Once Cassandra dons the Crimson Arrow pin Myranda gives her a welcoming hug, and kisses her cheek. Welcome Arrow/Sword Sister, when we have time we can chat about the men and who to be wary of, you'll probably like to learn about our other Crimson Sisters. she quietly informs.

...Right then?..Off   ye go. We have a lot of people who want to see the crown of the Empire....

There is a bit of a grin as he winks with the eye..off side.. the young Dwarf...and there was the briefest Glimpse of a  tiny ruby Arrow inside his  chainmail shirt, as he reached to take the ledger back.

Myranda gave Cassie a more supportive hug. Stepping away from the new Arrow just as they both were engulfed in Justin's comradic embrace. By the Sisters Mercy, unhand us you bear, before you crush us in your merriness. she half protested pushing at Justin's arm.

In reply to ironmound (msg # 661):

Once free of the fellow’s arm Myranda tugged at Cassi's hand See what I mean about being wary she winked. Turning to the watch she nodded grateful for their assistance and quick thinking.  Thank you Corporal, may the Sisters grant you and this checkpoint a pleasant day she smiled offering the Corporal a subtle nod, before heading through the massive gate.

Cassie cringed a little at the hug, but then forced herself to relax.  "Yeah, I'll make sure he is one," she replied, smiling up at Justin.  She let Myranda take her hand and lead the way into the city.

As they entered the gates, she leaned close to Myranda to whisper.

Justin released the women stepping away from both. Clasping one hand to his chest and placing the back of other to his brow, closing his eyes and tilting his head back in the manner of Theatrical pose 3 the wounded courtier Forsooth Thee doth woundest One with Thy barbed words. he declared in mock torment, then peeked at them with one eye.

She laughed.  "He's a pussycat, I bet, when you get to know him."  She leaned close.

She blinked, trying to follow the speech.  Clearly she had much to learn.  But then again, she had told the truth, she was not used to being a group.

Justin shrugged, his efforts at portray the dramatic apparently fell far short of the mark. Methinks Thee seek to ensure One be the perpetual crestfallen; if such be Thy goal Thee be in error, for Etna willst foil Thy efforts at every turn. Justin declared as the group passed through the checkpoint and entered the City Proper. Weaving their way through the mix of wagons, horses with riders and walkers they headed towards the Plank.

Haildas brought up the rear of the group.  He moved with a relaxed stroll but his eyes belied such ease.  He was rather familiar with city guards and their various ways.  Some were loyal, honor bound men but far too many were the exact opposite; petty, cruel and a lust for gold like no other.  Being a stranger to these lands himself, he silently thanked the fates that he stumbled across Justin when he had.

as the  group went through the Gates, the  wide   cobblestone  Avenues stretched  out , North and  south. The  Drawbridge  over the  west end of the river , was down, with no signal  for  it being raised... they would need to cross over   , if they wished to go to the Docks.

Or,,if they should  travel  to the  South   along the southern edge of the city

Re: Ironmound...The City

The   Gates  they entered was the Avenue of Kings. Once called this, because  what  'kings' ( or queens) may have been around at that time had palaces  there.

Since those times... Kings  and Queens  are Gone from  the Empire... though the Lands  Ruled  by Hargen still have  many... the Avenues   are very, very wide.. the streets  are normal streets.

as they looked  abiut  , they saw    BArracks on each side of the  gates.. with compounds  around them.

on the  south corner  is a large area with  many beggars calling out  for alms.  some Holy warriors  stand  close to protect them form thieves  or rude visitors.

straight ahead  was the Mighty Palace of the Emperors.... a very high wall... was in front of a moat.. that was in front  of yet, another  wall.. with the Palace rising like  a tree,..... Off in the distance was one  thing a bit  Taller.. The Iron Mound itself... claimed to have been set by the gods..when people could barely cover themselves with animal skins.. the   Rich ore from the heavans, make keen weapons. much sought after.. and  very high priced...The Dwarves do not  give them out, or sell them freely, even to thier own kind.

turning  eastward the group sees many Inns  and  taverns..Ax and Blade  on the left hand ( as they are walking)..there  appears to be  another  at the end of a short street that leads  almost to the wall.. the  Street is called  Rest Street...

On thier left, they pass  a slightly wider 'normal; street, Called the Street of Heroes...  on that  same  side  some 500 yards or more is another street called Lords  Ave ( the lords  did not want to have the name 'street' ) to the left was Spear ST...A Shop called  Marten's Missles   was on the  western conter..another shop was slightly behind it...  The Forest Tavern is on the   east corner. Large  walls    rise  from the tress and Buildings, the walls of the   South Gate River  Guard.... from this  side   they can see the tiny figures of troopers , on the River  gate parpits  and   some  of the  samller  ships  sailing in.. The drawbridge they are Nearing is down... dozens of bloody nooses   hand  from the  inside  of that Bridge.

Crossing the Bridge they can see the MAin docks... the  massive  Storm river gets  wider here.. and , when the suns  right.. the shadows of  Serpants  can be seen  crusing  along the with the ships.. waiting for  slavers  that might be tossed in as  treats for the serpants... tiny fishing boats dot the River  as the  fisherman vie with the serpents  for  food  and commerace.  Smoke  risined  from the ship yards..  to the north east.. and behind  that are the walls of the arena. used to both punish prisoners, and  make coin for the  City's upkeep... After  Crossing the Busy  drawbridge, Justin  turns to hsio right, to  lead then down the Street of Wares.. the smell of fish and such is strog here as people fish the shores  for food..or..if they are lucky..make a decent catch on a serpernt to sell at the market..

