  The scene  is played out as  I have it posted...The tentacle guy seems to be suffering the same headache-like  effects  that our comrade did?

  it was  already  at the back of the room and ws heading towards the door...the  sudden appearance of Luthien and his announcement, was going to slow the guy down!

 Look at the post, and react to what is posted there.

Maybe, but as you did not provide a map (or did you?) I was unsure if he was headed towards me or the other direction.

At the Far end of the room is  an Odd creature that has a mass of tenticles on its face, it his holding its head as if in pain and is Running to a Door at the back of the room.

To get to the Illithid you need to get past the Gnome that dropped a girl and move 70' past the table with a Gnome at one end; 5 humans & 1 catfolk, on the left side and 2 orcs, 1 darkelf & 1 gnome on the right side.

That's why I put mirror image up on the way :)

Illithid is the primary target for a Paladin. Nothing else in the room is nearly that evil.

Suggest you press forward into G3 to get the Gnome either felling him or pushing him to the left so he's out of the way. This may help the archers to get a better shot of the fleeing Flayer.

Aren't our directives to kill everyone quickly, which would suggest not letting the Flayer get away. You two of you have a relatively clear shot at it yet, choose to target something else

Justin? the entry post as the creature  moving towards the door.

the  first turn is a surprise turn,the Good guys  get to move/attack, But the creature is still moving and already entering the doorway..I would need to roll for any archers  targeting the creature.
