Re: MOK

Myranda considered the great bows. The design of these bows is such that construction of others along these lines would reduce the harvesting of precious timbers from the Black and Ironwood.

She thought about it a few silent moments.  "Would be....wiser that instead of the bows being metal that the arrows were.  Much more wood is destroyed or lost from arrows being broken or losr than bows" She gave her opinion.

Re: MOK

I thought of that but it would make them far too heavy to go the distance they do. Unless they are shorter such as those propelled by a crossbow which can be constructed to put greater power in their delivery these also can be loaded using both hands or a pulling device to draw the cord.

By now, Luthien has 'powered down', and seems to be fairly quiet, as if he's recovering from the output of power.

Re: MOK

Feyamir returned to grooming his big bird, before smirking upon hearing Stardancer's comment about broken arrows. He looked at the centaur girl meaningfully in a way that seemed both creepy and friendly. As if he made a cultural gesture with a smile that ... humanoid bodies shouldn't do such grimaces.

Re: MOK

"Unless there is a notch in the bow so the metal arrow fires in straight line with the string, the flexibility of wood is required for the arrow."  He sees people looking at him and wondering why he knows this.  "What, I had a young fletcher lady who pursued me and she loved talking about her work..." he clear his throat and blushes a little "Afterwards."

Re: MOK

It took most of the  night on foot,  for the  group to  reach the Edge of the  Drow's Vale.

Skeletons  of  Sandfolk  and    outlanders   alike   sat against  stone  or were  held  up  by  rusted blades.

 Kree smiles,.... My idea....

Brie and  Inda  stood   near the Mouth of the VAle.....the sky is alight?

Kree nodded  ,..the Pitch worked  rather  well , as  it  combined  with the stroes  they have in the crater...... we  rest until this  time tomorrow.. then we  make for MOK...

..I thought we wer for Home?.. to  seek consul  on this, dark hearts in the trace Arrows?

..aye?  but there is the Matter of the Beggar's  Guild, they are not being run, by those  as they should be... it  is  time...  new leaders were picked...

what good is that?.. they will just pick from  those who are  as bad?

..Nay , Cousin... the survivors  will be much smarter..

The  One armed Drow, Nodded to them,..Come rest.. the  captives  are  resting.. they  have been through alot...

Feyamir followed after Kree, while attending to his giant eagle in the meantime, grooming the creature and checking again for injuries and other things that trouble mortals so.

Re: MOK

She smiles, grateful for the offer of assistance.  Still she merely uses some of her water to wash her wound.  A wound now completely healed, not even the faint pink of a scar left. "Thank you, but the wounds were not deep.  As you can see they have already healed.  I have a very healthy constitution, even by my tribes standards.   Touch if you like, it is not even warm like an infection would have" She recapped her water bladder.  "My wounds were light and have healed quickly.  Perhaps before my arrival one was hurt more seriously" she glanced about I will have to work on getting better barding to cover my rump, I believe.  The leathers I wear are getting well used"

In reply to drow's vale (msg # 967):

Justin greeted the Drow with a friendly smile and wave. Pleased to hear the Drow would be accompanying them to the Black Timber, or High Peaks. Justin wondered if the Drow had decided to do so as an Crimson Arrow, or remain as he was, either way it was suffice to know they were assisting him.

Orlin is really fighting the need for sleep.  Yet he takes the time to address the Drowning before he passes out   “ I think the black timber would suit you best, but being part of our unit might suit you more.”

She smiled politely to the drow.  "If you like...my name is Stardancer" her voice was lilting as she spoke.  "Kree...I understand that we are in a bit of a hurry, but with the sun setting perhaps it would be best to make camp?  Allow some to gain their strength through rest."

"<Sidhelin Elven:You hear her, Swiftwing? You are growing bald in your old age, dear eagle.>"

The redhaired elf glanced at Myranda before his dire eagle gave indignant glare towards the other elf. It was patently obvious that he seemed to tired to really get angry over that. Then he turned towards the young Stardancer and visibly relaxed, admiring the centauress youthful innocence for few moments with a small smile.

That's a no then Cousin. Which is regrettable as it suggests your bird brained mount is not quite as bright as I had thought. I suspect its size and capability compensates for the lack of higher reasoning.

Why Ivy, I'd have thought you'd have come to that realisation years ago. When the sisters are not at play its either Kree or you if he's not about. After all we're all in his charge.  Besides I'd wouldn't classify a oversized chook as new folk... she responds to his wink with a broad grin

Kree's  Voice is ehard  from near the fire  as he helps the   drow  cook,..now matter the   person, who pulls the string..nor the blow  it spirngs from...an Arrow  must always  strike true..