On their  right is  the shop  Lamps and Lanters...Further  down a shop called   Furs... there are some  of the Orcs who live in there own walled section of the city there, as well as  some  northmen who are  talking   as they ready to take in thier  catch. ' Ship's Ahoy ' is a busines for renting out  samller  boats , up to one masted  sloops... there the road  curves to the  east.. and Justin walks  down a worn  stone covered path,

As always  there are some of  the 'normal' criminals  that are working off their sentences, by  cleaning and   maintaining the river  walls.... sharp eyed  guards  look over the area with laoded  crossbows...in case of  escape..or..serpents.

They reach the  wharf iteslf.. seeing   large merchant ships... Privateer warships  and other such carft.. they are dwarfed in size by the Ironmond Naval ships made of Ironwood  of   Black Oak... On such warship is heading Up river, to take its  trun on patrol.. two smaller  Navy sloops   sail with it... But the  extra  flag on its  stern the ship is also an ocean going warship...

All the Military ships are  docked   on the farside. just south of the 'Mound".

The Streetof waves  is reached that leads to the Market to the  east.. the Dockside  rest is the  First Inn on the  wharf...the  second  sports a sign that  is a cross between gnome skil and  magic... a wooden board sticks out  from the  loer  end of the 2nd  floor  window, that is above the door..a small figure   that appears to have its hands  tied behind it back..toddles down the   wood  until it  'falls off'.. it is then  pulled under the  board.. and begins  the  walk once more.

The Sign say " Walk the Plank"

a  small fellow runs out to them, Justin remember's his name as Fetcher. ..welcome  Back!..where's the Boss?... did you find and the fellow  scampers  north ward as two men walk down the gankplank of  a 'traveling' ship.  slavers ?..Oh..wait..there's a prospect.. i better go chat him up....

Good morrow to the Master Fetcher, may Etna's hand guide Thee this day. Justin greets then quickly adds as the Arrow heads off to seek a possible addition to the Company. Reaching the Walk the Plank Justin opens the door and peers inside, checking its relatively safe. When satisfied that it is he steps back allowing the Ladies to enter. After Thee Ladies.

Re: Ironmound...The City

Cassandra could not help but look around the city like one who had never seen such... which was true about her, listening intently to what Myranda told her.  Her city was not nearly this big or grand... or scary.  She felt as if every eye were staring at her, and not to admire her.  It made her glad that her past had not followed her here, or so she hoped.

However, she couldn't help but giggle as Justin checked out the Inn before allowing the women to enter.  When had a man ever done that for her?

"Why thank you, M'lord!" she stated, making a big scene of stepping over the threshold to peer inside.

Re: Ironmound...The City

The Dwarf sat  with his back to the wall, behind him were  books on  recessed shelves,  and Some  weapons  mounted on the wall.

Indeed, the  Plank hand  weapons , Fangs and a few heads of  odd creatures.. the fire  place  was close, but off set.. giving both heat and Light, but still fed the  rest of the  In's Common room.

At this point of the Day, the  Inn only had a few dozen  people scattered around...some were sailors or travelers , who were not Arrows...Others   could  easily be scene as such as one would notice the pins, earings, necklaces and  even rings that sported  an arrow like gem.

The Table  was  Empty save  for on of the Arrow Captains. The Human Carn. He looked at them as they entered, and Reedrick   waved to the   waitresses...

..Right now.... ye be sittin' down an' tell me what has  Happened.. I'm getting  sorts of reports from the Village...

Behind the  bar the  was around the  corner from  the Dwarf's table, A pair  of  woman were   pouring  drinks, well others  went in and out  the  swinging doors to the  Kitchen... on the other side of the fire place, was a door that  lead to the basement,  and the stairs  that lead  to the upper floors.

one of the  Tenders  was on a chair, places  a Path from another Merc  Company on  a very large cork board.. to  join scores of  others.

Reedrick Motioned  for CArn as he looked at Justin,..You remember Carn? he's one of the Captains from the  Trace Wood.. he just got in last Night...

Carn nodded as he sipped from an Ale...Well Met, Justin... I hear you and the Elf Split his  unit up?... Guessin' he's still hangin' out  at the Village?

The dwarf  frowned at CArn's words and was about to say something when the servers  Brought to pots of Stew , Bowls  and  two baskets of rolls , with Fresh honey.,, Pitchers  of Ale and  two bottles or  wine were set out.

Cassie would note the  servers  had  silver necklaces with  tiny Arrows dangling from them.

.. well.. Justin?  Ye  get yourself  down and  spoon up some  Stew..You can Make  your  report while  we eat... and  gimmie the names of the new folks here..

fetcher  came in  and looked  bummed out as he went to the bar for a glass of  wine and a rolls.

Myranda, wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to enjoy the food being offered, gave Reederick an friendly smile. Extending it to Carn in the process before she slipped onto a seat and served up bowls of stew for their team. When everyone had taken a bowl she handed out Myaranda gave thanks to the Sisters for their blessings then set to her bowl with relish. Captain Carn if I'm not stepping on any toes would your team be needing any extra members or want to rotate about. She wasn't interested in transferring into his command rather trying to judge if they could entice some of the Company into a more active one.

Cassie said nothing as they entered and sat down.  By day, her way of dressing was even more stark, with her skin-tight black clothing, black makeup, black on her lips, her pierced nose and vine tattoos on her arms.  It made her more odd, despite the arrow pin on her breast.

She simply let the others talk, wondering again if this was a good idea...
