In reply to Cassandra (msg # 96):

After her devotions Myranda thanked the Cleric, for his assistance, and the two headed along Park Road to Nar's temple. Pausing outside to allow Cassie to make any enquiries and such that may be required.

Nar's Temple  was not much Different then  any others, it wasn't as big as most, but the Polsihed stone Gleamed in the  sun's late afternoon rays.

Double  doors  were  fit into a doorway that was  round at the top, there  thick wood   carved into the  form of  a Padlock, with a  broken part  near the top.

Two   People sat on a stone  Bench over looking the approach to the Temple. One was dressed  in Grey robes with sliver  trim... a thick book in her hand. She was  smiling  and  giggling at a Fellow in Black leathers, who sported   a pair of shortswords and  a Grey Cape, who was grinning at her  as he spoke.

In reply to Temples (msg # 98):

Myranda judged one of the people seated outside Nar's temple as a Follower, the other she was unsure about. To date Myranda's associations with these followers was limited to helping their young urchin members. She was respectfully wary of their capabilities so quietly suggested Cassie take care and asked if she wanter her to accompany her into the Temple.

Cassie considered things, then shook her head.  "I shouldn't need help, Myra.  I promise not to be long, just there to look around and see if I fit in."

She went inside, looking around carefully, entering as if she expected someone to jump her.  Her dancer's reflexes allowed her to move very silently as she watched and learned.

The  two at the Stone  bench  just  watched the  two women, but  with little concern.

Inside there  were Candles  and incense like  any other  temple. Most people ..there were only a few.. sat in pews. None there , were well dressed.

The Broken Lock  was  inset , on the wall behind the Alter... a few  people in grey robes  walked  around  attending to candles  and such

Still looking about, Cassie walked up towards the alter, looking with interest at the broken lock, her left hand on the one on her cloak.  Was this her destiny?  She wondered.  She had taken to thieving simply to survive, but rarely thought of what she did as stealing.  But as she looked around, maybe she was... one of them?

there  was  a man,, rather  thin, he was dressed in  Black Leather, he  was coming out of the  Doors that lead to the inner chambers. He was laughing along  with an Older fellow  who walked  with a rather nasty limp.

The  Black  Leathered fellow threw on his  Cape.. Dark grey, but the inside  had  some  Black Trim around the  seams. he stopped and Bowed  deeply to  Cassie, then  strode out towards the doors.

The Hobbling  Man   smiled a bit,...well?..Childen... are you lost?... are you trying to find your way?...or...has your  road led you here?

he smiled,  his eyes  were quick, and she  saw  a tiny glimmer of seeing the  clasp...

She didn't move her hand from the clasp, but she bowed her head in response.  "I am no longer a child, but yes, my path has let me here.  Since I was a child, I think.  But I am still not sure why.  Or how."

Beneath the cloak he could see her all black garb, which matched nicely with her black eyeshadow and lip tint.

ooc going with the flow as we've been moved inside the temple.

Myranda gives both Narian's outside the temple a respective half smile as she follows after Cassie into the Temple. Tagging along she repeating this greeting to the two men inside the building and also reciprocating the the bow with an elegant courtly curtsey.

The Fellow  kept his eyes on Cassie's...there was  no doubt he also saw Myra. The  Dim lights of the Temple seemed to be safe... secure.. rather  the foreboding .

His Hands  clasped in front of him, he shifted  weight  easily  from his  hobbled leg,..Now.... Child..for we are all a child in the eyes of the gods...If we were to know what was to come, not only would  we be as wise  as the gods?  he grinned easily,...but life  would not be as fun! So? Tell me  why you thought it would be good to enter  Nar's home?  And.. perhaps you might answer your question, for the both of us?

In reply to Cassie (msg # 106):

The temples interior appeared somewhat safe, however Myranda had learnt from may ambushes to keep a degree of caution about her least some unexpected event chance upon the Arrows. The Narian's comment brought a smile of interest about the answer he was hoping to entice from Cassie.

Cassie thought for a long moment, realizing that this was an important question.  Why indeed?  She had thought Eta was her guide, but perhaps... perhaps...

"I... In the street, you have only the home you make, even if just for the night," she said slowly.  "Especially for an orphan half-breed.  Where you lay your head safely is you place.  Then I came here, to Ironmound, where I could lay my head without worry.  But still...  It's not home."

She glanced down at the clasp.  "I think... I think I was... I am... looking for a home."

The Hobbled  man, never  takes his eyes of hers  as she  speaks, when she  is  Finished he  gestures to  the front  pew and they  go to sit, he waits  for her to sit , before he , himself , does.

..then gods can be  as cryptic  to us, as we are of them.  You wear the device of The Arrows.... They are...fireds  of  ours. At least most are. They  Follow  at least one of the Sisters..Some  follow them Both, This brings  Vert's displeasure, as she is the god of  Chance, and loves to play with the Sister's intent... but  when both aid the same party?  It is hared for  Vert to influence things...

Putting up a finger, as to make a point, The fellow says, Nar, cares not, for  whom else praise or gifts are heaped on.. she cares  mainly for her own.... There are  known Arrows  who  follow both Sisters.. who also  follow Nar's  path..
his  eyes   sweep the   temple, there are  only a few  still inside.. he does  give a wink to  let Myra know, he knows, she is there.

