Re: River

The  Fellow smiled, but then it  faded...She  may...indeed... But... i had worked hard, all the summer... trapping, woodcutting.. fishing..sneaking off to  Bowshot with smaller serpents  for the Inns  to serve... i finally  made a trip to Ironmound  and  found a jewler  in the   Pleasure  section who  bought  items from  folks who needed coin... and sold them at a modest rate.. I hade a  sunstone  ring.... if ..if you  let it  sit  by day in the sun, it will glow , softly , at night... I was going to give that to her, and ask for her hand.... but.. the slavers  took everything... coin.. even my bow.....it will take a while, before i can earn the coin enough to get a decent bow, ... i may have to take the chance to try for bigger serpents..

Dime   says off handedly,..if  we don't stop.. we can reach the  first patch houses  , but end of day....  then Sun had  just tipped over its peak, and  was on its  path downward.

Ereg  looks at the river... the water  isn't too rough now. we have  tried to  use, swing arms.. like  they do for irrigation in the   sands?... a traveler showed us once?.. but  the river is close  enough, we did not   try.. though one of the old  Elders  talked  about nets on  a swing arm.. we got alot more  fish, and a few smaller  serpents... it Broke when we had  a 8 footer in there thrashing about.

To benefit from anything like this it would be best to keep it hidden from anyone else so it should be dismantle and stored in the houses of the group. Do you think that's possible?

Re: River

..I suppose  we could, depending on how it was made.  out Patch houses, and the  more  past us , do not have that many folks, we normally work together.. we might  be able to get  people to help with the catch and  protect the   fishing machine...,both out patches do not get  the same  level of  travel from merchants.. save for the Mason who makes sure he gets some stones from  every PAtch.

One hath some skills which may be of assistance with such a device. Additionally if those involved were to relocate so they be closer to each other Twouldst provideth each greater protection against similar incursions from raiders, ast well ast enabling the group to operate the Device quicker ast they wouldst be closer to it when required. Mayhap establishing a Compound which couldst provide housing anst protection for the Group ast a whole.

Re: River

First things first we should finalise our commission before considering other options that may delay other choices When they are close to Lill's Patch house Myranda angles the longboat into the bank, holding it that way to prevent drift from the river and allowing the others to climb out and secure the boat to a mooring line.

Re: River

There  is a shift from  Ereg  as he points  up river,in a few hours?.. maybe... 2?... we should see a Jetty.. there will be a few ropes  hanging from it..on  hot  sunny days,  people will swing  from those  ropes   and drop into the water... the serpents  do not like the sun.. of course.. if you are too bold  and go out in the deeper water.. i cannot  say you would not be eaten...

...when we see that  Jetty, ther is a small  indent, in the shore, fromwhere we harvest stone to sell to the  stone mason.. we can put it there, both the  boat and  us we then be hidden from the main river..well..once  we flurl the sail... it is  only a few  hundred yards to  the  end patch house, of my PAtch

Seeing that Myranda steered the longboat over to the bank, Justin hurriedly clambered ashore, quickly securing a bow line to a firm anchor point. He moved towards the back of the longboat, motioning for those aboard to toss him a stern line so he could do the same with it. Once the boat was secure, he assisted the Women and Children ashore. Quickly now Folks, yon be the Patch house of our Employer Mistress Lill, we shallst partition her for shelter for Thee anst reunite her with her fiancée. he informs pointing towards Lill's house.

As Myra  nears the house   she can see a few  kids  are playing at something that requires a ball to be passed back and forth.. there is a fellow out  cutting  wood.
adding to the growing heap of  cap pieces he is splitting

Lill  called for the voice to  Come in ,the  Little  one scrambled from the  floor  to   hide behind her.

She gasps  and   tires  not to  cry.. the little one looks   back and forth between the two women  confused.

Some of the Poepl watch from a distance  as   Justin's group approaches Lill's home.

Grig  ran up to Justin  and was  looking around For  Krwyn and the others.

the group of  exslaves looked unsure.. they seemed a bit stronger  as they rested in the boat  and eat, fairly well.

Ereg  seemed to hesitate a bit.. as he  approached the door.
