Re: River

Grimalkin followed along with the group. He was interested in seeing the Elves of the Black Timber but from what rumors he had heard was concerned at what problems could arise. But it appeared that Justin, Myranda and Cassandra were at least appearing at ease so he simply trailed along keeping his eye and ears open.

Re: River

Justin listened as Cassie and Myranda discussed the scouting come archery contest the Elves were considering. Giving a shrug he looked at the sky and smiled at Eta's hand in this, looking forward to the outcome She has. Leaving the Elfmaids to scout ahead using whatever techniques they wished, he trudged along setting a brisk pace and chewing up the yards.

In reply to River (msg # 926):

Headind towards the center of the Black Timber and away from the patrol area of any Goblons Justin lead the team to a campsite he was familiar with, 15 miles from the forest entry he regularly used. This be where Thee shalst setup camp. Myranda anst I shallst venture forth anst make undertake to learn all we can that be known oft the temple Ruins.

ooc The Elves here don't take kindly to uninvited strangers. Justin and Myranda are known here so to circumvent any problems I thought it best to have everyone stop half a day's march from the Forest

Moving past  the  Goblin Clan Village, they continue  through the grasslands … to  the north and  west a bit, they can see the lights of Tou, as the darkness  is   closing in..

Not  far  down river   are  burning torches  of  another Ferry, the Elven ferry , run  by  Black Timber  elevs, ( beating some of the Taxes for merchants if they  agree to trade  with the  Rivers...

The other   Holy warrior  asks,..if  we are  aiding the Arrows,  who took up this  quest?  Should  we not also, go to the Village?

"Sure," said Cassie, reaching for her bow.  "You go first and we can alternate.  I'll keep my eyes averted."  She smiled, both at the contest and the fact she used a new word that sounded good.

Drawing her bow when Cassandra averted her head  loosing the shsft it sailed through the air the arrow landed solidly its shaft tilting slightly, but remaining near vertical. Assessing her shot Myranda nodded contently.Your shot Cassie... she declared before turning to face the Tou River behind them.

Cassie drew her own bow and looked about for a target.  Her keen eyes found one, and she set and loosed her own arrow, smiling as it hit.  "And that is mine.  Shall we?"

ALthough Kr'wyn appreciates the way his companions practice their skills, he is not sure altogether if this is the right moment.
Furthermore: being an elf himself, he never visited the clan of elves they are to visit before, so he is eager to learn more about them.

"I'm no good at this game either," she declared.

Today: Cassandra rolled 2 using 1d2.  1 spotted, 2 missed.

In reply to Cassandra (msg # 938):

This countryside makes things more difficult than I thought. I'll get my arrow and we'll abandon this contest. Retrieving her arrow she checked its flights and end then returned it to her quiver. From where she was she signals for Cassie to continue scouting her flank as she did the same on this flank; as the team made its cross country treak towards the Black Timber.

Haildas swiveled his attention back and forth as the two tested their projectile skills.  A wry smile spread across his face briefly; the pleasantness of such a simple game bringing a minor relief from the dangers that lay ahead.

In reply to River (msg # 941):

Justin nods in agreement. Seeing how Cassandra and Myranda have abandoned their contest and are headed that way, without the slight detours their contest added, follows them towards the Black Timber. Making good time they quickly  oveted the area from the river to the Forests Edge. When 900' Justin called the Scouts in iasking them to wait with the others until he got authorisation to enter. Leaving the groip at that spot he moved forward and stopped within easy talking distance from the edge and waited.

Justin turns side on to the elves and is seen pointing to those in the location he left them. (900' away from the Forest.)
