his head,...we do not have time, to hunt  down every attack that comes  about. One of the other Units  will have to look into that. If...we can hit this Slaver camp, and hit it hard, we will Cripple them for a long  while, and  mayhaps..find a deeper plxce to strike.

Mmmm.

"If you agree to this, I will be able to join you as part of your unit, at least this time. As for my worth...that is for you to determine as Commander, is it not?"

Turning to Justin, "If you're comfortable with having some charms prepared, that is?"

"Honesty is part of my Code too, though I could wish you'd promised differently. That will suffice. When will we ride tommorrow?"

He has to hope his lady Huntress will be satisfied with even small steps away from full Darkness. For many small steps added up becomes a journey.

Krel sits down. The tiny chair and creaks and groans audibly under his weight as he settles into it. He puts his heavy tankard down in front of Moss, and sets the bag of fish down next to him. He puts the sack of figs on the table flat, and takes the figs from inside to place them in a pile on top of the sack. Next to the figs, he sets a small pile of rare spice. He takes a pickled fish and sets it on the table, and chops the head off with his knife, and fillets it as best he can; cutting the meat into neat bite sized pieces, and setting them on the sack in yet another neat pile. He then tosses the fish head shallowly into the air, catching it in his mouth. He laughs again, pickled fish eyes staring lifelessly out of his open mouth as he dusts off his hands.

“I wonder, Do they have this spice here? It is held in high regard where I come from. Please, try it all. Tell me what you think. I’ll be right back.” Krel says around the fish head in his mouth. As he sucks the meat and organs out of it, Krel stands again, and approaches the bar.

It was much later in the morning when Diana finally began to wake up.  Mostly because she really, really had to pee.

After her business, she returned to her room, surprised to see how late it was.  She quickly got dressed, and made her way downstairs.

Although, she certainly did not move fast.  In fact, about half way down the stairs, she paused as the stairway took one giant spin.  She steadied herself, and then made it the rest of the way, but much slower.

She found a few others at the table, and took a seat.  When someone asked here what she wanted, she weakly smiled.

"Something for a hangover." She said with a chuckle.

"2 eggs, over easy, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and a steaming cup of hot chocolate if you have it." She said.

She leaned her head backwards, closing her eyes.  Someone brought her some hot Tea, saying something about "curing what ails you."

She nodded her thanks, and slowly drank.  It took a few minutes but the headache from the hangover slowly began to go away.

When her breakfast arrived, she thanked the elf, and slowly began to eat.

"Kitty lady." She said to herself, shaking her head and chuckling.

She arose and went to take a shower, returned to her room, and got dressed.  She made her way downstairs, finding a few people in the dining area.  She asked if there was something for a hangover, and the waitress smiled and nodded.

She brought her some hot tea that smelled a bit off, but she drank it down.  She was relieved to find that as she drank, the headache slowly went away.

She ordered breakfast, and then went outside to see what was going on.  There she was the mages enter.

For a second she let out a very low hiss.  Then she caught herself.  She went to see how Kree was going to deal with these idiots.

It's more often feelings of rightness and rarely specific words.  The Gods reveal themselves differently in many places.  I am still trying to sense my way here.  Mina seems to resonate some as does Tra and Harg.  Mina seems to be a more significant and/or power deity since she seems stronger to me and of course she has her own temple here.

Once the server is away, he continues.  Mina seems to be a goddess of nature and her symbol appears to be a tree so I think that you might find something there.  As much as some like to proselytize, in my experience connecting to the divine is an individual and very personal thing.  It can connect you to an understanding of your gifts in a way no other mentor can.  I agree, in cities that can be tough to find that quiet.  Perhaps Mina is speaking to you already and you just didn't know who it was.  He smiles at her warmly.

Brie had gathered her stuff and rearranged her gearbag with some of the assortments of clothes that Kree had offered up that was his sister's plus the new and replacement gear and items.  She gave Loa and Carr a hug before departing.

>>>>

Arriving with Kree at the tavern, she tilted her head and giggled at Ivy and his endeavors.  Ivy, one of these days one of these females are going to get you into some serious trouble, she adds.

She pats him on the back.

well, cousin? You are  in the graces of the sister's this day, since we will be  walking through The Timber for the next day or so... the Sun will not be able   to split that head of yours...

She smiled widely and thought about that for a bit while she sipped her drink, waiting for the food to arrive. She nodded too.

"Perhaps you are right. I always feel peaceful when I'm in the forest, except when a chattery squirrel tosses acorns or pinecones down at me, or a blue jay squawks at me to get out of his territory. And those pesky mocking birds diving at my head are a pain. But it's their home more than it is mine so I just move on so I'm not disturbing their families. In the towns, if your neighbors complain, there's not much you can do to get away from them for long. She does sound like my kind of Lady though. Perhaps I will seek her out later when all is peaceful and my stomach isn't so full I fall asleep. Wouldn't that impress her so much! Come to commune and snore away the time."

