Some  time, the land s  are too much for  those who  are deposited here... The Rocs  of the  Mountains    have been known  to eat  some of the smaller  dragons..

..The  serpents of the river s  vary in size  from as long as an arrow  to  longer  then some of Ironmound's warships....  They  will feed on each others, but prefer  other    foods...  They are a prized  food for the  wealthy folk.. some fisher men   fish the  River inside    Ironmound, itself?.. a 6  foot  beast could  give a  poor man as much coin as he would see in a month or two.. regular fisher man,  travel the  river.. the serpents  hurt them as they tear the  Nets.. but?.. if they  snag a few, they  will make  more then enough to  replace the nets....

After eating Stardancer offered to help clean the camp up.  As others soon began to doze she waited until there was an offer of a watch.  If not she took the first one, waking another after a few hours.  before she began to sleep she selected an area near the wall of the cave.  She made a large braid in her hair and curled it to one side.  Armor removed she created a shawl like blanket and moved to lay down bracing her human portion against the cave wall.  Her weapons in easy reach incase of a surprise attack, her hair for a pillow.  To a human or a cat it may have looked uncomfortable, to a centaur it was not.  In her homeland it was custom to rest against a tree like such.  She would sleep until awoken by noises or a smell of food.

With morning, Feyamir rose greeting the sun with a gentle smile, while his hands danced in a complicated looking series of gestures. Meanwhile Swiftwing glittered in the sunlight as if it's feathers were covered with something glossy and reflective. The whole ritual took the elf about an hour, and people observing the Giant Eagle carefully could notice that the glittering things on the bird looked as if someone covered it's feathers with invisible but reflective letters of some kind. As if someone wrote abook on Swiftwing's feathers. But as soon as Feyamir ended, the glittery afterglow went away from the bird and it returned to looking normal, if more energetic than before.

With a cry, that certainly was enough to wake up remaining sleepyheads, eagle departed away. While the elf went towards Stardancer and greeted her with a smile and nod, then others including Myranda. But his greeting with the elven lady was just a nod, friendly smile wanishing from his carefully neutral expression like morning mist in the rays of the sun.

OOC: Meditating for an hour to regain 6 Mana. Swiftwing went away to hunt some food for itself, it'll find Feyamir without much trouble ... since Eagle Vision and Familiar Bond.

"Deserts are places were you go to die."
Feyamir remembered his own bad experiences with deserts, and grimaced. Seeing Stardancer gooming her tresses he pulled out a small wooden comb and wordlessly gave it to her. Girl needing it more than him, he can was te Magic on that, after all.
"Stardancer, you will need a lot more water than us. You are bigger, and will sweat a lot more, for starters. I lost my thirtieth and final horse familiar to desert heat. It was ridiculously quick and ugly death. On foot travel ? Half of us will die of thirst or heatstroke. I can pass over it, but only because Swiftwing can fly with one light person, namely only myself or a trusted child. He doesn't trust easily. Even after growing smarter as Familiar. Plus during the day we would hide from the Sun. Still very risky without magic protecting from heat."
He pointed at rangers among them as the people who will survive desert trekking.
"Of course, I know very little of other dangers of the desert."

Feyamir blinked when Stardancer returned his gift, and stood there stupefied with the simple wooden comb laying on his open hand like that. He shook his head and exhaled before turning to the preparations for the desert trip. He readied two waterskins for himself and his eagle, a bigger one. Obviously huffing and puffing, his twiggy frame barely supporting the extra weight.

Since joining the Arrows, Myranda found that sitting around waiting was another part of the things she'd come to know. This was due principally to the fragility of Humans and other similar Humanoid races. To offset this she spent the day with a myriad of preparations.

Pulling his  hood over his head, he  peered  out over the  are towards the crater.. smoke was free to rise now.. Birds  or..some such fliers  were  circling  between the   desert  and the   short grasses, he was not too worried   of  anyone  trying to track them. He was more concerned  about people  comign from Mok.

He poured the rest of his water into Lucy's  cup  and said,..come back in, in a few minutes.. no one is going to dare the ravine in the day... he  he   began his walk back to  Vizzt home.

The elf replied easily from behind his cloaking, but his tone when replying to Niphre remained guarded and carefully neutral. Almost dull. Then he listened on Orlin and Stardancer talking about things and giggled creepily himself.

