Re: OOC #2

We have a weird magic system here.

I'll just wait for confirmation on what level spells I can cast. :P

Re: OOC #2

if i have one regret in this  game?.. is not  turning it over  to my system I use  in my ther games.

the spells  would be about the same , ebcaus ei would use them as a foundation.....but  as you build your character, you would   have  and a bit  better of a specializations.

i am 'good'  at  2  and 3..stopped    after   soem FR  books, and said heck with this, I'm gonna  run it my way..they change stuff  to  make money.

My own system would have  ha da Much better  spell -rules, because I would have  understood it  more.. to be truthful, there is  some  'over  advantage '  taken on use of  spells , and I didn't like the  way  D&D  worked. if  we  went  by thier  rules, we  wouldn't have spell caster  very long..and  , lose    characters  every time out.

Re: OOC #2

Well...I believe in one of my 'world' systems it says 'if you do not agree with the ruling or its definition feel free to adjust or ignore it totally.....it is your game after all'.
and in some games on table top we did ignore like level restrictions for race.  We rolled 4d6 (drop the lowest) 12 times, take the best 6 and place as you want.  If you roll all 6's its automatic 19.  we mixed and matched.  it worked though.  of course that particular gm was out to kill us and we knew it.  in one game he hit us with 2 huge 560hp each undead beholders.  damn near got our butts handed to us.  he also used walk through rules when using giants (that killed ssssooooo many of us being swatted by frost giants doing about 40 pt at a time).

Re: OOC #2

in my version of    across breed between " The Fantasy Trip"  and  D&D... I liked    races having things  that  they   did better.. and   the   'bad' things  that went with that..I never liked   " Elves  can't be this"... ect ect.

if it were real Life, and a  Elf  who was  devoted to thier  god, should be a paladin, as with   any other   race. all that kinda  stuff.

Re: OOC #2

That is how we (my table game years ago) felt.  what we did is that if you were a priest or paladin you had to be the same alignment as your god.  so 'paladins' had to go with lawful gods.  So we had evil 'antipaladins' too.  that led to some real fun adventuring scenes.

Re: OOC #2

about the  time  i finished   most of the Michael Moorcock books, the  'Anti- Paladin' was  become a thing.. and    the anti-hero  in movies  were   on the rise...

I have a Vengeful  personality  as  well as    a 'help the underdog' thing...  I molded that into   chaotic  good  people..'end justifies  the  means'..'be the fire, that fights  the fire'

from the Eternal Champions  I  grew to  want to play my characters  in   other games...most were  accepted..more then a  few games  I flat out  , got kicked out..or the  GM  would kill me off....

The best games I was in, were games  that accepted him for what he was  and   RPed it.... you don't like him..fine.. you like him ..again..fine...but there were really great players  that liked him and the RP  bloomed.. there  were  characters  that couldn't stand him, but..after a few adventures/missions  ecte ct.. grew to at elast, trust him, if not  learn to like him.

some folks tried  to kill him off.. and  failed...trhen?.. the Vengeance  thing would come into play  ..where I would post in PM to the  GM.."..he's getting what he paid  for"...

now?.. Killing   a party member that  just tried to kill me.. seemed  fair enough.. some folks didn't like it,,and the RP would reflect this..but.. as  I always  say.." even Bad  RP..is  ...RP "

Re: OOC #2

Wow. Okay, so, on further review I evidently forgot to update my sheet a LOT, and I'm now level 7.

Which means I get that extra attack after all. Excellent.

Level 7 is also when 3rd level spells kick in, if I read the modified spell chart correctly.

Which means we get fun things like magic vestment for defense, prayer as a buff, protection from fire, speak with dead, removing curses and paralysis, negative plane protection if we face undead, dispel magic, and even locate objects.

Funny.

You don’t know the half of it, I updated my post so you can link to the song Orlin was humming.  There was actually a point in our GMs sci fi game where my character said “I have led too many Dwarfs into battle and brothel to believe size matters.”
