Kashtheil had found a spot that allowed him to view the area ahead of them easily. He was manipulating some long grass into the shape of a flower. He heard Riku coming over to him. "I figured this would be a good spot it gave me a good view of the area ahead and is away from the others. As for resting with me, if you wish I would be honored. I will keep watch over you best I can sleep is not something I do." He finished the small flower and handed it to her. He took his cloak and placed it on the ground close to him folding it a few times to make it more comfortable for her. "It is not the goose feathered bed, but it is the best I can do, without using magic, which I need to recharge."

Luthien is still not quite comfortable with what happened here...this is the kind of evil he wanted to blunt, after all. But this evil for evil cannot be blunted quickly. Causing conflict within in the arrows will not do any good just yet.

It is with a somewhat heavy heart he beds down. The Lion may well have deserved what happened to it, but life isn't always about what is deserved.

Foril chuckled softly at Ivy's teasing but merely nodded along, "They are right Laithia... best to deal with it as it comes anyhow.  Who knows, maybe they divorced... do they allow that in Ironmound?  She'll try to kill you for ruining her life and she'll be locked away for being incurably crazy but mostly harmless."

Foril led her to some tall grass near the edge of the trees not far from her brothers if possible which he promptly began to stomp down, "This will give us something better than dirt and rocks to rest on.  You'll need your strength tomorrow."

Re: The Cat Hunt

Kree  took his circuits around the camp for most of the night. Ivy sat by the fire looking out over the  grasslands with his back to the fire, and his hood up.

The Night  was fairly quiet, animals  in the swamps and forest to the southwest..howls of  real animals hunting in the grasslands.

True to his word, the Sun was about a hand's breath below the tops of the trees of the Black Timber.

Kree had rekindled  the fires and  had some of the Hot Brew going as well as some tea,..Everyone up..have a  drink of something hot...we leave as soon as you are done,  We will make sure you are all fed, Good and Porper , at the Ferry...should only take  us a few hours to get there... He had  scronged the Cat's supplies and gattered Tin cups and Bowls to use, anything else, he tossed in the fire, not wanting to know what kind of meat the foodstuffs might be...

As the people came  forth to get the  Cuffie or the tea, Kree was handing out what they wanted. Ivy had  Cut  "biskets" of bread from the last loaf he had, to make certain each of the people, had  one, to go with thier drink.

Re: The Cat Hunt

Laihia smiles at Foril and follows him a bit away from the fire and helps him set up a sleeping area for them both. She does pull a blanket from her pack and with Foril's help, spreads it out for them both. She settles down next to him and with a smile says, "as do you need sleep! I shall see you in the morn." She closes her green eyes but Foril feels one of her hands reach out and finding his, she intertwines her fingers with his and falls asleep.

When morning comes, she wakes and gives Foril a big smile. Hearing Kree calling out, she sighs! "He is such a party pooper when it comes to mornings! Sometimes all I want to do is sleep in," she giggles letting Foril know she is only joking. Getting everything together, she gets her blanket back into her pack and follows Foril to breakfast.

Laithia takes some tea and a biscuit winking at Ivy as she follows Foril so they can have a quick meal. "I hope you do not think too badly of me! I really did not know he was married. He did not tell me and no one had ever seen her husband. I just thought he was a mercenary or something. He acted like he was just stopping for the night," she says staring into her tea as she wonders why she is so worried about what Foril thinks of her.

Luthien is up fairly early...he had to do his morning prayers anyway.

Only after his morning prayers are done does he join the eating.

"Well...another morning."

He doesn't look all too happy about something, but he doesn't seem to want to speak of it.

Riku had found him and gave a soft smile as she curled into the simple bedding.

Anything is better than a limb, she said.  Those have been my beds of late.

Laying comfortably on the flower, it didn't take long until the sounds of the forest and plains hymed her into a deep sleep.

Kashtheil will see her toss and turn and even make small little noises in her sleep until early dawn...when she's as still as the cloak she was resting on, even the early morning noises didn't seem to provoke her.

Kashtheil watched her the whole time. He was afraid to move or even touch her, so he made mental notes, of her. The way she looked, moved, proportions, and even her smell. This was an opportunity, for him, in many ways, but he found himself actually admiring her. She was much stronger than he thought, of her and much stronger, in many ways than him.

Kashtheil deftly got, into his back removing the Elven bread he had and patiently waited, for her to wake.

