Re: River

This  Patch of  Houses   has  only 7 houses.   2    some  100 yards  away, where the    dead  ranger's  dog was  found..that house is still empty.

the other   5  are  within  30 or so yards of each other,  with the 'old  one'  across the mudded  road .... the   next  patch of  house is  up towards    bowshot... 1/3 of a mile... there  are 8  houses there.... and  the 'big path is  another few miles  up the road, closest to Bow  shot  has  9 Houses..

If   Haildas  and Krwyn    walk  a  patrol   they would  have   a   Few  Hunderd  yards  to encompose  the   two patch houses  in the   'party'

OOC: I suppose then I shall focus my efforts primarily towards the river side of the houses.  Whether it be serpents or slavers, that seemed to be the trouble area on our previous visit.

the    fest goes on , well into the Night... Mothers  or father s    take thier young ones who.. single  folks  hang about  as they   finish the  feats and drink.

stories  told of the old days.. the battle to  make  Bow shot a place to live...   the protecting of the Builders  for Ironmound... and the Betrayal of the Ironwood   Elves  when  Ironmound  sought to take the Black Timber's    trees...

Tales of the BlackTimber ,  of the   the treaty that was signed... Of Krell Quickshadow  and His   Band of Hunters.. Of   Gornn Orbender, the Dwarf from the High Peak Mountains  that friended the group as he hunted  down slavers. pirate  and  Hargen  Troops.

The  Story  always included the High Peak Swarfs  and trace  Wood  Elves   comign to the Aid of   The Balck Timber... the loose  allies   'won the war' that was  never declared.. but the slap in teh face to the Ironwood  Elves, The Humans  and the Dwarves of the  Iron Mound.. has never been forgotten.

The  Allies   have never   droped thier    treaty with  Ironmound... But the Empire  is always careful to  ask... when  crossign their lands...

Avoiding any alcohol, Haildas continues his back and forth patrol nearest the river side of town.  Periodically he would weave back into the crowd, if nothing more than to simply show he was still present, before disappearing once more back into the encroaching darkness.

Kr'wyn continues his rounds for safety during the night. Now and again he joins the party for a while, taking some food and drinks.
When morning comes he meets Haildas on his last round. Together they look for their companions, waking them for breakfast and for the next stage of their journey.

Grimalkin kept apart from most of the festivities, lingering near the edges of the crowd. Sampling some of the food and watching as the villagers enjoyed themselves, eventually finding a secluded spot to relax and rest.

In reply to River (msg # 905):

Rising before dawn Justin devoted an hour to Prayers and Thanks to Eta, then spent time in seeing to himself and his equipment. Finishing up by assisting the Patch folk to tidy up a little. When the others in the group had roused themselves He informed them to be ready to leave within the quarter hour. Spending 12 minutes with Ereg, Lill and Onra passing the time in pleasant conversation before bidding them a good day and setting out. Giving any Patchhouse Folk a friendly wave in passing and if close enough sharing a few words with them. Justin assigned Myrada and Cassie to the Left and Right Lead Scouts as they headed towards the Black Timber. Setting a hasty pace as he did.

As is his custom, Haildas holds his tongue during the encounter and subsequent ferry.  Given what the goblin was saying, he felt it best to simply remain quiet and watch the approaching shoreline for anything odd.

Cassie was more than happy to be off the ferry and away from the goblins.  She frankly was not fond of either.  So she instead focused her mind on her job... listening, watching and scouting.  Her feet were nearly noiseless as she walked, her hair pulled back in a braid to expose her sensitive ears.

Cassie my dear would you care to partake of a contest of accuacy and skill. ooc each of selects a suitable target, while the other isn't watching they shoot an arrow at the target. Once both have shot the other has to locate the arrow and be the first to retrieve the others arrow.

Re: River

The other Holy warrior  watches the Goblins, he ha s heard  of the  strange  deeds  the Black Timber  Elves  do...

when they a farther  from the Goblins they  can see the   edge of the  Mighty sea of Trees to the  South west... tendrils of  smoke  rise   from  near the edge.

..I  find it  odd, The Black Timber  would  allow  a Clan of Goblins to have a village within the  trees, yet...have stood against the Empire  for  the sake of a few Ironwood  trees? My Great Grandfather  found in that  war...He said the   Empire  could have died, then  and there, Had the  Elves  pushed to  sack the city... with the aid of the High Peak Dwarves  and  Trace Wood  Elves...

he waves his hand backward , to the ferry,..yet? there is a Ferry run by  goblins  , who libe  at the edge of that accursed forest.

It can also dupe anyone hoping to ambush us into thinking we aren't that vigilant.