..Nar's people do not  walk the streets  praising her?... They  praise her in thier Homes..or  on the road.. or perhaps ..when a trap goes  off begs  for her aid...most other Gods like thier people to  pound thier chests  and shout thier names.... But Nar?... she wants followers , who believe in her...

he shrugs with  an  frown as he looks  at the symbol above the alter,..She is freinds of the Sisters, if you study the books? They played together  as Children... Vert was always the  more... stern..and tried to usurp followers  form  all the gods... whether it be Luck..the Hunt...Harvest..whatever...she  could  try to suck, some of the power from the believers

..so..  think for a Momnet....close your  eyes...what  of Bad Luck, has force you onto this road, that ended here?..... What was the Good luck  that did the same..and what...in the realm of Nar's blessings...perhaps  suited you for the trip?

then he adds softly  as she thinks, his  voice, soft and Gently..almost opening her mind to see the past..uncolored......Followers of Nar.....Home is many things..perhaps a same  place in a city.... a friendly village in the forest..or is home, merely, having  people about you, that you  trust?.... do not speak.... until the answer comes...........

There is a flickering of the Candles  around the  Temple.. it  seems extra  quiet...

Cassie did as she was told, closing her eyes.  She let the memories come, the memories she wanted to forget, the memories she held dear.  She considered his comments and questions.  Several moments passed...

"Being attacked and... forced as a girl, being an orphan, being hungry all the time.  Those were the bad times.  They forced me to choose to survive, to live.  A few good friends along the way, learning to truly survive, finding my way here, to the arrows, to this city.  Those were good times.  All moments I am not sure I had control over. What girl does?"

She paused moment more.  "My skills, those taught to me by Darkblade, who is no longer with us.  The skills that I worked on tirelessly, the ones that allowed me to move in the darkness, to hide, to climb out of trouble, to gain entry to places that provided me with something to lift me from the gutters."  She looked at the older man.  "Those were what made the trip possible.  Those brought me to the Arrows.  And brought me here."

There was wonder in her voice.  "I already had a home, didn't I?"

Myranda returned the fellows wink. Smiling at Cassie's reply, which showed considerable thought and a clear assessment of her determination. Content to wait for further comment from Cassie which may include the place she considered Her Home, not that it mattered if she didn't say.

Cassie still looked at the old man.  "Home.  My home is with Myra.  And the Arrows.  And here.  And where I feel safe.  It's wherever I want to be isn't it?"

She smiled.  "It's because what I learned, what I do, what Nar gave to me.  I make my home where I want because of it."  She ignored the tears in her eyes.  "I am home.  Anywhere.  Oh, thank you!"

The Priest took  Both her hands in his. His smile  was pleasant, almost proud,... Thank Me?... Nay  Child, Thank Nar.. Thank the Sisters?.... but  Thank yourself..few can look deep enough, to find what they seek, with out  coloring it, to fit what they think it should be?

..Nar's Tenace.. are  as  simpoly to know... as they are hard to keep..1. never steal from those who have less then you....2...Kill not, in the taking. For that is the realm of her sister Kar....3. defend your own...4...and shine no light on your accomplishments  , if you do well..your  name  would be known... if you must tell people yuou are good..then? You are not...

he places her  hands back on her lap...it was a goodly  trun, that rbought you into the  Arrows.. they folow gods  others   turn thier nose  upat the mention of thier names...NAr..being one..but.. the Arrows    have  near as many foes, as they have friends...

then he  chuckles,..though thier leader seems to be shrinking the numbers of those who are foes....

She smiled.  "I have done the first two, for it made no sense to steal from the poor.  And I have never had to kill but in self defense.  I can now defend my own, now that I have them.  And as for my accomplishments... ask my new sister back there, I don't do that.  But Nar is my source, and I am my shield.  And I will thank you, for you, through Nar, showed me the way."

She bowed.  "I need not trumpet the name.  It will be in my actions."

For the first time to Myra, it seemed that Cassie had faith in herself...

The Priest's easy smile  took Myra  Hug and Kiss with a  bit of a flinch...ahhh.. yes... well... The Sisters do have thier   hands  in many things. One would be the greatest of fools  to think other wise...But one  must feel the   nudge of the other gods..and   i believe, that NAr has taken great interest in this one..

Then , for on brief moment, a cloud seem to pass over the  Priest, but it  vanished   as  fast as it came,..I feel the need to Tell you this... and your  companion here...The biggest thing that may be stole, from any person...great or small...is thier  life.....and? for the most part, it  can never  be returned..The only recourse.... is to take the life of the taker. In this , many of the gods  agree. Its is  simply...the way  things are....some Kill for anger... some for coin...and  even revenge.....none are right, nor are they wrong... once you weight the reasons on a scale.... YOur  Lives in a Companypoints you on a path that will see you emter many a dark Time..never faulter to protect... never feel too great, the sadness,  for your actions...not too much glee...but always..porotect  yourselves..

Cassandra reached with her free hand for the older man, still blushing from Myra's excitement.  "I pray, and yes I do, that Nar indeed has plans for me.  I feel a part of something, and that excites me.  And I promise, I shall be good and protect myself and my fellows, use my skills to benefit them, and remember all you have told me.  I don't know how else I can serve, but if Nar wants me, I am here."

The smile from the priest was one of satisfaction,..Nar rarely calls  on us... it is us, who call upon her, and  help her name  get strength... but when she calls.. it  should never be ignored.... You will serve her best, by serving yourself..and your  Company... I will give you this gift of advice, your  to   hold , or cast off as you see fit...

..there are   as many Thieves guilds as there are towns  to hold them..  Ironmound has   two , that are of note...The Golden horn, is closest to Nar's heart..   some of the Arrows  are members... The Red Blades... are  closer to her Sister Kar.. and still life, almost as much as they still goods...If the time comes for you to choose...choose  wisely