She laughed softly then leaned back as the server brought their food on a big tray. She thanked the server and helped settle the plates around their table since the tray looked heavy. "Thank you. It looks and smells wonderful! My mouth is already watering.

She ordered eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and tea.

She watched as the others began to trickle in.

Lucy had a blast played "Kitty Lady" for the kids.  But truth be told, she was glad to be getting back on the road.

She went back to the inn, late that night, and went to bed.  In the morning, as the sun was rising, she rose.  She could smell the food cooking.

she went downstairs, and ordered breakfast.

She ordered eggs, bacon, and toast, with some tea.

As she watched the others come down the stairs, or into the inn, she reflected on the last two days.

It had been nice.  Just relaxing and enjoying herself.  She had allowed her guard to be let down, and had just unwind and relax.

Now, she was ready to go.

Re:  Shattered Blade Inn Razorhawk Village

Kree looks around, Rolf is by the hearth  staying mostly quiet as was his wont.

Well... it would seem every one is here now, save the  new fellow  Ivy   and Brie  spoke with?

Ivy takes another bite of toasted bread, with out raising his head.

Eat well... for we  will push hard through the forest.. we will stopp As it  Grows  dark... It has been a few years since we  with take the North road.. there are some smaller  Villages   about....I am sure they will allow us rest there...but we only have besties  to worry about in here... if we are attacked  by anyhtg else..then something will be amiss...

..we have a Mission, rather then a contract this time.... we will be searching for a missing  unit of Arrows

he  Pulls out the Map  and places it  on the table , inviting  them to look at it.....we have a long trek through The Timber.. the path will be faster for us, then outlanders, butonly by a day or so

..When we  reach here..... he  taps the map in the  trees  that is in line with the City of Mok.. we  will begin to  jounry through the grasslands.... until we  reach the banks of the Lather River.... then travel down the banks until we reach the Mok Ferry..it was suggested to me, that we check Mok..for sign of   the missing Arrows... whther they are hunting something..or have been taken there?... if  we do not  find  any trace there.. we will have to make out way to the Trace Wood... That is  were CAptain Carn and his Arrows  do thier work, most of the time....but, it is also the territory of the other missing  Unit...Carn claims no idea of what happened... i should think he should....

Tapping his finger on Mok, and sliding it down the  bank towards the BlackTimber, Kree says,..The Grasslands here...more or less , belong to the   BlackTimber people.... Cat folk? well...they do not see it that way... there is a good bet we will run into them..... The  Desert folks  are , more or less good people.. The great desert has  turned them dark skinned?....the men... for some reason..wear alot  more  jewerly then the women....and?  the women can fight   with a blade and bow , rather  well, for humans...but , as in all folk... the desert Raiders  as  as bad, if not worse then the  slavers   around out lands.. or   river pirates.... they will know  we are a merc  company.. and they will know what our mark stands  for...so we wil find  enemies..without looking too hard.

The Lather  river.. does not  have many serpents , but they have odd looking  reptiles... lond snouts with teeth...

Ivy's muffled  words......look like bloody green logs...

  Kree smiles,..any questions?

Luthien seems to be concerned about the desert all the same.

"But if the Wardens keep it for their own use, then it is an impractical solution anyway. The mail here will be sized for elves, and I am somewhat bigger to begin with."

Luthien's 6'4" frame tends to be a good bit taller and sturdier than his elven friends.

Lucy had been to the desert in the past.  It was not a pleasant experience.

"Bring all the water you can.  But drink it slowly." She said.

"The heat will bake you, no matter what you armor you were.  Dress in light colors, such as White, light browns.  They tend to reflect the sunlight." She said, offering advice from her own experience.

"I don't know about these deserts, but up north we have a species called a Sand Shark.  Nasty creatures.  They are like the reptiles of the rivers, but travel under the sands." She said.

She made sure she had an extra wineskin of water.  Going into the desert was never a favored place.  But she would be ready to do so.

Ivy shakes his head...why would  any  Arrows  travel to the  sands?...it  is bad enough  we go into the Swamp, now and again!

..because... they  may have been taken there.... though i do not believe that. I cannot see any Unit of Arrows , being taken alive by slavers.

Then he is quiet for a bit, Before  adding...The Sand People trade with us, for the same reason, we trade with the Sand people... very few ledgitmate merchants  deal with Sand folk, because of the heavy  amount of darkskinned humans and halflings that crew slaver  ships on the Lather River, or the open sea. The Corsairs  are hated as much to the folks of the Coast, as the Red Isle Halflings, or the red Elves themselves .  But there are Coarsairs, who act like Arrows.. and seek out enemy ships and sink or capture them..they fly a  Flag with crossed , curved  swords, with the  'mound' of Ironmound  in the backround... The Flag is green and Gold..remember that...

..When we reach Mok? The people we talk to , have just as much chance of serving the raiders.. as being normal business folk...so?..becareful of what you say, and to whom.