"I heard a human saying, it's a cute custom of theirs to make up wisely sounding phrases, that states that two men can keep a secret. If one of them is dead. Idle curiosity is not necessarily a valid reason to pester someone about things they believe important. Are we ready to depart?"

Feyamir commented idly when the Arrows began bickering. Then he walked towards Kree and asked the elven ranger without blinking his creepily yellow eyes.
"Are we ready to depart? Did we not forget anything? Will doing the assassinations, and risking dying in failure, is necessary for the cause you spoke of before?"

Then he turned his eye towards Myranda and smirked at the knight-cleric.
"Best questions, when you pester someone. Are those that can be answered with one word. Usually it's begone, but can be yes or no as well. I remember at least once being shot at, as an asnwer ... but it was educational answer anyway. Over reliance on scraps from gods, leads to mental laziness."

as they traveled, the   walls of  Mok began to  become outlined  in the light of the Sister Moons .Torch lights   from the Parapets  flickered

Kree    made his way  back to the Middle of the  Group and said,..They should not know  we are coming, unless  they have been on the lookout  for us, since one of our group retruned  Keep your  weapons ready..but not drawn... pass the  Word  Along.

He GAve  two sharp whistles towards Ivy.. Who merely signaled with a raised  bow and went back to looking like a   tired   rider.

The   City was  well within sight now.. the stream of camels  began to converge.. the guards  at the entrance to the side stepped forward, Crossing thier   Pikes.

..who is the kleader of this rabble?... why have you come, so late?

Kree  slips off his camel , his hood  still drawn, the flickering torch light of the gate  does little to  show his face,

..we have come across those who needed aid... we could have  stopped at the merchant... but felt  our coin is not think enough to cover both  areas, and chose to spend them in the city... these folk, who need  aid, will be taken  to the Dicks, to try and get passage   up0 river to the Grasslands..

Motioning to the camels with one arm,we have rented these  fine animals from the   keeper  inside the  gate , just here... we would like to return them as well, for they have served   very well...but...have  no use on a ship.

..Very well... have  the  weak ones  ride to the   docks, get them through the city before   they sicken others...

..I did not say they were  sick?

The Guard looked  worried,..it is an Assumption on my part... um...ahhh... most folk from the sands  who are weary have gotten parasites  or sickness from odd creatures...

Kree nodded, but the man could not see his frown,..yu have heard  him.... everyone dismount, ,save for  those who are weary.... Those who9 are to take them to the docks.. lead  the camels  through the  maze of streets....those who are staying with be, to return the Cmrls and...collect... on payment.. aid me with the extra  camels...

Though large, Stardancer followed quietly after she tied a large knot in her tail to keep it from dragging in the filthy waters.  Hopefully her clip-clop gate might be mistaken for a cart hauler.  Her weapon ready as she moved.  Padding by there were obvious small side tunnels up high.  Apparently for water run off and such.  Still they would make fine bolt holes and areas to hide and come from behind.  At her height she could make that less of a hazard.

Kree  stands   at the fork, he looks at Fey and simply says..Being  an Arrow, is  all about, changing on the Fly... If your  Bird  dievs  down on a Rabbit, and the rabbit  runs  another ddirection,,, Doe yu bird   simply...smack into the ground?.. I sought, simply  to remove  the  Merchant Lords Puppets from the Guild leadership, thus, free the normal folk from  looking over the  shoulders  at every  turn, wondering if a Beggar was an honest  beggar, or  an Ear  for the Merchant  Lodes.

..But Mok...as a whole are  not friends of Ironmound..and the Elevs of  the Trace  wood  suffer more then those of My people, because they are closer to the problem.....Should  we be  able to cause  a great deal  damage, and maybe kill a few of the Merchant Lords.. there  will be Chaos,  and   The  Red Elves, Catfolk, Red Isle Halflings..we either have to leave Mok to  reorder thier own house... or  bring people in to help..If that  where  to Happen,  out Allies   would begin to pay more attention to Mok, rather then  wave them off, as  some  camel humping sand crawlers

...so?  we are about to head to the Merchant Lords Quarter.. and see what damage that can be done... from what little I noticed, the Merchant lords worry about keeping the rabble out of thier gates, but  fail to understand  what damage  could  come  from below..Tar for  ships and Rigging..oils  for lamps and  cookign Lots   of parchment and from trees..woods , tabkles and Doors of Polished  wood with oils that will but as good  as  any other.

