MERCHANT'S LANDING

Tall and strong Stardancer helped quite easily repair and construct walls.  A few times relieving tired teams of horses to pull a load of large and strong timbers, even at going so far as to hoist a large timber brace well over her head to place it securely for the folk there.  "This should hold for quite a while.  As thick as it is it would not break easily." she smiled then took a swig of fresh water.  There was another, this one even larger.  "Orlin?  How is your strength?  I am sure between the two of us this very large beam can be hoisted up and into place,  Perhaps with a little help from a block and tackle" knowing she could lift it is easy, but it was rather bulky that for safety should be lifted by atleast 2 strong beings.

Setting up a space for the settlers to eat Myranda watched the different teams hauling, lifting and fitting tree trunks. Stardancer's enticement of Orlin prompted a slight chuckle along with a slight head shake.

Jason watched in awe as Stardancer worked. He had done a great job of avoiding breaking a sweat, but he wasn’t allergic to hard work, he just worked smarter. No sense doing the heavy lifting when there were people much stronger than he.

Myranda’s chuckle caught his attention.

“Hello. I don’t believe I have had the pleasure. Jason Penny, formerly of the black arrows of Maw.”

In reply to Jason Penny (msg # 6):

Myranda looked in Jason's direction; her gaze had the aspect of an Owl scrutinizing the night for signs of threat or perhaps prey. Well met Master Penny. I am Myranda of the Glenn. she replied adding a courtly curtsey.

I wondered how ling it would take before you got around to introductions.

With the Sister's grace and your partcipation I've netted a wager from the Roller.

“I do t get around as quickly as I used to, is all, milady. Plus, maybe there’s a bit of an internal struggle for me to bolster enough courage to speak to a lady lovely as you.”

Jason plenty believed in the Sisters of luck. Good chose to take his wife, bad chose to keep him on this earth. “What wager, Myranda?”

Ooc: no idea what the ‘roller’ is

Myranda's face reddened slightly, prompting her to turn and look around. Locating them she turned back to look at Jason. Raising one hand her fingers vertically she motioned in their direction. ooc Luthien & Justin
Those two are rollers. I had a wager with Justin; about how long it would take for you to meet everyone and just wone.

“Bully for you. I don’t mean to take away your prize but I ain’t met everyone just yet. But that’s fine, now that I’ve met you.”

Jason did that sheepish grin that used to always get him out of trouble from his wife.

Stripped to the waist and hulling  to his limit Orlin snorts, "I've at least got you matched lass." He helps hoist the timbers with the efficiencly of one who has helped build many a log cabin.  He glances to the incoming ridders, "I think we should be ready to aid any problems after this task.  Watch your footing if we have to run through this mess of tripping hazards."

The staff seems to be conveniently resting against the wall nearby.  "Real charmer isn't he." it says sarcastically.

Niphre joined in building the wall. She had seen it done in the kingdom that neighbored hers, and she thought that it would be a lot of work, but she was willing to work.

Myranda gives Jason a friendly smile. Tis a minor point, as you've started the process which is what counts.

Jason bowed just slightly, as his back would allow, and he decided it best to let Myranda be. He tried his hardest not to say something he would regret, and so he turned without a word.

He couldn’t keep his mouth shut though, “Y’know, not everyone is worth knowing. Maybe I just latch on to you. May I help?”

Whether or not she wanted his company, he was not done employing methods to keep from the back breaking labor.

While he was working the palissade with the men and women at hand, Kwyn watched with a bit of amazement the strength of Orlin and Stardancer working together doing a very fine job with their part.
With a little of amusement he heard the bantering between then new man Jason and Myranda.

MERCHANT'S LANDING

In reply to Jason Penny (msg # 15):

I've found that's the case as well. There are some in the world who should be avoided whenever possible, some should be dispatched as quickly and some who are simply too bigoted to waste one's breath on.  Considering Jason's request. How are you at peeling potato's?