Re: The Cat Hunt

Foril looked at Laithia, "If you didn't know and weren't in a relationship where it was at least implied you were exclusive, then no muss on you.  I'm here to assist and save hurting people.  Being a prisoner to the catfolk is just one kind of hurt... arguably two or three.  It sounds like your wife-friend, was upset at his cheating but I'd imagine she handled it as is more or less... human nature... no offense to them, but they do tend to blame others or themselves.  Any place the burden doesn't really belong looks like a good place for the negative feelings.

Elves... we have to deal with things differently... or we end up spending a long time in very dark places.  Some few humans I've met are good about it, slightly more elves.  Dwarves are pretty good about it on the whole.  You work with what you have and you let the rest fall where it may.  Sweep up afterwards.
"

Foril was looking at Kree when he mentioned dark places.  Shadow was necessary to see properly and define goals or other targets... the dark... it was where one shouldn't spend much time.  He just had water with his 'biscuit'. "Thank you," he said to the brothers as he collected fair from them.

In reply to moving out (msg # 1004):

Rising early Justin gave thanks to Eta for her hand on them through the night and petitioned for her protection during the day to come. Once finished  went about providing what aid he could to the injured by checking their wounds and such, as they partook of what provisions were available. Standing he nodded acknowledgment of Kree's instructions, moving to take up a position on the left flank, up to 15' behind Ivy in a supportive roll and close enough to the refugees to render aid if needed.

Diana had spent the night, when not on watch, helping out where she could.  It was times like this she wished hse did have some kind of magical powers.
She wanted to do more to help these people.

Other time was spent just watching the whole camp.  She liked to people watch.  She found them interesting in how they acted, or how they reacted to certain situations.

She saddled her horse, and mounted.  She took her position on the right flank, keeping a look out for any enemies.

Rolf disdains using any of the catfolk cups nor will he touch their provisions.  He'll wait for a right proper meal at the ferry.  When Kree asks of him taking rear guard, he simply nods in agreement and watches as the ragged former captives work themselves into a bunch to head out, looking at the bruises, cuts and all the signs of abuse they'd suffered, it only adds to his cold determination to rid the world of their foul talons.

Ivy was  hunting on his side, Looking for movements that may Come from the South and west..If one looked back thatv way, they could see Carrion Beasts...Vultures, and Lizard-birds..that feed on the dead...some were circuling the Campsite...now and then diving down to the Pile of 'cooked meat'

Diana could see a bit further  ways, on her horse, towards the Northeast..she could see clouds of Dust were some wagons or horsemen or somthign. might be ehaded towards the BAlck Timber.

As they walked the Man and woman who were..'the leaders'..watched the rest, the man pickign up a young boy and putting him on his shoulders to transport him a bit of the way. The Woman asked aloud, for any who could hear, to answer,...we have heard or  The Arrows....how did you come to find us?

Diana rode quickly back to the group, and Kree.
"There are wagons or riders riding hard for the black Timber, from the Northest." She said.
"I'd estimate an ETA of about 30 minutes or so." She said as a warning.

She wheeled her herse around and hurried back out to the right flank scout postion  She kewpt an eye on the distant dust.  She hoped it kept going, and avoided the band.  Right now, they didn't need any confrontations till the survivors were at the ferry.

As they set out, Laithia takes up position by Foril. "I am not friends with the woman whose husband I slept with. She actually hates me for some reason. I never did anything to her until I slept with her husband. I wish I knew why she hated me before that. I am pretty fun to be around," she says with a sly little grin.

Even though, she is talking to Foril, her hand is always on the hilt of her katana. Her eyes continue to take in their surroundings as well as watching the group they are escorting. She makes sure if anyone needs aid that she will see what she can to help. All the way, she always finds herself back with Foril.

Luthien, on the other hand, takes his place in the order...whether that's rearguard or point, he's equally comfortable with either. These opponents seem to like coming out every which way, so being on point isn't necessarily as effective as it might normally be. Regardless, the idea is to make sure he's between cats and the mages, whichever direction cats come from.

Fluttering over to Diana she paused and rested between the horses ears.

We are to head on towards that way and tell the Ferry people, she said pausing as she said it and then thought about it.  That we have people that need shelter, food, clothing and to put it on Arrow's tab.

She gave Diana a big smile as she sat atop the horse's head.