He smiles a  grim smile,..this  could be the Day,  The Merchant Lords  fall?.. because, what  working   person, or poor  person, is goign to rush  through the very gates, that they are kept away from, by spear point...

He sighs a bit, his smile fades,..it could also be, that the Mechant Lords  Quarter, is not any differant then the poor  folk.. then, we will merely have to settle for dropping  a few  well dressed bodies.

Kree eyes    Look at the  Arrows,..Thos e who have Fear..or? Think this is  folly, You may  return to the Ship...any one who wishes  to come with me,  should follow..... regardless  of how this turns out, we will have to leave the way we came in..exit the  back Gate, and head to the shore line, where we can  either head  north... or   south, back to the boars..if  we head  North.. we will have to continue  until  such tie, as  we  find a  ship that will take us back down river to the  Black Timber

..Inda?.. You will go with those  who  are leaving.

..Nay, I will not... I will show you the  way  to the merchant's  Quarter...

Kree nods to her, then nods to the Others, and begins  to  head down the branch  Inda leads..  Ivy, chuckles...and Follows...

Khovar came to an area when he heard faint voices. He moved towards the edge of the light. He seen the one called Kree who he was told would be here.

Khovar cleared his throat and spoke with a bit of mischief in his voice."Oi, it be good I be friendly. Lady Brie sent me in da help ya. What be we be gettin in ta?"

The elf smiled, just a bit.....thank you.. you can go to the Docks now...

she shook her head,..no..i want to help...If  I am to be an Arrow.. is should help...

Ivy  appeared behind them, he looked at Kree and shrugged,..cannot be  worse then what she went through...

He waved     the Others  close to the steps,alright.... this grating is near the  Refuse of  either  a merchant lords  home or an Inn of sometype. there  are only a few people on the streets.. i think they may be doing business..of sorts..

I am Going to take  Inda  to the right.. we are going to look for  something to set afire, that will also  catch buildings and such... Ivy is going to stay by the grating to help keep it  open for  our escape...or to aid  someone he sees …. I need  some of you to go across the street..there is a  Merchant's  shop with Barrels..it maybe  Pitch..it may be spirits..it may jusy be barrels?.. either way..they will burn...Then.. some of you go to the left..and seek out the  same...If you are  stopped  by guards  with Silver  decorations  on thier Helps, feel free to kill them...gather  what coin or Good  you find, but, do not let that  cost you  , your life...

there is  a Gate  at the far  right..and one to the far  right.. the left gate leads to the city.. I am unsure where the  right gate goes...

Inda  speaks up,..there is a   channel there, from the   River to the base of the  city..The Merchant Lords warship is there...they use  it  to  'gather goods' from smaller ship.. they sail it  two times a month, when there are no moons...

 is it there now?

..I do not know... we woud ahve to go out  and see.. they  use   slaves to  pull the ship in to make  repairs and portect it  from the  weather..and   then warp it out using  rowboats... I saw it on the river..it his  a beautiful ship.....3  decks.. three masts..

Lucy, for one was glad to he out of the sewers.  The foul smells had messed hadly with her ability to smell anything more then shit.

The relatively clean air hit her like a proverbial ton of bricks, causing her to pause for several long moments, to reorient herself to the new smells.

"Aye boss." She said with a nod to Kree's orders.  Finding something to burn seemed like a rather easy task.  Although, killing city guards also seemed appealing.  Perhaps she could get in a bit of hunting.

She moved across the street, and was soon lost in the shadows.  She began moving down the block.

Large as she was, one of the best things she could help with was to be for better or worse was, a target.  If they came after her then the others could attack more freely.  Atleast at first. She also made aggressive moves to get the attention of the guards attacking rather than Kree and others.  If they used missile weapons she would dodge and evade them.

Stardancer sheathed her sword and reached for her bow and readied an arrow to fire quickly.  Then retrieved one of her flasks that held oil.  She loosened the stopper, but did not completely open it.  With her strength the throw would go far to reach that ship and high.  She aimed for the higher part of the mast and rearing up hurled it so.  Before her hooves would strike earth again she brought up her bow and arrow and aimed at the flask, to pin it leaking to the main mast.  There leaking oil would catch aflame and climb quickly.  She then notched another arrow for the ready.

Fires  were raging  in the  merchant Quarter.. screams of trapped  people in the houses.. animals  crying out and shouts  for help...

the gates to the 'poor' section of the city were opened , with armed guards   trying to rouse  people to help...the  mainline Merchants, just refused to answer the door.. some  called out,"..Tell them ta  use the gold they  took off my dinner  table, to fight the fire!"

