Armed warriors? Well, that would be trouble. She watched Justin and Kree ride off with two others and returned to work.

"Well atleast that timber is in place perhaps there, behind the rubble of that wall might be advantageous?" she pointed to an area that stones had fallen.  "Good view, ammo if we need it and a bit of wall for protection.  We can be setting up just in case" to her hurling a 10 pound rock would be rather easy and hurt them like hell if they were hit.

MERCHANT'S LANDING

“If it helps get dinner sooner, I’m the right man for the job.”
Jason drew a short throwing dagger beautifully engraved with Celtic lines and the symbol of the sisters. He tossed it up in the air and it quickly stabbed itself into a potato that Myranda had already prepared, as if the knife had a mind of its own.

“So, Myranda, this is the part where we trade backstories, is it not?”

MERCHANT'S LANDING

Kree stood  Just a Bit  BAck to   Brightleaf  and   Hammerhilt, this was thier show...for now.

The  Riders   came up with a Captain with a  Horsehair  Plume  on his helmet
.  I need  two thing s   from you.. I need to know what the meaning of this  fortification is.. and I have  Come for Captain  Quickshadow

Kree chuckled  at this  as he   stood  behind the others.

..This  our , our lands.. we will build  what  we please... but to answer your   question, we  are protecting  the New   Merchant's  landing  from the Lather  River...

As  For the Captain.. he will not be going with you...

..Ye Humans are from Tou?.. Mind yer business.. you never had  much truck with  us   before.. we dunna need  ya  here  now..

..Fortifications  are not permitted  on  Empire  soil with out an OK from the Crown...

Kree  stepped up,..good thing this isn't   Empire  Soil, It  is Timber spoil fro   50  miles  outside the   further most tree...As  for me goign to  Ironmound.. I told your  Lacky   I will  report, after My Mission is done..now?... If you wish to make an issue of that,  I will Gladly  whittle  away  your people.. we can use more horses...

..you would risk  war  with the Crown, over some  sell sword Mission...

i'm not   risking a  Thing?.. You'll all be dead, You will have tresspassed  on   Timber  Lands.. and threatened Us... I If you have any doubt  about my  word, I should kill you know , at the Insult

The Captain  looked  down from His    Horse .. You  thing  some    workmen  and such could defeat a squardon of Tou Calvary ?

..I think  some old  goblins  with slingshot s  could   take you?.. My Father was there, when Tou tried to help the Empire  take our  trees.. How many Tou  Horse men made it back that day? One young one..a standard bearer, that the Good   dwarves  seen fit to send  back with a message... be Gone.. or be  dead..

The Horseman  loked  at the Elf.. neither or  the  leaders  seemed to take issue  of what he  said...

Brightleaf  raised    One  arm, and  dropped it.. a single  arrow  came   from the grasslands     and landed at the foot  of   the     rider to the  left...

wardens in the trees.. their arrow s  carry very far... and Human Longbow men, in the grasses.... dwarven crossbow  men scattered about..

..and  a Unit of arrows .. so?.. I think its   time you left...do not  return, unless  you have a flag of  truce.. or you are escorting  Merchants..but i should warn you.. we will  barter  with our customers, before   we  see what goods   they have to sell..or  want to by.... We  don't  forget how Tou  has treated us.. it would be good if you did not  either..

..we go then.. and I will send  a rider to the Crown...

..you  do that?..  and I will tell them how your  people dared to  cross on to our lands  without leave.. should be interesting, don't you think?

..You and I  will meet on the field of Honor, in Ironmound.. Quickshadow....

..and who is it, that i am going to kill?

..I am Captain Flagrand..or the House.,..

..I do not care  about  some   pumped up  House... Just make sure you are in the  Palace  when we  arrive... and   we'll  finish this  in the training  fields..well.. I will finish it..

The riders  turned   and rode  hard to thier Camp..

Shadow looked ta  Greenleaf.....how many archers..

Brightleaf  smiled,..Six  wardens   high in the trees.. 4 Longbow men.. and   2  dwarves...

Kree laughed, Send   two   runners... one to   Razorhawk Village , one  to  Timberhome.. Tell them   to   set archers   and maybe  send  some  more to help  guard the Settlement..

The walked  back to the  walls   Kree put his   bow  by his armor and Pack, and  went back to work

Myranda chuckled at Jasons enthusiasm and actions. As you can see Master Penny the potatoes have no need of peeling for now. However you may get an opportunity to do so at a later time. As for back stories do you think you there's time as mine spans the better part of a handfull of decades.

"Usually on my belly.  Our torsos  and such we prop near a wall, one another, or a large log.  To keep it above our bellies.  otherwise, our digestive tract gets  a bit 'bent.  We can get gassy, belchy, or at worst out intestines can become twisted." she said.  "When we were in the desert you saw how I slept"she smiled as she reminded him.  "If we sleep on our sides it is very difficult.  That can put pressure on many of our organs and lead to many problems."

Jason nodded, “With an introduction like that, I’m all ears!”

He flicked his right hand and the knife shot itself back at him, bringing the potato along. He took a bite of tater and smiled, “Woooo! This...is delicious! But surely you’ve spent your time doing more than learning how to make magic ‘tatoes!”

Kree smiled  at Justin   as  he lossened his   shirt  to  work again,.. Tou is   worried .. we  won't need them any more.. so  they will not get our goods  for  cheap any longer.. they will have   to pay higher  prices to out bid those who are using  Merchant's Landing...... and?  they will have to come to us?... we need not even travel through Tou  any longer .. we  can ride  the  river to   The trace wood  and travel through  friendly trees.. or?.. go  south  west and use the Goblin Ferry  and   come through Bowshot... Tou  will have to Via with Trok  now?.. and Trok  will reap the  rewards form  caravans  who   come to   The trace wood  and  work down to   Ironmound.. as well as  people North and eat, Coming from trok  as they travel  and Going to both Ironmound  and  The traxce.

..Tou may not  be able to  afford the Great Mages  Guild.. they  may lose  folks  because they cannot  pay   them to stay .

Jason nodded, he had expected the rebuttal as soon as the word “ears” left his lips. “You see, even with your decades of decadent deeds, you have never seen or heard of the wonders I can show to you. Ears, covering every inch of a man, much like a beholder. Terrible and fascinating.” He waved his hands around in big circles, potato in one hand, knife in the other.

“Thank you.” He appreciated the compliment and hoped she wasn’t kidding. “I think I understand, holy roller is it? Forgive me, I could always use more training. “

Though he had been in Mok for 5 years, he never picked up much in language differences. From his place beyond the mist everyone spoke quite formally. Even his banter now would never go over at home.

"Yeah, sure. We could all use a bit more holiness right? I'll talk to Justin more about it later." It was a bluff. Jason had a long list of dirty deeds to be done before he would worry about his soul.

"...Unless that was your suggestion for me to go bother someone else?"
