Re: OOC and General Rules

True, there is more to the dungeon, but Nualia is supposed to be the BBEG at the end.  The story continues and there is more, but she is the focus.  She is the 1 who burnt down the church and organized the goblins into attacking Sandpoint.

It did help that you came straight here, preserving tactical surprise.  That was huge.  Now, you have to worry about what Gogmut and a tribe of goblins is doing up top.  Mwahahaha....cough, hack...

I like to play npc's as having lives and motivations beyond, "stand around waiting for the players to kill me".  in Gogmurts case; after thinking about it, Glum and Talis (who are good at Sense Motive) come to the conclusion his motivation was survival, personal and tribal.  You captured him so easily, he realized the rest of the tribe would probably be slaughtered and he had to become Chief to prevent that.  And the Chief was also the only other goblin who might have stood a chance against you.  Helping you kill Nualia was also in line with this.  He realized she was only going to get more goblins killed as cannon/arrow fodder.

Then there are a few encounters you bypassed which you may choose to investigate, or not.

Re: OOC and General Rules

Glum genuinely thought what they were offering Gogmurt was a sweet deal.  He's probably the wisest goblin there is, and with him in charge, maybe there will be peace with the goblins for a while.  Maybe they'll even change sides next time some orcish horde comes a recruiting.

Bad, Glum! Bad! You used the words "peace" and "goblins" in the same sentence. :) :D As for Gogmurt, Cat doesn't fully trust him but is willing to sit back and see.

With Nualia dead, Zer-wedula can rage, subjugate Gogmurt, create his own barbarian tribe, and demand tribute from vassals far and wide.  Yes?

Glum:
Glum moves toward Nualia and makes sure she's dead.  If there is a pulse, he will end it.

Are you sire you don't want to heal her too? :)

Nope.  She's the enemy and cannot be turned.

I do not believe we could get her to a warcrimes tribunal to face retribution, so summary execution is required.

Re: OOC and General Rules

I should be able to post a long thread tomorrow about examinations of the rooms you see, loot, what Orik knows about areas you haven't seen, etc...

Questions;
Orik would like to have Lyrie returned to consciousness, though confiscating her spell component pouch would be a good idea.  Do you heal her to positive hps or just help her with the heal skill (which may take awhile).

Is there anything specific your characters want to do?

Re: OOC and General Rules

Orik can heal Lyrie.  I vote against helping her.  She could have peacefully surrendered instead of running, but she chose to act foolish and paid for it.  Funny how that works.

Cat's down 3 hp, Gar's down 13. Spellwise, Cat has most of her 0th levels left, 1 1st, 2 2nd. I fear taking on the big bad is near suicide at 3rd level.

Re: OOC and General Rules

Yeah, the demon can wait, he's waited this long, another day won't hurt, but I am concerned about the goblins.  I suggest we top off our hps and deal with the goblins and dogs in the chapel.  At least we need to know what the goblins are doing, and right now, Gogmurt is also low on spells.

Re: OOC and General Rules

I would be willing to trust Orik to a certain extent.  Think of him as a hp pool/meat shield that can take some hits, and if he dies, we don't have to pay him.

Re: OOC and General Rules

Cat;
   Not really.  When they entered the crypt, Orik didn't see anything obvious.  Nualia said there were undead.  They looked around (for like 1 round) and left.  So it would have to be a very stealthy type of undead.  He didn't mention a stench of death, so you can probably rule out ghouls and ghasts.  Zombies and skeletons are not stealthy.  It's either intelligent enough not to attack right away, or really, really stealthy (which implies invisibility or incorporeal).  There are too many choices and the group does not have enough know(religion) to choose wisely.

Glum;
   Yes, Gogmurt is a druid and might be able to wildshape, but you doubt it.  If he could wildshape into a large horse he would be 8th level, and he's not.  Reference post 156-160.  Apparently Gogmurt freed it and then managed to control it, thus impressing the tribe enough to begin his rule as Chief.

Everyone;
   I had a really long night at work and had trouble getting to sleep, so I am just beat today.  You can have another day to post tactics.  Please post tactics for the following;
Deal with the hounds in the Chapel
Deal with the goblins
Deal with the Warhorse

You can choose to deal with these, but I haven't heard anybody say they really want to do these things, so I am assuming you are going to leave them alone.  At the very least you will probably want to rest, which will give the goblins more time to consolidate their position and give Gogmurt a chance to get his spells back as well.
Explore Crypt and deal with undead
Examine Portal and explore the other side
Deal with the wriggly monster past the secure doors that smell of saltwater

Re: OOC and General Rules

FYI: My upcoming schedule. Just so there are no surprises. Oct 5, I'm having brain surgery. If it goes as in the past, I'll be out a week. I'm having a second - different - procedure on the 21st. Another week out.

My vote is deal with the warhorse, it may not be an enemy. Then the hounds.

Let's see, you have wild empathy, so you have a chance at making friends with it.  Do you have any spells memorized to help you in that endeavor?