The normal troops that  guarded the  main part of the City were being   called to  help  fight the Fires..

at The Far end  of the Town, the CAmel renter sat in his  tent.. watching the   orange-red  light begin to grow  and the  thick smoke  gather..The  Puffed on his  water  pipe and Noted the fires  were far  from his   area of the city...he also noted the thick column of  smoke  rising from, behind the North west wall... and smiled.

The  Jolly Boat had  a Dwarf  and three  humans  at the oars, a   boradshoulder Northwoman was at the   rudder.

 ..Get yourselves in!...

Niphre  was on in the  boat, a  second  boat was  pulling hard  and fast towards the Docks... the river  was  showing signs of the Serpents ..maybe  agitated  as they saw the Flames ..knowing   that  that mean possible  food...

By now   a Bell wa s  ringing  and the MAin Gates were closing as if they thought there was  an attack.. Ivy   ran with Inda to  move the  group  Along.. Kree  held  rear  Guard and  took  his tie   to send  a Shaft  Upwards  into teh Should  of  a  MAn looking out  at the  burning vessel.

The elf  ws not happy... they did nothing for the  Beggars guild... troops  would be moving  into teh sewers, sicne that is  where they would  have been seen coming from.... The fire was a bigger  success..., but there was a damnably good  chance,  they didn't kill anyone of   importance...maybe  , if they could have moved deeper...

he shrugged...the only real prize of the night was the Burning ship.., known as the terror on the LAther River.. She wouldn't harm  anyone else   for a long time...if  ..ever..

Thinking about it Stardancer could help the as well.  They about had her above the railing to swing her over.  She pulled her own rope out and as she moved a large strand of her hair fell across her face and eyes. Needing to see she moved her hair with the hand that had the rope as she still grasped the netting with the other .  Passing the rope through the open netting she fiddles with it a moment, after poking both arms through of course and she twirls it like a lasso.  Finally letting the end be tossed to the mainsail mast.  It catches solid and she tugged with her strength and easily pulled herself from over water to over the deck. The arm moved quickly as well and now she could be lowered to the deck. Puling it back through the netting to herself she whispered to herself

The ship was  moving well  upstream towards the Black Timber ..On the  wind, there was the smell of Burning Horse flesh  and Cattle, as the  fires   reached the  stables if the Merchant Quarter...screams, though  faint,, could be heard from  those who had been surprised , to trapped by the  flames..

the  growing  light  to the Northeast, did little to hide the    Bright lights of the western part of the City,, and  light up the  cleft  between the hills where the  River Demon once rested.

Kree stood at the stern railing  and watched.. Ivy  came up and grinned as he rested a   foot on the railing and used it to support his  elbow, that supported the hand...that supported his chin.

The Dwarven Captain  came up to them,,,that's a Mighty big  fire...The  rest of the city..iffin they'er  smart  will mark sure to watch for sparks and such.. but those  Big walls the Merchant Lord   had to separate   the poor  folk..might  have  done them in..

Kree Nodded   with a half smile, If that fire  HAppened  at the Palace in Ironmound.. every  citizen  would  be runnign to put it out... there may be soe grumbling about   Emperor  Lod? But he makes sure  his ...'normal folks' are taken care of...If that fire happened in  Razorhawk Village,,,  there would  even be sone animals that  tried to help... because they know what  we stand  for...There.. Teh Merchant Lords  treated the poor and working folks like slaves, while  they dinned on the finest.. I don't think there  will be many folks  from the  rest of teh town, in a hurry to put out the flames.

The fire    is, killing and maiming alot of people... and, because  of the  walls they use... they  are now in an oven... with little or no chance of the poor  folks  bothering to aid them... the cost in lives  and  Coin will be great...but..as with all vermin.. some will survive...we  may have  inadvertently , started  a  war..if they  can prove  were  we came  from.

..our host here, says the ship we  destroyed..  has  ravaged the  River  for years... that means, Mok  won't be able to force trade.

He  shouldered  his bow  as he said,..the sad  turn of  events, is , if they have someone smart enough to  check the grating  we entered by, they will go into the  sewers  and   question the  Beggars.. if some one saw  us.. they will be gin to try to figure out who we  were... if they do not believe the beggars guild,  there were  be   a lot  of dead beggars...

Ivy  shrugged..you can make a pie, unless you roll out the dough.... if they are foolish enough to  slaughter baggers. Mok may be  in Civil war.. if that happens.. no one  will  have to worry much about Mok for a long time

as the  tables   we  set, and Justin    provided the  Food... Myra  had    Jolly boats   take    feasts  to   the other  two  ships.

People  ate  and  Drank, the   crew  used  squeeze boxes  and   pipes  and   fiddles to provide  entertainment

Talk centered  around Mok and  what might  happen  with this   attack.

Kree  made  it certain, that  he was no politician, but..  Mok  could   declare a war, if they were   willing  enough... That would change the   river traffic  on the LAther  river..  as , both side s would be  attacking trade  and warships  to the North  and one the Sea, while  anyone comign past Ironmound would have to  deal with  small baors   swarming them and  Fire  arrows  buring them to the water Line .

..if you  find  our ship, that we  took from teh slavers?.. You could add that  to yur little flotilla here  and   either  Serve  the  Empire?..or  get a letter  of marque from them.. Patrols to stop  Cat Folk and Sand folk   coming  across of Rats  and  such. woudl be needed as well..If Mok does declare  War.. it would  take , less then a Month, for Ironmou7nd  regulars   to   march to teh river... and invade... so? I  don't know how much in a hurry they would be to do that...

Myranda helped the Roller with the Healing. Hearing the sailors question she considered the question then responded before Justin had an opportunity.

There be many things to consider in this situation.
Such as how deserving of assistance each of those in Mok were; would it be fitting to save one who has evil coursing through them;
Who if any their Patron Deity was;
If The Sisters blessings were in answer to those who sought their assistance; if so who specifically was asking.

For example I suspect some of the Slaves held by the Merchant Lords sought vengeance or justice against those who persecute them.

Those are all interesting concepts, Mistress. In the hope of addressing your questions The Sisters have a their own Goals. These are guided via different processes or conditions such as subtle application or direct intervention.

For example Several of the Arrows are followers of the Sisters, or in some instances one of the Sisters. We are more likely to be used as vessels for their Will.

Suggesting that .. luck, effects everyone .. everything?... isn't quite accurate your comments such as a Mouse escaping a Cat... an arrow hitting a chain lick instead of your chest... a stumble from an enemy that lets your blade take them?

Neglect to factor other Divine Goals such as those of Harg, Mina, Nin, Tra, Trall to name a few. Each have their own influence in the outcomes of life

These are not whimsical... Rather the means by which the Divine choose to aid... or hamper? is only revealed to those they deem worthy.

After listening she spoke quietly, not whispering, just in a soft spoken voice "Gods have thier own agendas.  For good or ill.  Occassionally I have found they interact with us if it is in thir interest to do so.  Near my home land was a temple of a roaming tribe of humans.  It was guarded by many gates.  the first was 6 statues of 6 diferent gods.  We had to make an offering to pass.  Those who failed to give a proper tribute recieved a horrible fate, if accepted a prize or boon.  Many offered fire and fuel to Agni, the bringer of fire.  Water to Waruna of the ocean and seas.  Even slaves were to give a tribute.  Many gave to Ilmater, the broken god of a single drop of blood.  I gave to Jizana the very shirt I made and wore.  She values good fortune through hard work.  My mastered offered gold."  she stopped for a moment "For most nothing happened.  When Jizana saw the work I was putting into the shirt she mad it magical for me alone.  A voice of kindness spoke in my mind saying my work was masterful.  When My master offered gold it was not accepted.  A booming voice had said his heart had hardened and he knew no trrue meaning to give.  They turned him into a spider, condemned to live in a thorny berry bush for a year and a day.  It also freed another who was given the shape of a magpie bird.  upon his freedom we became friends until foul magics struck him down" She toyed with the braid in her hair that held several black feathers as if to convey meaning.

Be Right Nice, ifin ye'd  drop a word to them , that's in charge of the Empire's  NAvy, and HAve  some  ships   goin' up and  down the LAther?   open up Good    trade fer you folks  at that LAndin' ?.. with ships  no afeared  of  comin'  up the Lather  to reach a Market space... ye  might   even  start a  small town  there?.. to  have a  trade town...

..I will mention that to the Elders when  we  reach RAzorhawk Village we have  enough  humans, dwarves and   others, who are not as tied to the forest? They may be , right  eager, to set up such a town.

The Dwarf  winks,..if yer  smart.. ye make it a port o' Call... sell provisions for   ships... come Inns  and entertainment It could be an Elven version of Mok...

Kree    Pats the Dwarf on the shoulder,..If  a Town like that arises it  will not be pure  Elven..it will be    folks who were recused  from  the slavers, and hed no where else to go, and settled into the  Timber... which.. along those lines.. we  will ahve to  have troops  to   watch over it, Sand Folk and Cat  folks cross  The LAther  all the Time..be nice  if  we make the have to   Corss on the souther   end of The Timber.. let them work thier  way through   the MArshes   with the Forest Runners..

Kree  leaned o the railing   can  spoke,Cat folk are hunters.. but  most have lost thier  way.... there are many types... large breeds  and small., some  are Honorable, even if they are  dark...some cannot  be trusted  to say thier  name with out  falsehood.... Lucky is born from thie r  gathering of  slaves, and elven Mother  and Cat folk  father..when I was a Lad, they  would raid... mostly for  slaves and food... which you became?  was  really up to them... Then they  found out slaves  were a very good investment... taking  folks  down to Olant, where they  would be  sold the HArgen, red elves, Red Isle Halflings..or?    holy folks who need  sacrifices….

Thus started  a deep HAte  between    Elves and Cat folk...Though you see all manner  of people in Ironmound... they are  watched....

..The sand Folk are cowars at heart.. they take  slaves,  attack caravans and..are at best.. dishonest traders...thierwokign with silver and gold is  unmatched, even among my people.. and thier  worj  with Clamsport steel, make  blades that   are as beautiful as they are deadly..merchant caravans   with   warriros  to  protect them, are permitted to roam out lands, as  the trade they bring , does  help both sides.... But  Sandfolk  will never  be permitted  into the Black timber  as it was such a caravan, led  by a halfing, that attacked   my very  Village, takign many of  ourt people away..and...in an indirect   outcoe, birthed the Crimson  Arrows  and   also  'The Black  Hunt'.

Re: MOK  #2

Kree looked  at Justin  as   Ivy looked then looked away.  Kree's  eyes  looked at the others    as he began,

I*by and I were..less then focused  on the Lives of the Black Timber.. we would do our turns  as   patrols,  goign through training for  the  Army-such as it is....and Warden  Training... My Mother was  a Warden  as  was  my sister.... My FAther  was the CAptain of Razorhawk  Company of   troops and  archers    that would   be called to  defend the Timber..or...if needs  be , go to the  aid  of the High Peak  Dwarves, Trace Wood  Elves..and , of  Course Ironmound.....we , of  course  would  aid the other  Towns   Trok and Bowshot to be sure.. Tou, only because our  treaty demands it.. they are rather, unwelcoming of elves, unless they are being attacked, then we are quite, welcome.

We  did  find  , Much pleasure  in  runnign the streets of Ironmound. we volunteered  as  caravan  guards   any chance   we had... Ivy, was, and is, more  skilled in the towns then  I...

..Kree..is better  in the  wilds, but  we  both  are good enough, to get the job  done, in either instance..

... A Halfling... and it  did not look like a Red Isle HAlfling..he was shorter...and did not where boots, Like the Red Isle  HAlfings  do.... was a scout  hired  by Caravans that either  came up the Tou  river, and  would come to the Timber....or,,, ford the Lather River  and  be led into the Forest for trade..Right before  Autumn Fest.... Ivy and   I went to Tou  to  get supplies and..of  course.. sample the local entertainment...and..perhaps , come away   with more coin then we had  entered with... Our Mentor, in the ways of the streets...a Gnome, named   Snapjack Ribbons...knew his craft well..but he stayed  in the Timber, to help with the Fest...

The 'Trusted' Halfling, who ha d led  many a caravan, through many  seasons... led a group or  slavers in, who had  Killed the caravan people, and   used thier  wagons to cover thier  entry..

Ivy handed     Kree   a mug of  wine , which he downed  in a Gulp  and  the cousin went to refill it.

..Ivy and I were late... we  stayed  a night longer inTou.. and  were making out  way back the next  night... there was smoke  coming from the  tops of the Ironwood  trees...that is somehting  one does  not see in the timber...they   we saw  some  people  break from the trees.. mostly   women folk, clutching  a Child....Then we saw them... Three SAndfolk  with thier heads  wrapped, Two Catfolk, bounding out of the trees..  we Killed one of the  SAndfolk and a CAtfolk  as  we ran into the forest... screams  of fear , shouts  of  anger, and barks of   Orders    grew  as  we   near our  Village.. the  bright lights of burning huts  and houses  .. a light never seen before, since Ironmound tried to lay siege to the Timber...but?.. we were LAte.... the Slavers had escaped...they had  taken scores  of out people prisoner...and killed scores  more... Timber Home... that lies further  down the  forest.. sent   Wardens and  troops to help, but  they only saved  a few,, and killed fewer of the   enemies...

when it was over?... I found  my Father   standing ove rmy Mother..she had taken  6 arrows  before  she fell...at her  feet, was Snapjack, His  long knifes  blood to  his  elbows.. and  8  enemy bodies  aroudn them... At the steps to my house... Ivy's  lady  lay  with two crossbow  bolts in her back... she...was also....expecting...

Ivy  had  truned away at this   and looked over the starboard rails  at the water.

..my sister  was wounded  and TAken... My FAther, has  not   yet forgiven Ivy and Myself, for  not being there?....

..The Three Elders   called  all those  who were  still in the Village, and offered the task to those  from Timber Home  as well...The Black Hunt was to start....

He   Took another  Mug of  wine from  one of the  sailor who was listening with rapt attention  The Black Hunt is a pledge.... where  warriros   will  take up the Hunt for someone..or something that  has  caused harm to our people, or  The  Timber...13 people step up....they must slay 13 of  our  enemies...or..save  13  of those who were taken....of thsoe  13 who started the Hunt...only Ivy and myself  still hunt... there are two in Timber home that  quit after  handing in thier  proof  of the HUnt..the  rest were slain...

Ivy   , still looking at the water, we save, but two... we have  killed   doz3ens of CAtfolk...and  scores of sandfolk, and we  will continue to do so...

In the meantime?... Razorhawk Village started  the Mercenary group called the Arrows... it was a way to  have  people we trusted, bring in  caravans   and escort our own, since, most folk fear to  come into The Timber....  Ivy and I  stayed in Ironmound  for  close to 10 years... I joined the Guard. he joined the  Golden Horn Thieves guild... I became  CAptain of the palace  guard..he became a Trust Lt  in the Horn... I left the guiard, when i saw, people getting  spots because  they had  Coin....The Emperor  still calls  on  us..when he needs something..'taken care  of'..  he snorted.

a friend of ours , Reedrick Orebender, a High Peaks Dwarf... met up with us, and we started   a  Arrow   Company, in Ironmound.. we bought an old beat up Inn, and  refurbished it... it is now  our Headquarters in teh City..some of youy, have seen it....We  changed the  name to Crimson Arrows... with the  motto  of  'be the fire, that fights the fire"... there  is nothing...NOTHING....too harsh to do unto those, who have  done unto us...when we are able?.. we  carry the Black arrows  with the Red Fletchings... when we  stake slavers   and other  such enemies to trees.. we might leave  a broken shaft in them, so  others  will know... or?  I  will harve the rune for my name  in thier  forehead...

..as to finsih   Justin's question..we have  yet to find the HAlfling...if  we do..it will take him , many months to die..... we have only found the Body  my sister...but we did  find the Home of the  Slave Master, who lives  well past Olant, down river... he has....had.... a compound..at least 30 slaves, of many races... what was most sickening, was  the dozen or  so Slaves who wore  Gold collars, and served him as  his house guard... Iby. me..Reedrick and a half  full or Crimson Arrows  went in.. we free the  slaves.. some came  back to live in the timber... dwarves, humans..Elves  from many clans....

for a purse of gold, a pack of goblins  aided us...they are a strange folk, , but those who run businesses..seem to be worried more about  Coin, and less about eating  folks....

..at elast  half the gold collar slaves  were killed in the  fight.. the other Half, we hung from thsoe   collars, as  slaver friends....Then,,  we brought the Slave master  out... his  wife, and two daughters... his  daughters.. were very pretty..one was to be married to a Merchant  Lord  in Hargen..... we  truned the women over to the  Goblins, and made the   Slave MAster  watch... all the  time, explainignto him,  this was the  things  that happened to slaves...

..the younger  daughter..was...somewhat  spared, in that she ws not eaten, after wards... Then.. we handed the Slave Master over to the  Goblins...you see?.. they had thier  raw  meat...not they wanted somehting  ....cooked....

Ivy  spoke from the railing.....they  tied him over   a camp  fire and roasted him alive, like the pig he was......

..when the   fellows stopped  screaming... we told the Goblins  to deliver the Young Daughter, over the  mountains  to  the first HArgen troops they came upon..with  the Ring from the   older sister, and a Note  from me.... I claimed everything that happen.. Ivy insisted  on signing it as well.... There was a description. Of  what had  happened... and that  the next slavers  we caught, would not  be treated with  as much mercy as we did them....

..Hargen sent   unit  of rangrs and  troops to  find the Goblins... they attacked thier Village,  and the High peak dwarves helped to  Kill off  all but three of the  raiders.....but the Goblins suffered  for thier aid.....so?  those goblins  now, live at the end of  Black Timber...close  to the  River.. they run a small  ferry service   where the Tou  Meets   the Storm.....they will still kill and  eat Humans, of course..but have  refined thier meals to slavers and pirates.... sometimes?.. good people will attack them, and then they suffer the same fate...but the Goblins  have been of great aid to us... they are  , our  eyes  in the river  and in the swamp...

and that..My friends... is the  story of the Crimson Arrows...we are as dsark  as the  Evil we hunt...and..thatv is what scares them.

Turning to Khovar,..Reedrick's  FAther  lead  the High Peak Dwarves  from the   Fur Man's Chain and beyond, to   fight   with us  as  Ironmond  try  to take our trees  by force... The Ironwood  Elves  stood  with the Empire, as they had  sold off , most of thier  Ironwood  and Black walnut... The trace Eles   stood with as  well.. There  was  One   sacvage Battle outside  of Tou....Our People won..and since that  time, the Highpeaks, Black Timber and Trace Wood are  as brothers...

The Dwarves of    the  Mound, in Iron mound.. treat us less friendly...though they do still hold repect for the cousins  from the High Peaks.. there is a  road way, under the  earth..inder the Storm herself... the   High peak Dwarves  patrol on thier side.. the Mound Dwarves    on the City  side..there  are always beasts. Drow, dark  dwarves  and  dark elves  that  attack caravans   and the   towns under  the   ground..so they  both have thier own plates to clean.

The   other  two ships    moves  into the deep  part of the river  to help cover   Bronzefist's  ship  as they  came into  the  shallows … The railing  gates  opened up, running out  the   gangway   to the    shore.

The  Arrows   marched  down  the  plank, keeping an  eye on Stardancer as she   wade her  way down...there was a  wore. cart path that led to  the MAssive  Ironwood   and Black walnut trees... we will not  stop to eat.. we  will make  time to reach the  forest's  edge.. we wil have plenty of tiem to eat once  we   reach  The  Village..

Waving to the Merchant  ships who were coming   about to  head back up towards  Mok..perhaps to Val..or the   ocean

Two hours  into thier    trek towards  the  Forest..  They noted    a number  of  Horse  coming, a few  with  riders..

Wardens... and Mounts.... Ivy called out.

Stardancer was cautious leaving the ship.  She waved to those aboard with kind and wide smile.  Then she trotted a bit, keeping pace as well.  Her acute hearing picked up on the hooves of horses, soon she could hear whinnies and nickering as well.  She strained to listen to thier conversations about thier riders.

Diana was glad to finally set foot on dry land.  She didn't do seasick, but all the  same was very glad to be on dry land.

At the call of Riders and Mounts, she took her position at the front of the group, hand on her blade, just incase anyone was really that stupid enough to try anything.

Then again, it was always better to be cautious then caught off guard.

Lucy had slept most of the trip.  She had found a place off to herself, and, like a cat, had curled up and simply gone to sleep.  She had awoken a few times to someone coming close to her (even asleep, she was alert) but then went back to sleep.

When the ship pulled into port, she awoke again.  She yawned, stretched and was glad to see dry land.

She walked down the plank, looking around, happy to be actually stepping on dry land.

At the call of riders and horses, she took up position on the right flank of the group, hand on blade, ready should anyone pull a fast one.

Although, she certainly would wait for orders from Captain Kree.

Orlin would see Justins judgmental look and not care.  The armor was likely pressing down on his good sense if he didn't know the difference between not believing in gods and not following a specific one.  Frnkly, if a God threw in with him he wouldn't mind giving help back.

He did listen to the Elves storie.  It gave a lot of insight into the leader.
